Urgent help - mobile restore? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I have until today to restore my phone to stock and get a replacement.
Charging port is busted, can't connect USB or charge.
Is there a file I can download via the phone to use mobile odin to do a full restore as I'm sure sprint isn't going to take my phone back with a custom rom on it.
Not dropping another 500 bucks for an out of contract phone. zzz

Try using mobile Odinhttps://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro&hl=en to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Epic_4G_Touch/ROMs/S:D710.0.5S.EL29
I haven't tried, or heard of anyone trying to flash a full rom TAR, but it works flawlessly for modems and kernels.
But, hey, if it bricks, just say you had it hooked up to KIES or something and the phone shut off, and wouldn't turn back on.

Mobile Odin the use sfhubs here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101 use the full restore/data wipe one. here is dl link http://depositfiles.com/files/oneaikoul

Mobile Odin works great flashing whole tars I have done it several times ... You can also download the tar to computer and use wifi explorer to copy it to your sd
I even used mobile Odin to Odin eg30 back from cm9 ....And the pro version will allow you to still have root...pretty handy for not getting the triangle and your flash count any higher. You can use the triangle be gone app from Chainfire on ics before using mobile Odin to go back and kill both birds at once

Thanks. I've been wondering, but I haven't had a reason to flash a full tar since I bought mobileOdin.

[Q] Is there a way to unroot without ODIN?

My phone isn't working properly, and I plan on exchanging it for another E4GT at the Sprint store. I suspect it to be a hardware issue because I've done a few factory resets, and it still isn't working. The problem is that it is constantly freezing, and my pc doesn't detect the phone when I plug it in. It charges, but it won't get recognized as an external device, even in cwm and download mode. I'm not quite sure what to do.
Is there a way to go completely stock, and unroot without the use of ODIN?
How about mobile Odin from the market? No PC required.

What are you on right now what did you flash with Odin lost kernal? If you were on sfhubs root you dont need Odin just use the option B I think unroots but only if you rooted with it? how did you root?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
If you used the Auto Root package, only the root needed to be done while connected to the computer.
Undoing CWM and unrooting can be done on the phone itself. Instructions are in the 2nd post. Look for the "included scripts" section.
I had a very similar problem with my epic touch. What I did was use mobile Odin to flash stock unrooted eko2.tar on my phone. Qbking77 has a YouTube video on this titled, UNROOT EPIC 4g touch latest. Then I took my phone to a sprint store and they replaced it for free. I suspected it to be a USB port problem. Good luck!
What happens if you did the first root that came out?

I'm not able to flash the .pit file using mobile odin, is that an issue?
Doing a system update should bring it hack to stock...theyre use to be some zips for that when this phone first came out....I believe I have the files needed to restock fork cwm somewhere...

no the pit shouldn't matter in your case. I only use it when I want to absolutely make sure all of my other roms I have flash have nothing left over. just remember after you have all your stuff off it, format your internal sd card. you can do this by first removing your external sd card( the one next to the battery). I just say remove it so there's no confusion. then in setting you can go to storage and format the usb. that way there isn't any personal data on your phone.
hey go to this website refer to steps 7-10 this tell you how to remove root, specifically super user, via adb and the command prompt

Stuck in stock recovery

Hello, I was on an ics rom and wanted to flash a different, so I mobile odined the el26 kernel which I thought it was the cwm one.... I guess not and now the only thing I can do is get to stock recovery and all that let's me do is apply an update. Is there anything I can put on the sd card ofu other phone and then swap that the recovery will let me flash? I know I can just odin when I get home but trying to do this from work. Thanks

You could put your phone into download mode and install one of sfhub's one click factory restores.
He has one for pretty much every version.
Latest Gingerbread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101
Latest ICS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671356
There is one kernel with CWM and one without it.
You'll have to wait until you get home. You have a GB kernel with an ICS ROM and that's why it won't boot all the way. And since you can't turn the phone all the way on Mobile Odin is out of the question. There really is no way to fix it without your computer.

