Top Games missing from the Bada Samsung Apps Store - Bada Software and Hacking General

(this is also available as an article at badadownload.com)
In all the influx of new games for the Bada platform (mostly for Bada 2), it has escaped our notice that much more games has exited from Samsung apps! What is annoying is that most of the missing games are of great quality both in visuals and gameplay. Most of the missing games are from Gameloft. Here is the list of Missing games.
Bada Games Gone from Samsung Apps:
1) Asphalt 5 – the game that the wave 8500 launched with is gone
2) Modern Combat Sandstorm
3) Gangstar
4) Brothers In Arms 2
5) Hero Of Sparta
6) Kroll
7) Tehra Dark Warrior
8) Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior
9) Avatar
10) Need for Speed Shift Just returned to the store
11) Parcel Panic
12) Nitro Touch Racing
13) Shrek 4 Adventure Game
14) Shrek Kart
15) Cyber Racing
16) Wave Blazer came back
17) Let’s Golf 2
18) Death Land 3D
19) Zombie Infection HD

27) Home Run battle 3D
28) GT Racing Academy
29) Blades of Fury – Im furious this is gone
30) Tower Bloxx Deluxe 3d
31) Earthworm Jim HD
32) Cocoto Kart Racing 3d
33) Cocoto Magic Circus Cocoto Series just returned.
34) Naught ( gone because of App reviewer )
35) Radio ball 3d
36) Marbles Multiball
37) Monopoly
It was only after making the list that i realized how many games have exited the Bada platform. And this only counts the Bada 1.2 games.
It doesn’t include the games gone from Bada 1 which are Furry Legends, Hero Of Sparta 2, Vampire Rush, iDracula and some more.
33 games that helped define the wave 85xx series as a mobile gaming platform all gone!
The disappearance of such a large catalogue of games from the already minuscule selection of top games for the Bada platform could have been averted by Samsung if the management really knows how to leverage the little that they have.
Regardless of compatibility or even perhaps the hesitation of the developers to rewrite their programs for bada 2, Samsung could have incentively assisted the developers.
It isn’t always about the money but the prestige that good quality apps can bring to a platform that Samsung should take care of.
Please feel free to add or subtract from the list if there are any errors via the comments and the list will be updated.

I still have some of these games (NFS Shift, Bruce Lee, etc.) installed and I can found them in Kies, too. So I don't get your point... It might not visible on the phone under 2.0 as the apps are for 1.0 -1.2 but it's a problem with the Samsung Apps on the Wave...

The Cocoto games came back to Samsung Apps for bada 2.0 earlier this morning, just like Hexage games did yesterday. I guess the most of the apps from the list will come back sooner or later.
And still... Bada is not about prestige by any means. For now its only a "niche", and only time will tell if it is ever gonna change...

http://developer.bada.com/badaforum...general&messageId=43314&startPage=1&curPage=1
Lately I received an email from Samsung in which they were telling me that one of my apps (which is in the store for ~2 years) was suspended. The reason is that it doesn't run on Bada 2.
I keep asking myself why you guys at Samsung have failed here so much. The right way would surely be to just hide this kind of apps in the store to Bada 2 users! Do you understand that point? Can't your infrastructure accomplish this??
I really think this is stupid because Bada 2 is still not available for all phones! Do other developers here also have suspended apps? I don't think about reworking my app. I will not do any more favors to Samsung.

bada 2 is hard...
We can't check if really compatibility problems...
Only Samsung knows why...
Best Regards

If Samsung will keep this way in treating developers so soon every developer will abandon the platform
bada 1.2 apps have to work on bada 2.0
But Samsung made bada 2.0 from scratch as i guess so a lot of old stuff are deprecated
Now Samsung has to deal with what it did...Not the developers
Best Regards

Need for Speed Shift and Cocoto Games
@anghelyi the other games like NFS Shift and Cocoto Games just came back.
However just like you, the games that i have already downloaded will of course still appear in my list of downloaded apps.
But if you check kies for the other games in the list a lot of them are not in KIES.
That is why I made the list so everyone can check it out.
That was the point.
I even indicated that the list will be modified when changes come along so for now we have only 3 changes, and I forgot to add Monopoly up there.
As a secondary point, Whoever is managing the Bada Section at Samsung Apps needs to
connect with the bada market and explain what is happening to the Apps that disappear and if they are coming back. As I mentioned up there some games on Bada 1 like Hero of Sparta 2, Furry Legends etc never came back.
Its about public relations too.

