Tsf shell. Blow u away! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Got to try this new launcher. Pricey tho. 17 bucks. Never seen anything like this.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

Boo that. $17 is rediculous and its not built on ICS, plus it's nothing new has been around forever.

I'm not a cheap person, I waste money daily, often on purpose, and never look for the best deal. But $17 for a launcher is ridiculous. /rant

Video looks good. Looks like something similar to other home screen overlays. I like the beta browser selection for quick controls. I'd like to see that standard in the whole OS.
EXT LTE Galaxy Nexus - 4.0.4
Asus Transformer - ICS

I played with it when they had the free beta up but as cool as it is... you might as well buy some Vaseline with that launcher. Don't get me wrong, it does look good though.

Is it true that it is not for ICS ?? Does it run smooth on ICS ? Its really expensive !

so do they run that on a beast of a PC in an emulator with a touch screen? That's the only way I can think of running all those graphics without any lag in that video.

Has absolutely no lag on my g nex its a totally new launcher. Settings are different nothing like u seen before. Learn again. Scrolling widgets like plume or even the ics widgets like email, photos won't scroll. Need to look into that asap.

I just bought it, runs super smooth on the GN. But unfortunately I won't be using it, to gimmick for me. I like the nice and clean ics stock launcher. If you into that kind of stuff go for it runs nice and smooth didn't notice any lag.

Haven't bought it, but shows up in my market. I have Verizon GNex running Gummy. Also says it is compatible when i look at the android market through my computer. Maybe it has to do with 4.04

Looks great but I'm not paying $17
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

Looks great, but not as impressive when it comes to usability. Looks and feels like a clunky miui launcher clone with a bit of polish. And for £10+ its poor value IMO. Really disappointed TBH.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

I agree - the transitions, etc are amazing, but the resolution seems blurry, the use of screen space is poor, and usability is lacking (twice the clicks to do anything).
Still, gotta admire their work, and I'll be keeping an eye on the updates.
Pricing seems like a bad idea, also. I'm sure that if they dropped it to $5 they would see way more sales...

Ad. 10chars...

I have to disagree on blurry icons etc. Transitions are cool. I don't have any lag or stutter running OC on lean kernel. I just downloaded it and will play with it some more throughout the day.

I am very happy with this phone

Today being Christmas I am thankful for this smartphone. Yeah there is always something better coming around the corner, but not to be greedy lets be happy with this awesome device.
Being rooted with a great ROM and cool ICS theme this phone is warp speed fast, with great battery life, and looks so damn cool.
Even compared to my buddies new Nexus, I honestly like this phone a bit better, for numerous reasons.
Merry Christmas

The thing I am so amazed at, is how far Android has come along in such a short time.
My first Android was the MyTouch 3G, which was very clunky and choppy, and just a couple years later I am holding this awesome Galaxy SII with 4.5" AMOLED screen that is razor thin and very lightweight.
Wow Android has come a long long way compared to those first year devices.

Definitely a great phone. Cant wait for what the future of android and the galaxy line holds. But a family member had his Nexus and I feel so much better. I already knew it was not worth jumping through hoops to get. But now I have no jealousy at all. Only things it has is ICS in pure form. It also feels a bit more solid.

My brother recently got an iPhone 4S and I got to play with it for a bit, and it made me really appreciate the GS2 that I have so much more. It's an amazing phone and I'm perfectly happy with the phone I have, finally.
I'm very happy with this phone. I haven't even rooted it yet and I'm not sure I have a reason to. Yet? lol
My only gripe is the slipperyness of the back cover. I have a case on order so I hope that will help it.

Thoughts after a few days with my SG2

Well - after a few days of playing with the phone, I think I'm going to keep it. It's not perfect, but the screen is great, and the 4g data speeds are awesome and only supposed to get better. The only other phone I want would be an iphone, but I can't justify the downgrade in data speed! Love Android, but as a mac user there's something attractive about the unity of it...think I might get an ipad and just steal the SG2's 4G I gotta say though, not sure if it's from using Sense for a long time or what, but I do not see what the deal is with Touchwiz. Aside from the neat effect of dragging your finger over the window indicator to zoom between screens, I can't discern one special thing about it. Decided to throw Go launcher on the phone and have been much happier so far. The phone is a beast though. Once I decide 1000% to keep it I'll root and see what's what.
When cm9 hits (hopefully) I'll be all over that.
wish i felt like you did about the phone, except the iPhone part I've had one and thought it was a POS but that's another story. I came from the sensation and the amaze 4g and I really miss my amaze the camera is just superior and the resolution is hard to get use to after having qhd I just can't stand how big font is mainly. I do like touchwiz alot though and the slimness and speed of this phone is incredible I'm torn about this phone right now.

