[Q] Cannot install certain apps no matter how. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Yesterday I found that certain apps on my phone crash right after I launched them, including Kindle, Apparatus and some other apps.
I uninstalled them to see if re-installing could solve this, however it turned into the situation that I cannot install these apps any more no matter how
I tried re-installing them by Android Market, it just say the package file is not valid.
I tried launching the APK from file manager, it ends up with "app is not installed".
I tried using Titanium Backup to restore my previous backups, Titanium Backup just gets stuck with these apps.
I tried copying the APK file into /data/app, but after a reboot those APKs in /data/app simply disappear.
I tried using adb install command as well, the result is "INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT“
I have wiped my phone for many times, I even tried reflash Rom and Baseband. For once it worked after a Rom flashing, but after a reboot it bacome faulty again

TitaniumBackup restore failed after flashing Oxygen

I've got a pretty strange problem over here.
I've just flashed Oxygen 2.1.2 and was trying to restore the data of my downloaded apps (of course not the system apps...) using TitaniumBackup. I was using InsertCoin2.1+3.0 v25 before. For some reason, the restore process did not finish correctly for some apps (Astrid Tasks, PocketCloud, 3g watchdog pro, and several other)
TitaniumBackup pretents the restore was successful but when I launch the app in question there's no data. Just like if i've installed it from the market.
I've done some research using adb.
I've installing the app (in this case 3g watchdog pro) from market and used it for a while.
Using adb shell i've navigated to /data/data/<app>/ and the data was there. (ls showed some stuff in there)
Then i've restored the backup of 3g watchdog pro. After that, ls pretends that the directory containing the data is empty and launching the app shows the welcome screen (=no data)
Something that is even more strange:
pwd returns the direcory i'm in.
So "cd <output of pwd>" should do nothing. After that, ls show the data restored by TitaniumBackup.
Any ideas what just went wrong?
That's weird. I assume you have rebooted at least once?
You could try restoring the apps and data via google cloud backup? When you flash a rom or restore a backup, during the registration process there is an option to backup and restore from google servers. Did you check that when registering?
I never used this feature and dont want to use it either.
Update: manually extracting the backup tar and copying it to the proper location does not help either. Same thing as described above.
Push your previous libsqlite.so file from your old ROM into /system/lib. Then reboot and repeat your restore w/data.
That did the job, thanks. Do I have to push that lib everytime I update Oxygen from now on?

Unfortunately yes. The library on your old rom is newer than the one used in your new and any stock rom.
Aright, thanks again =)

[Q] Titanium Backup

When doing a batch restore Titanium backup reboots my phone. I've tried the problems button and installed a different version of busybox. It has happened across multiple roms. It only happens when trying to restore certain apps. I've tried just restoring apps without data and I only restore user apps no system apps. Any ideas?
Which apps cause the reboot?
Have you tried downloading those apps from the market and restoring data?
One example is the Jumpgate free live wallpaper. I can download it from the market and install it. Does it hurt my phone at all when Titanium causes it to reboot?
It shouldn't reboot, doubt any permanent damage but it would make me concerned
Instead of doing a batch have you tried to install just that app by itself... also the data might be corrupted... the restarts shouldn't affect the phone as long as you have everything saved.

I have tried the app by itself and it works. I've ran the verify backups and it says all is good so I'm assuming the data is good. I've tried a different SD card. As long as the reboot doesn't hurt the phone at all I can put up with it although it is an annoyance.

[Q] Insufficient storage error

I have looked at all the other related threads but they are not helping me.
Situation;
I installed a custom rom...had issues so i used Rom Manger and used recovery. Used Titanium backup to reinstall aps.
After a while (day later)Rom Manger became unresponsive so I uninstalled it. When I went to re-install the error came up of insufficient storage.
Phone was back to a happy rooted state so I figured I would also uninstall Titanium Backup. Same error when I tried to install it.
However after that I tried other apps and all other apps from the market will install including Rom Toolbox.
I have rebooted. Removed all trace's(so I think) of Rom Manager and Titanium Backup, rebooted and tried again but same error.
Ive deleted market apps and reinstalled them with no issues.
Im sure Ive missing somthing simple but im weary to start messing to much without some advice.
Hope you guys can point me in a good direction.
Can you screen shot the error?
I would recommend the following:
1) go into settings, apps, and clear market data/cache
reboot and try again. If that doesn't work
2) Fix permissions and try again.
Solution found
Found the solution and all is installed and working.
1. Manual find and clear dalvik-cache
2. Find and delete .odex file of the app you are trying to re-install. Only seemed to be an issue with [root]apps.

This is a common error that occurs with the Play Store sometimes after flashing ROMs without wiping data, or with an incomplete un-installation (apk corruption, etc.)
Simple to fix:
(I'm assuming you're rooted, chances are you are if you get this error)
- YOU'LL LOSE YOUR DATA FOR THAT APP (You would have done anyway, if it was uninstalled properly) -
1.) Using a root file manager, go to /data/data
2.) Find the package name of the app you're wanting to install
(Don't know the package name? Find the app you're wanting to install on the Play Store online and it's in the URL)
3.) Delete that folder. All of it.
4.) Try to install your app again, it should work now
5.) If you like, hit the thanks button
Already done that mate.. but still get the error with titanoum, data/data is empty now

[Q] "Google play store has stopped working"

Hello!
I recently get this error probably after I rooted my device, whenever I try to download something from play store. When I click install or click accept (after clicking install) I get this error (10/10 cases). Then I keep getting it on a random basis. I deleted the data and cache (even rebooted between each one), then went to play store. It shows the apps and works for a long period of time (but eventually shows the error). But when I try to download something, I happens again. I checked the Download Manager and it is enabled.
I had backed up the play store using Titanium backup, then wiped its data and then uninstalled it from the system. Don't ask why lol.
But when I tried to restore it, Titanium backup was stuck at its progress. Then I had to place the APK of the backed up play store (the updated version of the play store (5.0.31) not the factory version.) in the /system/apps/ and set the rx- r-- r-- permissions. I checked the Titanium backup backup file and apparently it had some data for the data/data path. So I manually put it there and set the permissions like any other folder that is there. Keep in mind that I tried to reboot in between each attempt.
I used OpenVPN to access it but no luck.
Tried to delete dalvick-cache folder, but that didn't fix it neither.
Booted into safe mode, cause I thought maybe some of the applications are causing this like Xposed, Greenify and SetCPU (which I uninstalled just in case). This again didn't do it.
I rooted the device with Kingo root using a pc.
Android is 4.4.4.
My only guess left is that I should find the factory version of the Google Play that was installed?
As you can see I'm kind of running out of options here.
Could somebody offer an advice besides factory reset and being careful next time??