Did anyone notice this with NFS?
NFS Shift can be found in the store again for bada but when selected , a pop up comes up saying
"the app is not applicable to your phone now redirecting to the home page"
Click to collapse
This happens whether a wave 3 or older wave is selected.
I think its good that we pay attention to what is happening in the store like in the case of Tin Tin, its available for the wave 8500 as it says so on its app page but if you try to download it it will say its not compatible for the wave 8500.

Wave Blazer also came back - on 27 february. Good to see that the list is actually shrinking day by day. Still it's quite hard to track... the alternative SA browsers like badaapps.de tends to show the actualization dates, but there is a fair amount of updates, which seems to be unnoticed by store application - like TinTin for example (update on 14 february and no mention at all - 100% reinstallation required). Plus - the updates are not making the apps reaching the top spot on the "newest" filter, that was always a bit weird to me.

Thanks just updated the list so 33 games to go

AFAIK Need for Speed Shift is still missing, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is the new game and is not connected with Shift in any way.

Also you can add Space Hell and Eathworm Jim and HAVX

What game is it? How do you play this?
Never heard about such thing
I try explain my game but I'm not native English speaker... Principal game rules are simple. You need draw line by 5 adjacent points. On start it not possible so game rules allow add 1 new point for create line. You have some default set points on start, their number increases with the progress of the game. There is also bonus mode in game - you can store points for future use if you draw line by 5 existing points.
Idea is not new. Before computer times I play this game on boring lessons in school using only paper and pen. But i was not happy - I could not restore my best games, so I create computer version of that game - now I can save games, undo moves, reviews games, found hidden moves e.t.c.
Unique value of that game is that you can play just for fun drawing lines or can play in ambitious style and try get best score.
Peoples don't know my game because is unique in Internet - so many sudokus sokobans and other games for single players but no one has coded my favourite game. So try my game and give me opinion here, might you like it.
Thanks for this, I used to play your java version, but for some reason it stopped working on my hd 2, this works great!
thanks for releasing this as a stand alone cab file
I'm so happy that xda promoting my freeware software At last in win-mo you have nice icon. j2me is not bad language - very strict rules so code are runing fast even on old phones. This is framework version - is fast on fast devices. In j2me I was have trouble programming auto-player, I think you will be like this feature. And in this version at last I got idea how coding bonus mode and doing this!
Whats funny is that I lost my Phone in November, last year, used t oplay your game all teh time. Switched to Android for a while, hated it, came back to WM, flashed an NRG ROM, but was missing your game. Took me a while to find the Java Version, actually found a copy last week, but couldn't get it to work with the Java version I have on this phone. Was quite upset, and just about gave up, until today, that is, when I saw a Tweet about it, on my phone, and imediatly installed it. Still haven't figured out what Bonus mode does, or how it differs from what I am used to. Keep up the good work, and again, I am glad I can play this game again on my HD2. Maybe you can do an animatted GIF to show how this works, I am not getting it from the explination on your web site
The only thing i will say, is that on the HD2, it is a little hard to get the dots sometimes, even after increasing the screen size a bit, so sometimes it takes two or three taps to hit the dot I want. No way around this though, as the HD2 has no stylis. It still works fine, however, and if I am really lazy, I can just cycle through the hints until I find the line I intended, or see another line of interest, that I may have missed.
I will add, you should throw up a donation link, in your sig, or add it to the first post, as some people may want to donate a little token of apreciation...
For those who need an understanding on how to play, I ripped this of your web site:
Maybe you need calibrate screen on HD 2 if you have trouble select point? After adding demonstration game and simple help I think that this gif is no big useful but still OK. Read help and you learn what is bonus mode. Or often use hint and in medium game you can see "can store!" - This is bonus feature. With bonus mode You can get much better score eg my is 135! Or just disable bonus in config and play classic mode like in 2.2 In bonus mode strategy has changed - less thinking how to effectively draw lines - more thinking how get and use precious stored points.
2010-08-08: New 2.4 version released - worth redownload!

