I keep seeing people wanting Voodoo Sound or Voodoo Color and I don't know what it is? Could someone explain it to me? And why people would want it? I want to know how much better it makes our Epics by having them. Thanks!

Voodoo sound is kind of like an audio enhancer..bass and volume booster hifi sound quality etc. Voodoo color allows you to change the deepness of colors and shadows. As well as tune the rgbs and change the color warmth and coolness basically tuning an lcd tv for your phone

Voodoo lets you enhance your phones display/audio features by making whites whiter and darks darker. It also lets you enhance your phones audio for listening to music. Do a search around the forum, you will find more in depth info.
Big Goron always beats me by second.

Since I have JPC I make no use of the any sound Fix; at least not yet
What I actually do is customize equalizer like this:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_D-TrAknFa-U/TI..._equalizer.jpg
Then I go to "Effect" and enable "Wide" and depending on the quality of mp3 file I go for "Music clarity" instead..
If you got time to try this, tell me if you like it or not.

hmm thats pretty impressive but im also using this along with the fix and it sounds amazing
the only problem is im getting a little crackling with the wide effect
i must say bass enhancement is amazing with the bass beats
thanks for the eq though i must say enhances alot!
It sounds good, there is distortion though.
What i wonder is bass enhancement doesnt actually enhance bass.
I see that Voodoo sound is being implemented left and right... but what about the screen? Our device would benefit more from the screen than the sound, IMO.
If the voodoo sound is as good as it is supposed to be, awesome... as far as screen is that a video settings app??? I would really love a full suite of vid settings, including gamma etc... if I can feasibly watch movies I wanna ISF calibrate the display, one: because im retentive that way, and two: see what this bad boy can do with proper calibration...

Although it looked washed out (but super bright), I'm curious what BThomas did in his Epic ROM that altered the color. His was the first that I saw that had voodoo in there.
Does anyone know of anything I could flash or. Possibly change in the build prop to improve the speaker quality. Basically just trying to make my notification and ringers sound better overall.

Umm no, the speaker itself is the limitation, not software. Put a 3-way speaker in there and it will sound better, but obviously you aren't going to find a three way speaker thats less than a centimeter big.
Using cdma workshop you can change the volume levels of the speakers. Just do a search for it. Also u need to be on a sense rom to use dialer codes.
Support TrevE !!
Does anyone feel like poweramps bass is always too strong or is it just me? I've been usingpoweramp for a very long time and my equalizer is set to how I like it but lately even with all the bass settings to the lowest, bass is always too strong and it messes up the song. I thought it was my headphones but when I connected my phone to my car which also has an equalizer saved specifically for it the bass was too powerful. I just tried apollo and it seems to be a lot better. Is anyone else having problems with poweramp bass?

Poweramp seems to be working fine for me.

custom rom / kernel = voodoo sound
you could try going a different route for bass... voodoo sound, if you haven't already.
we have one of the best sound chips for any phone in our Epic 4g's, and it can use a special kernel-level sound driver, voodoo sound.
for voodoo sound to work, you need to run a voodoo sound enabled kernel (effsi makes one, compatible with CM 10.1 and/or slim rom, the two best Epic roms IMHO.
then with that in place, you can run voodoo sound (free) from play store. it has a bass adjustment setting that works at the kernel level, so applies to all programs I believe, and in a different way then regular EQ like in poweramp.
BTW, another program to check out for audio that is supposed to make MP3 sound better, by using more CPU to over/extra sample, is Neutron MP. I can hear a noticable difference playing music through it, and bought the pay version. I am on monster turbines, with custom fit made earplugs from Radians custom mold plastic ($10, google).
Ya I'm pretty sure poweramp has something to do with it because I tested it on my cousins epic who had the same bass problem as me with his headphones and regular speaker and apollo doesn't have a blown out bass or the disorted sound.
I already use voodoo and know that it effecs my headphones but I understand what the problem that I'm having is. I'm pretty sure poweramp is my problem but I'm not sure why exactly.

Neutron MP really sounds different from the rest, thanks for the heads up!
Hi guys,
so one thing has been bothering me since I plugged my earphones into my Z1C - the sound quality. I used to own a Walkman mp3 player and I loved its sound quality, but it's less than half of that in my phone. I don't get as many bass if any at all when using crystal clear sound or whatever it's called. If I manually turn the bass down, it increases by a small amount, but the overall sound quality goes down significantly. Is this a common problem? (or a problem at all?) What do you think? Do you enjoy your music experience or do you try to fight it? Is there any way to make music sound better without installing any 3rd party players?
Have a nice day.
Comparing to sgs 2 for me crap... Sound from my Sgs2 was much much better on same headphones

Exactly the same story here.
The clear audio + mode sounds terrible in my opinion. I'm using the Unique and bass boost equalizer presets in sound enhancements. They sound much closer to my Walkman.
if you have root you can install viper fx and inside it there is an option to configure a lot of thing and mod sound in headphone i dont use it but everyone in viper fx thread confirm that it makes a miracle so maybe it's worth to try
Pathetic Sound Quality
Is there any mod to get deeper bass & clear highs????
Try:

- eXtremeBeats: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634729
Wasn't planning to root at the moment. However problem solved - Poweramp.
