[Q] dalvik-cache I/O error

I have a rooted desire and have just flashed a new rom and then found I had problems re-installing handcent sms. Looking a little further I found a file
data at app at com.handcent.nextsms-1.apk at classes.dex
that can't be updated. I have tried to delete this file manually in the terminal but I always get rm failed I/O error. I have also tried deleting the dalvik-cache from the clockworks recover and the file still persists. What can I do to fix this, is the internal storage corrupt.
The "at"s should be @s but the forum kept telling me I wasn't allowed to post external links.
If the file is in /data/app just manually delete it using a file explorer

Maguro 4.0.3 stuck in boot loop

Yesterday I restarted my Galaxy Nexus after it had problems with GMaps locations.
The following then happened.
1. Vibrate.
2. Google Logo (unlocked)
3. Restart
I've tried reflashing AOKP, wiped cache/data and I'm still getting the same issue. I can open recovery fine.
Any tips?
The following shows up when I try to restore:
Code:
"Error while restoring /data!"
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_03': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_04': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_05': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_06': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_07': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_08': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones/tombstone_09': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'tombstones': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'user/0': Read-only file system.
rm: can't remove 'user': Read-only file system.
tar: can't remove old file data/radio/nv_data.bin: Read-only file system
nv_data.binError while restoring /data!
I tried [fix permissions], and while it fixed a few permissions, when I tried to restore, I get the same Errors while restoring /data. A reflash of AOKP+full wipe still leave me in a boot loop.

Root Explorer Error

I just unlocked, rooted and restored all files in my nexus. I went into root Explorer to delete unwanted files and am getting a delete failed error every time I try to delete a file. Also my screen shots are no longer saving it says storage is in use. Anybody experience anything like this after rooting?

Are you trying to delete system files? Do you have SU installed? Are you clicking the R/W option. More details please.....
Several people have reported the issue with screen shot, to fix it they've had to rename the pictures folder(Seems like the folder is read only).
Swiftkey'ed on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
No system files just old pictures, music files and other misc. It is set as r/w, also I am getting a few apps saying I need storage available that is writable. Something has to be up with the internal storage not allowing me to access or write to it.

Well I am able to take screen shots by renaming he folder. However, I am still unable to write anything to my sdcard or modify files through root Explorer or any other file manager app.

Root explorer - How to text edit
Hi All,
I have a problem with my root explorer. I am not able to open a file to edit. If i long press on a file , i dont get any option to open/edit the file.
i was supposed to edit gps.conf file under /system/etc but unable to do so from root explorer.
PS: i mount r/w from the root explorer every time i try..
Please help.
If you have any directories/files that you can't modify or delete, then boot into CWM recovery, plug in the USB cable, go into adb shell. Also make sure that /data is mounted in the CWM mounts menu. Then:
cd /data/media
chown -R media_rw.media_rw *
root explorer delete failed

i'm having this crazy "delete failed" error every time i try to delete any file in sdcart, external, and root directory (copy-paste, root, permissions works fine )
i tried to delete any remains of root explorer with es file explorer ((which works fine btw so its not a problem of partitions i think), re installed the program again but its the same . Flashed the rom from the beginning with a full wipe but its the same
this error happened first when i updated from blackmart alpha to some rootexplorer v.99. I uninstalled that but it left this error
Any idea what is causing that
I'm very curious and would appreciate it
thanks
I found a way to delete the files you suggest using Root Explorer. Go into /data/media/<navigate to the directory that you want to delete files>.. make sure the folder is mounted as r/w and delete the files you want to delete. This is how I bypassed the delete failed issue in Root Explorer...

Please Help, My Mate is not booting

Hi,
ES File Explorer when editing the build.prop file, change the name of the file build.prop and I did build.prop_old. But the new build.prop file in / system / folder without copying it, I restarted the phone.
My phone is now stuck at the boot screen. I was using the stock ROM. Rooted phone but not installed CWM. With volume up and volume down buttons when I press the power button, the Android Recovery utiliy can reach the screen.
Is there any way build.prop file copy to the phone?
I can Stock ROM reload. However, I have important data on the phone. I do not want to reset the phone.

Will delete /data/ partition?

[Q] Can't read, copy, delete PhilZ backup files

I got a manufacturer refurbished SPH-l710 on ebay, signed in to google, auto updated to 4.4.2
I rooted w/towelroot, used flashify to flash PhilZ Touch 6.48.4
I did a backup, said successful, files show in clockworkmod/backup but ES file explorer can't read or copy to PC
Do I need to do something to get access to these files?
Is there a way to verify a backup so I don't brick the phone restoring something corrupted?
Any help is much appreciated

why don't you try using the Windows File explorer that's on your PC if you have Windows vista-8.1 cause that's what i use when transferring files from my phone's internal storage or external SD to my PC or the other way around
I can copy files from the S3 with windows 7 file explorer, a titanium backup copied fine, clockworkmod folder copied files but all 0 bytes.
The problem is not just copy to pc, every app I try gives an error trying to read the CWM backup files.
Philz offers to restore them but if it gets a read error what happens?

I am also having the same problem. Factory reset works. But is there any other way to remove the files? All show as 0 byte files. When I try to use rm, chmod or even pull, "Permission Denied" is shown.
Code:
[email protected]_T00J:/mnt/shell/emulated/0 # ls -l
ls -l
lstat './aromafm' failed: Permission denied
lstat './aromafm.zip' failed: Permission denied
drwxrwx--- root sdcard_r 2015-06-23 12:30 backups
drwxrwx--- root sdcard_r 2015-06-18 12:07 bluetooth
lstat './clockworkmod' failed: Permission denied
drwxrwx--- root sdcard_r 2015-06-18 18:40 data
drwxrwx--- root sdcard_r 2015-06-16 12:49 login_log
Any way to fix this? Those files are eating around 800MB of my Internal Storage
