when you enter recovery mode, do you get any errors?
After I have tested Cyanogenmod9, I have used Odin to write a stock ROM on the phone. It didn't boot, and in recovery I was receiving "can't mount /cache; can't mount /system etc." It shouldn't happened something like that, but.... it did.
My solution: used the recovery (the buggy one) to update to latest (beta) CWM recovery from phiex, and then used a CWM backup that I had on the SDCARD. And errors vanished.
that erors gone i did factory reset and cache and dallvix something like that and the erors gone...have a application for repair the baseband?i try to fint in the internet but all about galaxy s/s2

Sigh...
Yadinbilu: take a step back, and think of how much time and effort you've spent trying to fix this phone. And all the stress that comes with having an unusable phone.
Here you have a group of well intentioned, generally knowledgeable people, some of which have encountered the very same problem you're dealing with.
As a group, we've tried just about everything that could be.
Entering various service codes in the phone.
Using leaked Qualcomm programs like QPST and QXDM.
Re-flashing all manner of firmwares and basebands.
Even flashing specially modified files that we suspected could reprogram the IMEI on the phone.
All of this has been going on for many months, probable even before you thought about buying your own Gio. People with the other phones closest to the Gio, like the Ace, Mini and Fit, have been doing the same efforts.
The Galaxy S GT-I9000, or any other phones of the GT-I series are generally not a good reference when it comes to hacking the Gio (or any other GT-S series phones), there are too many differences between the two.
All of this has always lead us back to one solution: sending the phone to a service center.
Many here have told you just that.
If its about the money this might cost you, well, tough luck. These boards are wallpapered with multiple disclaimers that boil down to this: You are doing this at your own risk. That risk varies, but it could go from minor inconvenience to very major. Miss a critical phone call or SMS. Maybe lose your job or miss an important exam because your alarm didn't go off.
Yet you don't seem to listen. Instead you start multiple new threads where you plead and snivel for assistance.
Get your phone the professional attention (and possibly new motherboard) it needs, or get another and throw away this one. Seriously.
It's gotten to a point where it's pathetic, annoying and sad to watch.
Goodbye,
Darkshado

What happens after you do a battery pull? Try that leave it out for a few seconds and see if it turns itself on again, essentially it shouldn't be able to unless your hardware button is stuck/sticky.
Is your phone insured ?
If you are on a custom rom it could be a bad download. Check the MD5 checksums and verify that your download was legitimate. Other than that. If you ARE NOT rooted, I suggest you read MULTIPLE tutorials and root your phone in addition to adding a custom ROM.
May I suggest Juggernaut V5.0. Or if you like ICS I suggest Blackedition or NexusMod
Best of luck

he means that the power button might be stuck. try booting into recovery, and if your phone automatically selects reboot, you know your power button is stuck.

Give this a go... Back up your device beforehand.
Download Samsung Kies. Put you phone into download mode. Open Kies, and under "Tools" menu, select "Emergency firmware recovery". This will completely restore your device to stock. If you still have issues afterward, its a hardware problem.
Edit: You WILL lose root with this method. But you'll also get a definitive answer...
Unroot it and install stock

Is your phone plugged in when reboot? What are you charging it with? A usb cable or an actual charger?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I would try flashing a new ROM and especially a new kernel. Try to do it over ADB if you cant get it through recovery.
So i tried to update my AOKP with just using my phone. And after the reboot.. nothing happened. So i did a battery pull and now when I turn on my baby the led goes blue and stays there.. frozen. No access to recovery or download.
Black screen and blue led.. so yeah.
What I'm asking is.. there's no way of coming back?
Sent from my Old Evo using xda premium
Also.. I semi-bricked before and was able to fix via download mode.. so I know my way around.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
When you updated AOKP you flashed the EL26 CWM kernel as per the instructions in all AOSP roms up until now? Both the recovery in AOKP 37 and the Zip for AOKP 39 (as far as I am aware) are not safe to flash in ICS Recovery.
BLoD is a sign that the bootloader is borked. Normally this is something fixable via JTAG. But it is also caused at Random by the Super Brick bug which can not be fixed. Sounds like you flashed not only an unsafe Zip but in an unsafe recovery and if you tell me you factory reset that would be even worse.
Our phone has a bug in its eMMC firmware which needs to be patched. All of the former ICS leaks have had kernels that can trigger it and last i checked only the Nighlies for CM9 have a safe updater binary used in conjunction with a made safe recovery are generally safe to flash from ICS. Which is exactly why the threads tell you to use the EL26 CWM kernel which if mobile can be flashed via mobile odin. Failure to do so will eventually at random trigger the bug.
Blue LED and not able to get phone into Odin mode = Hard Brick
another one bites the dust......i just don't know how the directions could be any more clear on flashing ICS ROM's. Maybe we need a sticky in every forum in bold letters that says:
"READ ME BEFORE FLASHING!"
I read the warnings and all that jazz. It was just a bad download thanks to the 4G. Mistakes happen. Relax @ above poster.

