Tmbo prepaid 2G vs 4G - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I have an unlock T989 and if I get the prepaid tmbo 2G ($2/day) what is there maximum download speed I can get? I can opt for 4G ($3/day) if the 2G is to limited.
Thanks

with this phone you want 4g, providing you live in a 3g/4g area. 2g(edge) speeds are incredibly slow most of the time and with this power house you'll need 4g.

Unless you plan on using it for ONLY Call & Texting, you MUST have 4G. for this phone.

A monthly 4G plan would probably come out cheaper than the daily 4G plans

I'm using a 4G prepaid plan myself - $70 for unlimited talk/text , 5GB 4G limit.
I am in a 4G area - check out my sig for speeds!

Sprint 3g experience

I think it is perfectly fine too, but I have had sprint for 10 years and have nothing to compare it too
In a LTE market now and WOW have I been getting the old one eye from sprint previously!
I feel sorry for a lot of Sprint users that get dialup speeds. Lucky for me I get 1mb plus all day long, this morning I pulled over 2mb. I have been told that all wireless carriers here share the same internet connections. I know whatever I get on Speed test, so do my fam members on VZW or ATT.
Sprint's 3G is horrible. Up until 2 years ago, I was regularly getting about 1Mbps, good for CDMA. At $30/month on Sero, I was happy. Then it started slowing down. When I finally left I was regularly getting < 100Kbps and to top it off I was paying $50/month because I had an E4gT.
I am now on prepaid paying $50/month, getting 4-8 Mbps and happy.

I wouldn't have a clue on how to do this, but why would you go from Verizon to Verizon Jr.?

one reason the 4g coverage sucks and the 3g speed is a joke....Att 3g speed is just as fast as verizons 4g coverage here when i do get it....
Here's a funny fact about att you probably dont know. After 3gb a month on unlimited grandfathered. They throttle you to 2g speeds. Enjoy.

He's right, though- HSPA+ (what AT&**** claims is 4G) gets around the same download speeds as LTE... In general. LTE wins with ping and upload every time though. And HSPA+ really only makes it to 10-15mbps down, whereas my LTE down record is 64 mbps.

Im just in a jam i understand that att throttles you down...but my roommates speed on att 3g just kills my 4g when it is available ....Geez just may just stick it out...
This really is a first world problem haha... But Verizon vs. AT&T is a no brainer for me, especially when Verizon's LTE is held to FCC equality standards (among other things, Verizon cannot throttle you on their LTE, AT&T of course, can).
Why do you think they guy you want to trade with wants unlimited on Verizon?

Which carrier? AT&T has a higher threshold for data on LTE before you get throttled. (I presume you are still on one of the grandfathered unlimited plans?) You don't get throttled at all on a shared data plan.

I'm with At&T and I'm on a grandfathered unlimited plan..but why would I get throttled at home on 4g and not at work on LTE? That's what is odd to me...

From ATTs point of view, more customers are still on 4g than LTE, so they protect or ration the 4g more strictly.

The 4G data limits and LTE are different. LTE has greater backhaul capacity so they don't throttle as early as they do for 3/4G. If you had LTE at home you wouldn't be throttled while on it.
Your actually lucky cause they publish throttling LTE at 5 gigs.

That's what I thought. That the LTE throttle limit was 5 gigs, but I'm well over that and still no throttling on LTE. I'll check again in the morning when I get to work,I'm home now and in 4g and AT^T has the restricter plant on my 4g connection...
Search before you ask!!

Tmobile prepaid

Hey guys I'm on att prepaid which isn't horrible but 2gb of data cap is getting to me already lol is tmobiles prepaid plan truly unlimited or still has a 5gb cap?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
I'm on the $30/mo plan with 100 mins. Data is unlimited, but 4G speeds are throttled after 5gb
I am on the Simple Choice plan, I pay $63/mo and have truly unlimited everything.
Awesome . Just realized that the att one m8 doesn't have the AWS band so I'll have lots of dead spots where there isn't 4g. Ie( out of my city).