how to play sacred odyssey on galaxy s2

1st you need chainfire 3D with POWERVR plugin and wifi,
now I found this trick to play the game, Here we go
Now when you launch the game go to option and click back button on galaxy device then click on gameloft live, Now go to news and find where is written "username is now level x (x means level number) Click back on the device, Now click "new game" then happy gaming
it will not always work so try many times has possible or you can shut down the phone and try again
Do you need proof? se Attachment below
Hi,
Yes I confirm, it works like a charm with Chainfire 3D but the launch of the game is not obvious and is unstable.
Each time you want to continue the game, you will have to go first on Gameloft live, click on your news event linked to Sacred odyssey, go to your trophy, back to the game with "back" button of the device and then press continue.
I recommend to reboot the device before you want to play.
This game is pretty cool and it's a pleasure to play again and again.
But Sacred Odyssey is a good RPG game but not the best. It's a petty that the great iPhone game Aralon Sword and Shadow has not been developped on Android.
Rgds
well I tried many times, I even tried reinstalling it over and over, and it doesn't work, please help it looks like a cool game to play.
Yes, it's strange.
The game doesn't start anymore now.
The trick to visit first the Gameloft live doesn't work anymore....
Anyway.
This game was cool and I don't understand why Gameloft doesn't adapt it formerly to the Galaxy...

There are loads of 3rd party Google map apps. My favourites are Gmaps and Bingle Maps.

There's an Xbox Live game called Spider Jack that is similar to Cut the Rope. Costs $2.99. Also you can play a HTML5 browser version of CTR for free, by going to http://www.cuttherope.ie (not sure if it works on WP7 or not)
You might want to narrow the list to top apps or most wanted apps.
Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps by the 2nd quarter. I think I read that.

I don't believe nicksti asked for advice on how to run the thread.
Please provide a link where Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps. Clearly they are not in control of third party software. There is no need for you to try to create trouble here. If you can not find a credible link stating that, please edit your post and remove the comment. It is clearly an attempt by you to discredit Microsoft and Windows Phone 7 with false information.

It does work although it takes a little to load and you also have to go into options and change to click to cut because drag will scroll you left and right. I've played it before and was surprized to see it in a post here.

I had put popular apps which I figured would mean most downloaded or top apps. So I bolded it now for emphasis. You have a good point though, because I would not want this to be a wall of any and every app.

My apologies for sounding rude or making a suggestion. You can clearly name thousands of missing apps, that's why i suggested naming most wanted. Sorry if that creates trouble.
I think I read that information on this site.
Anyway I can't post here since I'm not allowed.

Posting here to say that you are not allowed to post here? I do welcome the suggestion. Beyond the missing apps, I could name thousands of app that are present as well, but I do agree the exercise is to make a list of the most popular/downloaded/desireable apps.
This really all came about after reading posts with people complaining about missing features and apps. I wanted to get a sense of what is missing from an app perspective so people can be more informed about making a Windows Phone purchase.
Honestly, from a mass market consumption standpoint, the only thing I see missing right now is Skype (and that is coming).
Any more popular apps that I am missing?
Are we not counting the third party apps/ clients that do the same thing as the official apps?
If so, probably the title should say 'official apps' comparison?

Looked at another way, the addition to Skype to the Windows Phone apps market will help Microsoft "bridge the gap in top apps" between Windows Phone and the competition, and the overall goal is to ensure that all "top 25 apps" (from both iOS and Android) will be available on Windows Phone before the end of the first half of 2012. And Microsoft is also investing tens of millions of dollars over three years to promote competitors of key apps that will never, for whatever reason, be ported to Windows Phone. Pandora is cited as an example, alarmingly.

I just looked at my iPhone for the top 25 apps (each costs $0.99 on the iPhone except camera plus, which is $1.99):
1. Where's my Water
2. Scrabble with Friends
3. Fruit Ninja - WP ($2.99)
4. Words with Friends
5. Angry Birds - WP ($2.99)
6. NFL Kicker
7. Angry Birds Seasons

12. WhatsApp Messenger - WP (FREE)
13. Angry birds Rio
14. Bejeweled - WP (Bejeweled Live $4.99)
15. Doodle Jump - WP ($2.99)
16. Free Music Download Pro Plus - WP (Free Music downloader FREE)
17. Battery Boost
18. The Game of Life
19. Evi
20. TETRIS - WP (by $4.99 - Tetris7 FREE)
21. Pimp Your Screen
22. Reel Steel
23. NBA JAM by EA SPORTS
24. Color Texting for iMessages
25. Tiny Wings
Pandora and Skype don't even make the list.
My guess it that Microsoft uses a different top 25 list.
In any case, I marked the ones that are available on Windows Phone and included the price in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The iPhone App Store does let you list the top and top free for each category as well.
Guessing the Social Networking category would be the most important, then maybe music.