I agree with Rican Bomba... Not everyone is a Android hacking Guru. We are all trying to learn here. I bricked my phone and i did follow QBking77's instructions (Who i believe to be the best at explaining things thoroughly in his videos) yet, there are so many post that aren't clear. I had force closes like crazy on AOKP and before i found the one poster that said don't wipe in ICS... I had done it and lights out R.I.P. First E4GT. I have flashed way too many times to count without incident. Some posters put more info on how not to brick than others. I followed QBking's method to a tee and something was still wrong... I don't blame him (He makes things crystal clear and is great at what he does), things happened and that was that. I learned something from a poster who was very clear and i won't make the mistake again (not to mention I'm leaving AOKP alone lol). Take it easy on these guys, they will learn soon with a little friendly direction

Hey guys I was using mobile odin pro, getting ready to go back to stock but staying rooted. So i downloaded stock rooted rom and went to mobile odin. In mobile odin there is an option to wipe cache and dalvik cache so I checked them and hit wipe. I was on about 26% and it warned me that when flashing anything it's recommended to be atleast 50%. I continued anyway cause I was simply wiping cache. It began loading then said rebooting into recovery and never turned on. From what I see it looks like it might be hard brick (won't boot into download mode or recovery). I was wondering have any of you experienced this and is it stay repairable without jtag or do I have to send it to MobileTechVideos (again)?
Hope you guys can help, kinda ironic since I was trying to revert back to stock and stop flashing different roms all the time.
Wow I guess no one else has ran into this issue. Or maybe you guys are tired of so many bricked questions, as so am I, but I thought my case was different since it was from using mobile Odin app instead of the usual "accidently flashed an international rom, now won't boot" thread.

Yeah maybe possible but they were rather shorts steps, I think they were about 6. Simply written too, don't think I missed anything. After reading online some, I've found that mobile Odin has been known of causing bricks on certain devices. Though the op of the thread said it worked perfect on his. It's ok though I'm just going to get it jtagged, then only rooting it on stock. Well until when TW 4.2 is available to us that is .

You may be able to use a USB jig to get it into download mode to attempt to flash it back to working order. You can get them fairly cheap on ebay and i know you can make them if you have a little skill with a soldering iron and find the right thread. otherwise it's probably a no go....

Hey buddy... I'm going to jump in on this, even though JD is the Man. I just don't want you to brick you're device.
Don't download a rom not made for this device ( epic 4g touch ). That is what has put you in this position to begin with. Go to rwilco12's repo. Its in the epic 4g touch forum and go to Android development. Then pick stock roms. Read...read... read. :good:
If you picked the sph - L710...because you saw JD was running that.... consider this.. not everybody who is in here helping, is still running an epic 4g touch anymore. If I'm not mistaken... JD is running an S3 from boost mobile. That is probably why it says L710..I'm not positive. But I am positive that you need to use the roms for this specific device or you're going to brick. It's a miracle you haven't already.
Ask youre buddy if he flashed a bootloader... because I think he did and if that's the case you need to get the epic 4g touch one back.. should be as easy as using Odin and flashing a one click... I'm not positive... but I think this devices bootloader is all tied up in the one clicks... but look around and make sure. You might have to Odin a bootloader first. I'm just not sure as I've never looked into it, but from what I ( think ) I know. Because of this devices kernel/recovery issue. The bootloader is different than most devices and might be all tied together.
I'm sure JD will pop in later after he gets free and let us both know for sure...
Thanks @Gil81. And OP, you may want to thank him as well, because if you had flashed L710 you world have surely bricked. I have moved on to the Galaxy S3(L710), but as Gil can attest to, I was on this phone for a few days . And as usual, he isn't steering you wrong. Okay tried to flash DN3 last night. Everything went find and had the no wifi error. It all went downhill from there. When installing DN3 there is a back up EFS folder. I selected to back that folder up. I tried to fix the Wifi problem with Devil Kernel. Got samsung logo lock up (waited for an hour). Couldn't seem to get into recovery anymore, but download mode still worked, phew!
Got the stock firmware for my device (Bell GN2 i317m). Flashed just fine, but when the phone booted, wifi worked and now I have no network. Says insert sim card when trying to select mobile networks. Tried my sim in a friends phone, worked no problem at all. okay next step. Root it with CF root. Odin 3.09 locks up when writing cache. Now phone one boot. Go to Kies and use firmware upgrade too. Works no problem. Back to root with Odin 3.07. Locks up in the exact same spot as 3.09. Tried 1.85 same problem. I realize my EFS folder is likely pooched, but everything I have read seems to require root, which I cannot seem to get anymore.
What would your next step be, before throwing it out the window? Now my stupid reset counter has Knox warrarenty failed 1 next to it and like 30 (yes 30) on my counter.
PS I have been flashing phones forever. HTC Magic, Xperia X10, Nexus S, Galaxy S2 and Note 2. I have never run into an issue like this one!
Still stuck. I have tried everything under the sun. I am at a total loss on what to do. I believe its from the whole knox bootloader downgrade. I am able to gain root and have SU block knox, but my EFS folder is empty. I have reset via KIES and Odin multiple times. I am looking for someone elses hel as I have done so much to try and fix this I am now confused on all the stuff I have tried!
Unknown IMEI
Unknown Baseband
Insert Sim etc
It is the same for every flash.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have also tried tha about 10x. It works fine, but my EFS folder is always completely empty afterwards.
Anyone else?
EFS may still be there...but is not getting mounted properly because the path has been corrupted...
Sadly...I do not have an EFS .tar file that can path restore...but I know it exists on this site...and have seen it before...
Search for that information and you will likely find it...
We also have several older threads of users who fixed the EFS folder once it got deleted...
Worst case....send it for a JTAG service to mobiletechvideos.com
They can rebuild the EFS and restore the IMEI from your info under the battery...
Very sorry I can't offer more....g