This. You're going to have to use odin on a computer.

USB only works to charge/triangle away doesn't work/ can't revert to stock.

I'm currently running task650's current ROM and ktoonz newest kernel . I'm unable to connect my phone to my PC via USB. I've tried 3 different USB cables including the original one that came with the phone. I'm trying to revert to stock to swap out phone, but I can't flash through Odin(cant restore stock recovery) and triangle away won't let me reset flash counter. I'm at a loss for ideas, I've been looking through the forums for days and I can't find anything . I've tried flashing different ROMs/kernels with no luck.

is USB debugging mode on? did you make a nandroid when you first rooted? that would contain the original firmware you were using before flashing anything. are you connecting to your PC after putting the phone in download mode or recovery mode? just covering all the bases, buddy.
Yes I've done all the above, however during a flash of cm10 i soft bricked somehow...and lost all data on my internal.. So I no longer have my original nandroid I'm not new to flashing at all and never imagined that would happen I've learned to expect the unexpected now.

I've tried root66_Att_I747uckl3.tar.md5
Only ROM I've tried. I'll try another. I've tried the Samsung toolkit and it doesn't work properly cause I'm not getting proper connection. I have a theory that my USB doesn't work properly because my file directories are messed up on phone and are in a folder emulated/0/...

here's the thread for the stock firmware tars. if you're still able to get into download mode AND your device is recognized in odin, flash the appropriate carrier firmware.

Tried mobile Odin, it soft bricked my phone, had to plug in to a full charge before I could even get it back into recovery. The first 24 hours it wouldn't even go back into download or recovery... I thought I was going to have to get a new phone. Weirdest thing ever. Downloaded and tried a new stock firmware. I feel like I'm running out of options.. Lol and every time I triangle away I reboot and my triangle is back..lol

Was really hoping you'd find a solution to this. Sometime ago my phone's USB stopped working as well. It can still charge but the computer does not recognize it. My Googlefu has led me to believe this has happened to a hand full of people with Samsung phones.
Was hoping to flash stock Rom on my phone but I can't connect via Odin.
USB Cord matters...

Yes, Ive tried every USB plug under the sun. My phone sometimes gets detected by my computer, and I can browse files but if I try to copy something from it, it freezes half way through, then becomes undetechable. Ive tried to flash through odin but it never works....just get stuck then fails.

[Q] This is gonna take a genious to figure out!

ok i have a sprint 4gET flashed to cricket.. running Team Acheron's "Touched by an S4" (Awesome) after checking out some of the new roms coming out I decided to flash a few and check out the new cm10.1.3 and the jb4.3 systems... I am familiar with the procedures for flashing jb, ics roms and follow op directions to a t everytime..but today after losing data cable connections twice on an odin install my phone would not respond... after leaving batt and sd card out of phone for 2 hrs I was finally able to set phone into download mode.. flashed directboot recovery by cwm wich cot me to my sd card to reflash my trusty touched by an s4 rom but now when it boots up my samsung screen displays a totally diffferent model.. it says Samsung Sll GT-i9100 but in settings it still says sph-d710... how on earth did that happen and how can i change it...

Not true in all cases^^
some of the direct boot Odin & Mobile Odin files (EL26 or EL29) were originally made from the international phone source and when the kernal is flashed it will reflect the i9100 on boot up. This is normal if your phone is working properly. You can also one-click back to EL26 stock to get rid of it, but then you have to go through the process of re-formatting the partition.
If it is working fine, I would use Triangle Away. If not, you will probably need to start over with a one-click exe.

Need AT&T stock firmware

I'm trying to unroot my note too but the USB will not work is there a zip file I can flash that would take me back to stock ?
I doubt if there would be any zip available, but assuming you are rooted (you say you are trying to un-root) you could use Mobile Odin Pro (not free) or Mobile Odin Lite (free) to flash back to stock. It will recognize the tar and md5 stock files.

Do you have a charging port or cable issue ??
And make sure you are using a stock cable...as aftermarket cables can cause connection issues...
