You cannot update by SEUS or OTA with an unlocked bootloader.. Why don't u simply flash the latest ROM?
If u want SE updates.. You'll have to Relock bootloader (check Namaste guide thread for it) with stock ROM (2.3.2) .. root .. then update OTA (Again check the Namaste guide thread for this too)
Note: Root does not need unlocked bootloader..
thanks Bro.
i have relock the bootloader.
and update into 2.3.3....
if i want to root, then i have to downgrade to 2.3.2 then update it into 2.3.3?

Hi,
i have Xperia ARC phone with:
1. bootloader unlocked
2. blendmiui v09 kernel.
3. [ROM] Avicho MIUI For Arc [2.1.13] installed
The phone is working well but can i use PC companion to restore the phone to the latest ROM available for ARC ?
Thanx
You can't upgrade/restore the rom from se pcc if your bootloader is unlocked...
If you want to return to stock rom , just flash the ftf files found in the forum with flashtool..
You can also relock the bootloader and then update the firmware from pcc.

Hello Guys
I saw this custom rom ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599906
so my question is if I installed this ICS custom rom
and I didn't like it can I back to the original firmware via flashtool ?
and does this custom room needs unlocked bootloader .
Thanks
If its an ICS you will need a kernel, so you will need an unlocked boot loader to flash the kernel, every time you see this rom requires this kernel, you will need an unlocked bootloader

Dont Try this method if it says Bootloader unlock allowed "no"
If it says that, you need to pay, like i did
im in stock GB with unloked bootloader
If i update my phone using pc companion....
will I have to re unlock my bootloader..????
U cant update with an unlocked bootloader. Some ppl said that it will kill ur phone. But, in my experienced, a pop up alert message show up at my pc screen saying "phone cant update coz a few stuff has been altered" or someting like that.
So...u need to relock ur bootloader, update, then unlock again

Im having custom kernal and root...
Should I have to remove them aswell...
Thanx for replying.....
Geez people, you should research before this.
Here's a thread in the General section with How to install and root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683957
That's for Stock ROM and Kernel.
If you wish, you can flash the ROM, then use fastboot to install a custom Kernel from the development thread which most likely will have CWM that allows you to flash RootXperia.zip and that's about it.
Unlocked bootloader makes everything easier.

I recomend u flash a stock GB firmware first, for example firmware .42, and then u relock the bootloder. After that, update, and the unlock the bootloader again

If you have an unlocked bootloader, why not just flash the 4.0.4 ICS using Flashtool? There's no point in locking your bootloader, then updating and again unlocking it.
Just flashing the .ftf is much simpler and doesn't waste your time.
