Ok guys heres a quick q/ .I want to try some Gb ++ roms and obviously i need the ++ hboot since im using the stock one.So after i flash the hboot, what will happen to the phone,i.e. will i still have my recovery?
Sent from my Nokia 3310 xD
To my knowlegde the flash of the hboot only changes the bootloader.
Only ROM you currently use wont boot up no more. Recovery etc will stay untouched.
So flash new hboot, then wipe all, then flash ROM

And remember that even though they are called data++ you might be needing CM7 hboot actually, make sure what is said in ROM thread.

Hello !
I report a bug in the custom rom RevolutioN 3D v1.5.
When I take photos, the phone freeze during the preview. I must remove the battery of my phone to resolve the problem.
Maybe the rom is not any updating, but it would be cool to resolve the problem, because this rom is really fast !
And I think I am in 0.93 version of HBoot.
How to change it ? With Android Flasher ? ...
Thanks =)
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Ok no I'm just stupid.
No problem with the rom
It was a problem with my old Hboot, and i found how to change it.
You can delete this useless topic.
Hey bro! I tried to install this rom too but it isn't working for me. How did you do it?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Did you pass S-off your desire ?
It's a compulsory step for installing the roms
And for every rom you have to verify if you have the right radio and hboot. If not, you can flash it with AndroidFlasher for exemple.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
Yea, I have S-OFF and how do I know if I have the right radio and hboot? I have HBOOT-6.93.1002 and Radio-5.1705.23
(sorry for asking in your thread, but you seem smart )

The versions is always specified on the first post.
There are 2 roms RevolutioN. One is "3D" with android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0, the other one is only with android 2.3.3 and sense 2.1.

For the Hboot, it depends what version of rom you download.
A2SD+ or Data++
I think the second is better, but i'm not sure.
Okey, but the wierd thing is that now when I tried revolutioN(not 3d) again it works, but if I press the power button and lock the phone I can't unlock it because I just see the wallpaper and no unlock button :S. And I do not have a Market app or settings app which means (ofc) that I can't go to settings and I can't go to market. Do you know anyone I can ask about these kinds of problem?
Regards ThaBrazzer
Edit: And thank you for the links wit Hboot and radio! Will try them tomorrow

You can change the Hboot with AndroidFlasher here. (select Bootloader)
Connect your desire on "charge only" and flash
Maybe that's the reason of your problem.
And i know of nobody on this forum :s
indeed your problem is strange...
Yea, maybe that is the problem. Thank you for the help and links, I will try them tomorrow . I let you know if it works or not!

Sorry, thought you are OP and replied to original problem. My bad!
You wrote, youn cannot install the rom. Please describe the steps you do in detail and where the installation stops.
Here is what I did: I downloaded the Rom revolutioN 2.0 and put it via my computer on my sd card. After that I used clock work to wipe everything and flash the Rom. The Rom got flashed and I entered my pin code. Then I pressed the power button to lock then phone, and then when I wanted to unlock it, no lockscreen appeared! Only a wallpaper. And then I restarted and wanted to check my settings, but I didn't have a settings app, so I went to the home screen and pressed menu > settings, but it said that "this is no longer available" or something like that. And I do not have a market app.

This has been asked before. You would have found more help by searching. You can get the stock recovery in the RUU for your respective firmware version. Search around for that. I can't help you right now but maybe when I go home, if you still haven't found anything.

Thank You very much for ur reply brother.I am searching for that file for about 3 days.My luck is against me.Recovery.img file is available for many others android, but for dhd is unavailable.Pleaese help me by providing the link.
Here, download this file, connect your phone to computer and run it (Windows only). It will restore you to complete stock state and erase all your data. From what I've understood, you want to go back to stock state including stock recovery so that you can install an OTA. This will put back stock recovery and make your phone 100% stock. It's called an RUU (ROM Update Utility) by HTC.

Md5sum is the data checking algorithm made to ensure there is no changes in the data during transfer. This is also used to prevent any unwanted changes that maybe dangerous to the user. Google it if you want it more detailed. Basically, md5sum is used to make sure that the file that u have is the same one that is released by the maker.
If it is working fine then you dont need to.