But my feeling based on current rumours is - Skype app around Tango and Skype integration in Apollo to say the least!
Pimp my screen, Battery Boost, Tiny Wings, Color Texting for iMessages (obviously) are iOS only correct?
I am trying to compile a list that would be cross-platform. Would not want to include Android only or iOS only software.

Like every device has this now just thought I'd bring it over to help out my armv6ers lol anyways these were all tested on my SGY how u like them

z screen recorder-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zausan.zscreenrecorder
2.Requires root: SD Maid Next 1 is one that I use when I'm strapped for internal memory on my sgy it can free up your memory
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm
3.7zipper- You can use to decompress 7z files (ps1games are usually compressed liked this) fpse won't play the games in this format so you need to decompress them you can just use a pc but if you don't have 1 and own a ps1 game this is a great tool https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.joa.zipperplus7

10.Mx Player- it is the best video player I've used great if your having problems playing videos and a million times better than the system player
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
11.Tiger Arcade- it can be used to emulate mame and neo geo games it can also be used for cps1 and 2 but it didn't work properly on my SGY but doesn't matter since basically every game that was on cps1 and 2 was on mame also you'll need a bios file called neo geo.zip to emulate neo geo games (Google it) anyways this if the free version in order to enable saving you'll need to buy it anyways this app isn't on the play store anymore so I put it on drop box

Members tend to hate people who are addicted to thanks, don't ask for it, earn it. If you ask, more and more will NOT give a thanks to you because of all the nagging. If they feel you deserve a thanks they will give it to you.
WE WON'T FORGET THE THANKS BUTTON!!
Is it just me or does Bike Race Free and What's My IQ? incompatible with our phone?

Unless asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my Apple Macintosh.
I often play games on my android. These games really assist in spending short leisure times with fun.
Personally, I kinda liked gaming on Android - and also kinda hated it at the same time.
I liked it because there were good games despite their issues, such as:
Fate/GO (Good story, but plagued with gacha hell & unreasonable root detection)
SAO - Integral Factor (Fun, free, gacha hell)
Animus : Stand Alone (paid)
What I hated about gaming on Android:
License checking - Any paid games from Play Store ; for example, the aforementioned above Animus : Stand Alone, requires Play Store License checking. That, in my point of view, means that unless the owner of a paid game has signed in with the account they used to pay for the game, they may not play that game.
Gacha Hell - Includes Fate/GO & SAO - Integral Factor. Sure, with enough skill & experience, this issue may be bypassed. But, for the fanbase, getting the SSR they want in these games, for example, requires either sheer luck and/or real-time money. Sorry, but I'm not sorry to say this out.
CAPITALISM - sorry, gotta say that one in full caps. But, microtransactions.
Weird & Questionable root detection - Only on Fate/GO. Their root detection is so insane that Magisk dev topjohnwu discovered a security vulnerability - https://www.xda-developers.com/procfs-leak-lg-oneplus-huawei-xiaomi-asus/
Fortnite Mobile, a non-Play Store game, also suffers from this issue.
Not fun enough- Honestly, other than the 3 games I mentioned above & PUBG Mobile, I don't think any other Android games are fun enough. Sure, I can sidestep this issue by playing retro games with emulators, but, so far, the only good emulator is PPSSPP - DraStic, a DS emulator, requires Play Store license checking.
Mandatory Internet access - Most Android games are digital release only. Fate/GO & SAO-IF are also plagued with this issue, as both were incomplete on release. Sure, updates do fix bugs & add more content, but, single-player games requiring internet connection scares me about the future of gaming, especially on Android.
An example of a game that (kinda) bypasses this flaw : iPad's Infinity Blade series (discontinued & removed from App Store, unfortunately). The only times it actually needs internet access is for cloud saving. However, it still relies on the App Store; as it's a paid app (license checking).
