Battery life on the Xperia Play is not good. You can get a day of use with moderate usage. It drains a lot when using wifi and playing games.
When you play HD games like GTA 3, Shadowgun then your battery is gonna drain like hell !
I was expecting better.
Lol? I optimized my device so much that the stock battery lasts like three days. The battery life on this thing is amazing, just use it wisely and optimize stuff.

What do you mean by ' optimize ' and how long do you charge your phone for ?
And do you play games on it and use wifi heavily ?

I have wifi constantly on but use the the general mode on both juice defender and easy battery saver and don't even get a days usage really (although I did just reinstall easy battery saver today). I haven't even played on any games. That's quite bad I think so what could I do to improve this? Not rooted

Nothing too serious, i'm quite a noob at this stuff (first android device). I just rooted, cleaned the bloatware, frozen other stuff like the stock launcher, installed a very light launcher, disabled the boot animation (boots so much faster), did the adb setinstalllocation 2 trick, and a couple of other things. I mean, i always have low brightness and i only have wifi on when i need it, but i do play games. Of course the three days mark is only achieved when i don't play, but it definitely got even more awesome than out of the box (even there, it rocked, at least for me).
Anyone know if Ice Cream Sandwich update will improve battery life ?

I actually run the exact same stuff you wish to purchase, and i can kill the phone in 1 day if i play castlevania, symphony of night for about 11 hours straight, other than that for an average day of minimal use, maybe a half hour web browsing or so its drains about 6-7% in the approx 10 hours off the charger.
this is overclocked to 1.5ghz with a slight undervolt. the 64gb microsd works fine, i have aroundabout 10gb left free on it, as does the majority of psx emulation using fpse, n64 is a bit more spotty, everything older runs 100% perfect.
i cant comment on netflix because it isnt available where i live.
Confused...The title of thread is mega man legends 2.....so where is this game available for Xperia play? Is it on an emulator or gameloft?
Ios suckkss.
I just finished playing Asphalt 6 HD for 15 mins and I lost 16% !
So if was to play for an hour my phone would shut down right?
How about that right? How can this happen?
Why me?

Thanks are you running on the 3600mah battery?
And its a psx game ran off the emulator to the guy asking.
Also is there a compatibility list on this forum for PSX and N64 games?
I've searched and haven't seen one.
Most users who are saying that are saying that their battery lasts for 2 days or more are those who leave their xperia play on standby most of the time. Only use it a little bit here and there and a bit of gaming. Or are using a 3600mah battery.
In no way can you get 2 days of gaming full whack usage from the stock battery.
Played 9mm HD on stock GB 2.3.4 no overclock, oem stock battery
with 100% brightness,Wifi On,Multiplayer online,no data (airplane mode)
after 3- 4 hours of non stop playing, then it's shut off.

Your rooted that's why. I'm not.
You have deleted all that bloatware and stopped excess processes from running.

seriously, maybe there is something wrong with your device/battery.
xplay does really have good battery life,at least for me.

[Q] Battery Life

Hola
I looked around and didn't see any threads dedicated to this, so I hope it's not a duplicate.
After rooting and doing the ad-hoc wifi patch, the battery life is one of my few remaining complaints about the a100
Some of the reviews that I've read (for other devices that have received a stock ICS update) have mentioned noticeably improved battery life. I was wondering if anybody who's tried out any of the leaked updates has noticed an improvement and if so, you wouldn't mind sharing some stats to give the rest of us an idea of what to expect.
I noticed an improvement in battery life by quite a bit, after upgrading to ICS, but as with a lot of things battery life is subjective. Spend all day gaming and your battery life will take a massive hammering. I don't game a lot on mine but I use it like a laptop and I guess I get a decent day out of it with full brightness and a fair bit of YouTube
There's so,e tweaks to the build.prop on ICS that add some helpings to the battery life, also if you're rooted you can use setCPU etc to lower the screen off CPU freq thus saving battery there

I haven't really noticed any huge difference in battery life when it comes to heavy usage. I get around 4 - 4.5 hours of gaming at medium low brightness. I think with the custom build prop I get more standby time and more battery life for light usage on wifi, however, I find the best way to get the most out of my battery is use airplane mode for gaming and readding.
I noticed battery management changes in general. It seems more efficient at conservation. It also shows you what apps are consuming your battery in settings now.
Thanks for the feedback. Now that I've read that the devs are working on a CM9 release, I'm totally willing to wait to see what goodness they have in store for us!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s3 Battery Life

Hey everyone. I was just wondering what you people's battery life is like on a samsung galaxy s3 i747 att. My galaxy s3 is rooted, running 4.2.1 rom and the battery is bad. If i just watch like 20 minutes of youtube/ anime, the battery would go down about 5 percent. So i was just wondering is there any tips to save battery? or anything that i can do to extend m battery life. Thank you
The best thing you can do is to not use Max brightness and make sure no rogue apps running in the background. Cut sync times down. Cut down screen off time. Cut off unneccessary things. Like keyboard or device vibrating or making sounds everytime you touch it. Tons of things you can do to extend battery life.
The top thing you can do is buy an extended battery. So battery life won't be an issue for you. I'm rocking 4400mAh Hyperion extended battery. Ever since I got it, nbattery life is not an issue anymore. I even rum with Max brightness all the time and still get battery life with it. Surf the web, watch videos, and play games like crazy and battery still has plenty of juice yet. Check out the accessories thread on batteries. Great info on good batteries and battery life in there.

but the problem with extended battery is that the case is bulgy

Ever since JB upgrade my battery has been ****. I am on AOKP 1/15 right now and am at 30% battery life over 8 hrs with only 25 min screen time. For some reason or another, I am getting high battery drain from Cell Standby. It's not just AOKP but a few roms I have tried...Google Now disabled, sync disabled, auto brightness, etc...I have tried other modems as well...maybe its my phone, but I can barely get through a work day with minimal screen on time.
That drain sounds about right for streaming. On the stock rom here, after the initial OTA battery life was maybe 6 hours at the most. For some odd reason, its gotten better, back on stock ICS I got about 8-10 hours max,18 if I barely used it. Now its giving me a hour of youtube and a hour or so on twitter/web browsing, texting, getting 10-14 hours on a charge,26 hours with minimal use

are there any good roms for battery life?

Top Battery Saving HD Themes For Samsung Galaxy J5 (IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE + SPEED)

I Get Exactly 50 Hours of Battery Life Even When Watching YouTube. These Themes Are In High Quality Serving Better Battery Life And Performance. Why Not Give It A Try?
50 hours is really something great. The most I was able to survive was 16hours.....
Where can I get them?
1. Themes can't increase the performance.
2. Use any dark theme to increase the battery. This works because our phone has an Amoled display. Google for more informations.

Battery performance between identical phones

When I got my Note 10+ 5G, all they had in stock was the Aura Glow which I wasn't very keen on, but they said to take it and try it out and then get it exchanged if I wanted later.
The battery life was amazing on it where I got around 10h sot. Since I've swapped it for a black one, the battery life has been absolutely terrible. Exact same setup, same apps and same version of Android. Most I get now is around 6h sot and the standby drain is very high without a specific app causing it.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Defective battery, something in the background causing the drain that I can't see, or perhaps different tolerances in the cpu or other components they use which just makes this particular phone heavier on battery drain?
I would love to find a solution for this as I know how good the battery can be.