Hi,
Ive got a one x thats had the bootloader unlocked and running with the TeamWin recovery on CyanogenMod official nightlies (21st to be exact).
I cannot get the GPS to function. In maps it will tell me its unable to determine my location and in other apps such as "GPS Test" it shows no info. Ive tried flushing the dalvik cache, repairing permissions and installing the fix detailed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595800.
Any help would be appreciated
(If GPS is disabled in CM nightlies what steps can I take to re enable it?)
Thanks,

It's a common problem that the aosp/aokp roms have GPS trouble on the JB hboots !

S-OFF !!! You lucky bastard !!! Well as far as i know it has to do with the boot.img and/or repacking it. Try to search for that in the thread ...there must be more info about it there !
I should work just fine, I'm on that hboot myself.
Then a bad flash maybe
So you think I should reflash boot.img ?

No, do not update hboot. It will break your gps for sure.
Try reflashing rom with wipe/factory reset option in recovery.
Can you get cellular and/or wifi signal?

I am so so stupid...i read the instructions but i did it...installing the latest hboot....
I was on 0.94.000...just perfect no problems...
Now i have 1.39,i am on 20121223 cm10 nightly for endeavoru with your modded-boot.img....
Something strange!with sygic i am ok...gps is working... but with copilot nothing is working!
Is there any way to downgrade???
I am so disapointed....i am searching for my old HD2(legend phone)
No way to downgrade, sorry.
It is strange that it works with some apps, must be the new new hboot. (1.39)
But it will be all sorted out when htc releases its kernel source.

I tried this....
with modded-boot.img i use Nibble Automated Kernel Repack Beta and any boot that i want.... so i can use every rom that i want...but i have to repack the boot.img.... not from the rom... first the modded-boot.img and then the boot.img of the rom you want to use...so you have a new boot.img that you can use!!!
Hi guys, I am very new to this community and this is my first post. So this is what happened:
I had my One X for about 4 months now, and I was starting to want something new so I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader everything went just fine. So I realized root isn't the only big thing you can do to tweak your device so I wanted to flash a custom ROM. I wanted to customize it so I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611349 to customize CMOD 10 based on Jelly Bean and flash it to my device. So I finished my custom ROM and wanted to flash it to my device. So I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 (post 2 only (of course)).
At first when I tried to flash my custom ROM I didn't make any backup because I had Titanium backup and I thought that it does the same thing as recovery backup (now I know it doesn't) so I don't have the stock ROM on backup. I was disappointed that the device won't boot, it only shows the boot screen "HTC quietly brilliant". And then I saw boot.img I didn't knew what to do with it so I read about it and found out that I need to flash the boot.img before I flash the ROM. So I deleted everything again and done it all over again, but I flashed boot.img that came with the CM 10 first and then flashed the ROM itself. I've done everything correctly and my device still won't boot. It's over 20 minutes and still showing the "HTC quietly brilliant" like before the boot.img.
What should I do and very much thanks for the helpers I don't want to lose my device. :crying:
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is my first android device.

Okay matey, here's your problem:
You need a special boot.img for your newer hboot version. Check post # 9308 in CM10 thread for link.
Unfortunately GPS doesn't work with this boot.img.

Gps will be fixed when slow-ass HTC releases the JB kernel source code. Until then, you can use Trip's CM10 or IceColdJelly 4.2.1 for working GPS.

Probably something went wrong when you customized it. What exactly did you do? Why not just download it as it is?
And when you talked about github.... you mean you built it from source?

I did built it form source. I got in a folder 3 files: 2 folders: system and META-INF 3rd file is boot.img.
I probably don't know what to put in update.zip (what folders) would you tell me?
I customized some colors, battery skin on the status bar and fonts. I also customized build.prop and added adrenaline script so I got another folder named "data".
could you tell me how to pack it all to update.zip? I guess my problem is that.
P.S. I also sign it after packing it to update.zip with auto-signer using java.
THX in advance!
Here's one idea: Download the pre built zip of the rom and use it as a template. Replace all the folders inside with your own, custom ones.

Not sure if you understood correctly.
I meant you should dl the rom from get.cm and then replace the files with the ones you built and modified.
If this is exactly what you did, then I'm out of ideas.

Why not flash the rom as it is and put your own stuff to system afterwards with adb or an file explorer ?
