SIM Unlocking on HTC Tatto

Hi all
I'm new, and i'm glad to be a member of this great forum!
I've lot of confusion about the sim unlocking on my HTC Tattoo branded Orange.fr to my Wind SIM (italian)
After a series of research on google, i've understand that i've two options:
- The first one is buy a sim unlocker in a shop like Dealextreme
- The second one is root the Tattoo and install a ROM that doesn't have sim locking
But... i've some questions:
1. Have I well understand what i've to do?
2. It's better to have some crapy chinese unlocking stuff or doing some tricky hacking software procedure?
3. Wich ROM do u suggest me?
3.1 Is true that if i flash other roms i lose the radio and the camera?
3.2 Is it better use a rom based on android 1.6 or android 2.x? Why?
Thanks in advance for your help
matteios
Nobody can help me?
Tnx
Hi there
The debranded firmware on the Tattoo doesn't solve the unlocking issue.
We have one in store that is still waiting for a solution. To root/debrand is the same as the Hero, but the sim unlock code still doesn't get accepted after flashing. That's as far as i've got with it!
Unless something has occurred recently that i've missed that's all i can help with for now!
SU
Now i've unlocked it by using the IMEI code, but even now can't i install a costum ROM on my HTC Tattoo?

Korean desire?

Hi everyone, I in korea now and looking for a new phone. SKTelecom have HTC Desire, but i wonder if:
1)Can i flash custom roms on it, saving compability with SKTelecom (SKT doesnt use IMEI, also have sim-lock)
2)And most important, if it can be used in China with other carrier. (Be unlocked from SKT and hardware compatible with standard WCDMA2100, China Unicom)
After a lot of investigating in another thread we found the Korean HTC desires without IMEIs infact do, but they are not on the label and hidden in rom. It is accessible by going to the debug menu ( forgot it, hopefully another helpful member van provide it)
Regarding custom Roms, I think it should be possible to flash a custom Rom on that phone as long as you use unrevoked or the gold cars methods.
I expect you can and would need to to unlock (if they can get rid of all parts of the Rom that deal with imei they can get rid of the parts needed for unlocking.(HTC desire's in the UK on Orange have a quirk where you are unable to unlock until you install a custom or debranded Rom.))
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thank you!
Well, another question: Is it possible to make 100% dump of SKT rom and flash it back? (Guarantee issues)

[Q] Using T-mobile branded with other carrier

I did that with my HTC sensation 4g - after unlocking the bootloader I'm using it in Israel - Orange.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader in the Defy as well?
No bootloader currently locked. But you can use t-mo Defy on other carriers you just have to unlock the sim. Better yet, buy a Defy plus as it is avail unlocked and with some choices of frequencies.
Unlocking the bootloader doesn't have anything to do with SIM unlock, and didn't help you at all. SIM unlock did. And most likely your bought your Sensation SIM-unlocked.
There is soft-SIM-unlock for Defy+, the guide is right next to your thread. Doesn't always work.
The bootloader can't be unlocked = custom ROMs run on stock kernels (unlike Sensation).
Thanks for the answers
All I need is Hebrew support and SIM unlock, I don't mind staying with the stock kernel.
T-Mobiles Defy can be found for about 150$ on eBay - half the price of the Defy+
Hebrew support you can install on any deodexed ROM - my father is running MS2Ginger with Russian pack that I modified to fit, and Hebrew framework patch.
If you're into CM7 (using Nexus One for a year made me dislike AOSP and CM) - it has the support built-in. MIUI also needs a patch, a different one.
Hebrew patch can be found on iAndroid, here.

Click to collapse
Vodafone allow you to unlock - Do a google search "Unlock SIM Vodafone Desire HD" or go to this link:
http://community.vodafone.com.au/t5...HTC-DESIRE-HD-via-vodafone-website/td-p/34433
Link was down a moment ago but should come back on line soon :good:
I can't actually unlock the normal way - crazy johns is a carrier on the Vodafone network, and in the end I will have to pay in excess of $150 etc etc... I have just rooted and unlocked my partners Galaxy S1, and I was just wondering if I can do the same with my HTC, but it seems because I have Gingerbread 2.3.5 that it is almost impossible.. I don't understand how to downgrade to older software using command prompt etc, I'm not really that smart.. haha.
Any suggestions?

[Q] S4 i9195 and sim lock

Hi there,
I have the i9195, but it's locked with Orange.
I've read Arco's tutorial about how to root it.
I'm understanding it and then I'll be able to install CyanogenMod
But how can I unlock it prior ? I don't think Cyanogen will unlock it for me, isn't ?
Last question, is Cyanogen supporting several language? I prefer to keep it in French.
Thanks a bunch,
Best regards
No Idea ?
I prefer to avoid to pay for a unlock code but I'll have no other choice if there is no Unlock apps for the i9195
Thanks!!