Umm how u change dpi? For galaxy?
Current-*Samsung Galaxy S2 (Gingersnap v1.1)*|*Htc Sensation (rooted w/ XE Dr. Dre Beats Technology)*|*Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant (rooted w/ cm7)*|*Mytouch 4g (stock)*|*Mytouch Slide (stock)*|*Htc G1 (stock)
Changing the dpi doesn't fix anything because certain parts of the phone start to get blurry and it looks terrible. I also like touchwiz so by changing dpi the launcher starts to look terrible as well.

I miss my Galaxy Nexus :(

So I had the Verizon Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean and today I sold my nexus and bought the SIII. I never realized how much software matters over hardware! Sure the SIII has more ram and a slightly better camera but I will tell you while I miss my nexus!!!!!
1. Stock OS - I hate the fact why on my SIII I cant organize my apps into other app folders. I feel like I am running android 2.4 and not 4.04!
2. Jelly Bean- I love project butter (even though the Siii is still smooth) and I way prefer googles voice assistant alot more
3. Build- I think I am one of the few that prefer the the size and material of the nexus. Even though the nexus is close in size, I still feel the
S3 is just too big. Not to mention I prefer the rubberized feel on the nexus.
4. On screen menu keys. Just have not got used to the S3 and dont know if I ever will.
5. Ability to swap roms. Being that verizon has a locked bootloader on the S3 and there are no working Jelly bean roms, I feel by the time
Verizon upgrades to Jelly Bean I will be counting down the days till the Galaxy Nexus 4 comes out!!!!
*****Thinking about selling my S3, but dont want to waste an upgrade on a new phone so just may give it to family and buy my nexus back***
Bottom line.... I miss my nexus
That's why I did not buy it

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
even though you can slap a cyanogen onto a non-nexus device, it will took longer than on nexus. On Nexus, Google update new version, the longest you have to wait is one week before a build is surfacing. But nowadays our dev are super so it only took few hours lolz, and with pretty much everything working most importantly.
With non-nexus, NO~~ it took ages to wait for this driver, that source code wtf wtf bla bla bla~~ I've been there with SGS2 and One X, regretted my choice. and you cant enjoy the true feeling of AOSP too. you'll notice you need TW or Sense for a better hardware experience like the camera, etc etc.
oh as asdfasd2 said, yes i agree. Samsung does sucks with their source codes. CM was long enough on SGS2 and still, after they release the codes, devs are having headaches fixing what were supposed to be fixed. Luckily Nexus S and Gnexus are handled by Google, not them.
i must confess i was feeling a little tempted myself but ever since the nexus 7 release i cant take the damn table off my mind just waiting a couple of weeks to see if a nexus 10 is gonna be release but i cant wait a lo more

Thank god for Paranoid Android!
I like it. Going from phone to tablet should be seamless - everything in the same position on screen. We've grown to the Android tablet UI for about 20 months since Honeycomb first rolled out, and naturally this is a change. The design team had to give this serious consideration before making it happen, so there must be a solid rationale behind it all. One more step towards eliminating fragmentation.

Making the tablet experience the exact same as the phone one does not equal getting rid of "fragmentation" (that word gets throw around so much people are forgetting what it means but that's a different discussion). Other than a larger screen what advantage does a tablet have over a phone if it's the exact same UI? There isn't one. There should be some kind of distinguishing factors between the two types of devices or there stops being a point buying both when there are Phablets like the note out.
Damn resolution is higher than my 1080p laptop, can only see half of the full sized pics =P

Lag?

I have been experiencing some pretty annoying stuttering on my verizon galaxy nexus . I know, this is a development forum, but this is something I can not figure out. My galaxy Nexus has been lagging, or more lime stuttering. This is not the butter that I experience on my nexus 7. Is there anything I should try, or look out for? I have restored , installed different launchers, forced GPU rendering, but nothing seems to help. I do not think it is hardware, because my benchmarks are fine. What would you recommend me try?? I really didn't want to mess with my phone, but once I get home, if this doesn't work, I might just flash 4.2. Thanks

Cuz over time my phone was getting more and more bloated with useless files and finally I couldn't handle the lag and only saved my downloads and titanium folder and just wiped out everything.
Then afterwards flashed PA 2.53 and I just put those two files on and installed apps that were necessary. Phone was lightning again and no more FC.
Same with my dad when I flashed Pons CM10

I'll look around. Google currents lagged my nexus 7 so it is possible
I had two maps running in the background, and Verizon mobile. Closed those, and the phone seems a little bit better, but I will test more .the weird thing is I do not use those, but they arr launched by the application

I noticed that I had 2 maps running also. The freaking settings app was taking up 60mb worth of ram too.
