USB Tethering Question. - Samsung Captivate Glide

I have tethering working on my phone from rogers rooted and unlocked. The way I did it was to go to settings > wireless and network > Tethering and portable hotspot > USB tethering checked. Its working now cause im posting The problem I seem to have is when my screen timeout past 30 seconds and goes to the main slide screen I lose internet connection on my computer. It seems that the USB disconnects when my screen timeouts like that. When I put my screen timeout to 10 minutes its fine for 10 minutes but there's no longer option in the display section. Even if I hit the power button at the side I also lose internet connect. Can anyone help me??! Im running Android Version 2.3.5 and Kernel version 2.6.36.3 if that helps.

There is an option in Settings -> Applications -> Development, called 'Stay awake' which causes that screen will never sleep while charging. I think that should help

Wifi Issue - Won't turn "on"

Running WM 6.5 on a TMob Dash. Have the same rom on two phones but on the wifes whenever I go up to the connection slide and select Wifi. It says Disconnecting and then Wifi Off. The icon will never turn on red or blue. If I go into comm manager I can click on the Wifi and it will switch from Off to On but then it never pops up finding networks or even showing the icon on the main page as on. I have turned the power setting to Best Performance and unchecked the auto turn off after x mins. What could be causing it to not come on? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first post so if any other information is needed just let me know.

[Q] A really simple but stupid mistake!

So I was messing around with various options the other week in alquez's CM7 port and changed a setting so that when I unplug the phone from USB (computer or just charging) it turns the WiFi off. Not sure why I did it but I did!
Basically I can't find this option again! I've searched through all the settings and looked in relevant apps that may have this as a setting and can't seem to find it again!
Anyone know where these options are?
Thanks in advance for helping this fool!
try menu -> settings -> wireless and networks -> wifi settings -> menu -> advanced
sounds like wifi sleep policy is set to 'never when plugged in', set it to 'never'

[Q] Lock but keep screen on / disable WiFi power saver

Is it possible to lock the screen but keep it on? This is because the WiFi always loses connection when the screen is off. I have tried every app there is to keep the WiFi fully awake when the screen is off but none of them work.

Click to collapse
Settings > Wifi > Menu > Advanced > Wifi policy, You've tried that?
Yes. I have tried that.
Did u tried "no lock" apps from market, try that
"No lock" apps are not what I am looking for. I need it locked so I don't keep knocking things and the screen kept on or to find a way to disable the stupid WiFi sleep thing so it runs at full power even when the screen off. Is there a way to do this?
I have searched and found something that could disable the WiFi power saver at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16519177#post16519177 . Can someone check this and get it working on the HTC Wildfire S kernel version 2.6.35.10-ga66971c and 2.3.5 stock ROM?

Wi-Fi stops working every morning

Details:
Galaxy Nexus running CM 10 latest nightlies
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep, set to: Only when plugged in
Symptoms:
Every night, I leave my phone plugged in. Every morning, Wi-Fi isn't working. I have to reboot to get Wi-Fi back, until the next morning the same problem happens.
Wi-Fi icon is gone in notification bar.
Power widget Wi-Fi icon is white (ON).
Settings > Wi-Fi shows it as ON.
Settings > Wi-Fi is stuck on Searching for Wi-Fi networks...
I cannot 'disable' Wi-Fi via settings nor the power widget; it just returns to the 'on' position/icon.
Failed attempts to fix:
Factory reset
Toggle Airplane mode
Wi-Fi settings > Scan
Hit WPS button (get a failed msg immediately)
Some 'wifi fixer' app from Play store..
Toggle mobile data
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated! This has been driving me mad for a long time, and I have seen other people report this problem with no solution in sight.
Post dmesg.

HotSpot Tethering (Paid) via Wifi and USB Cable Shutting Off When Screen Shuts Off

Hi guys, hoping to get some feedback from Verizon HTC m9 owners.
With the OTA 6 (marshmallow) from t-mobile, wifi hotspot and usb tethering SHUT OFF when the screen powers off. Tethering is included in our plans. Lollipop 5.0.2 which came with out M9 stock had a few options inside the Power saver menu. One of these options was Data connection - Put to sleep when screen is off (See attached)
Tmobile then pushed 5.1 lollipop, the additional options disappeared from the Power Saver menu. The same hold true with the marshmallow 6.0 update.
So I was hoping a few verizon users could verify if these options exist in there menus?
Also does your wifi hotspot and/or usb cable hotspot continue to function if the screen on your phone goes to sleep?
