Hey guys,
Anyone have this device? Can a subforum be opened?
It's excellent - I just got it and there's a lot of work to do
I added info at the XDA Wiki...

it has been out for a loooong time, there is another device similar to the Beam was on July, the other one was on March
both are for Europe market
they don't seem to be very popular
they are from the 8000 family, although the spec are very close to the Galaxy S 9000 family

Few weeks back I came across a review of this phone on youtube. Even though it was announced early this year (and GSM arena says its already available), I didn't find any information indicating that this phone is actually available on the market. I was looking for it's price.

good idea
Just bought mine a week ago from StarHub (the official retailer for galaxy beam).
I second the subforum idea. How about starting a google group as well since the community is so small.
For those who wish to purchase the phone:
You need to place a reservation at StarHub Center before making the purchase. It takes about a week before your phone is ready for collection.
I was lucky enough to get it immediately because someone cancelled his reservation.
waiting for mine, deseperatly ....
i'll check with Admins and Sr Mods to see if they want to create a new forum for it
That's great! Thanks man.
nocomp: you may try bugging their hq at cuppage road. They might just have an extra handset lying around like mine. Haha
i ve bought it from a local shop in singapore, they were agree to send it to me to france.
still waiting for the delivery...... the singapore post tracking service, isn t much alive since 2 days......
i guess that ll be a change from my nexus, what i am pissed of, is that you can t use an app that use camera and projector in the same time
it seems that what has to be done, (part of find a way to upgrade it to froyo):
get gps working when projector is on
get projector working when camera is on
can you tell me if the galaxy beam has also the tv out like galaxy s?
best regards
herve
I have some bad news for you. Samsung has officially stopped software support for that device last month and said there's no plans for official froyo for it as there's just not enough beams out there to warrent the support as it was only sold in Singapore and very small numbers. They now have all development on tablet and galaxy s models. Google for more info. I read that last month someplace

hi
thxx a lot, that news has been goin on here and there fr a while, surely some ppl can adapt 2.2 to the beam model.
i finally received mine )))
bad news, impossible to install an application from android market :'(
never happend before with the nexus, i get the message "unable to download" either i am in wifi or 3g
any idea why?
herve
Hmm never had a problem with market. Have you tried replacing the stock market app with a generic one from ipmart? Perhaps it's locked down to Singapore or something.
Topic moved to General until and if a new proper forum comes into place for this device.
hi,
well i ve took sim card off n sdcard off, and then it was working over wifi.
put the simcard back again and market was working.
no idea wtf happend.
hi,

My phone is running the same firmware version as yours. It's released on 1 Sept which is more recent than the July version on that blog.
hi,
thx for the news, so if there is an update it ll appear in the "about" section right?
do you know any trick/tweak for allow to run gps when using projector?
herve
Probably, but I doubt there will be any more updates since the beam is not getting froyo. Hopefully I'm wrong...
I'm not aware of any tricks but if you have the time and expertise try editing the source code? Haha I'm no expert either.
Hey, I just wondering, but none discussed about a dual sim adapter being compatible with galaxy nexus, something like this:

Looks like these guys do....

I've got products off them before so can vouch for the service

why did you bump a year old thread?
Google landed me on this thread.. So didn't create separate thread for the same query... And hoping that someone would be using the same thing.

Will the Samsung EDD-H1F8BEGSTA multimedia dock made for the Verizon nexus work for the Rogers nexus? (i925)

EDIT : Sorry I should have been more specific I'm looking for an HDMI/MHL mirroring solution as I play lots of games while also being able to charge the battery at the same time, I would also like to do all this while DOCKED, too many threads and yes I have searched before anybody suggests! Too much confusing and incomplete information.

Thanks eddy! Figured I'd give it a shot anyway I just like to get other peoples opinions in case they have tried and succeeded or failed.

There is a tiny gap in one and to pop off the cover. There are 5 contacts on the other side. So it is some kind of a port. There probably is a manual with info for usage sent to the OEMs is my guess.

Oh yes that is exactly what I'm talking about. Interesting. So it is a service port then. Thanks!
You can do stupid things... :cyclops:
Logging...
With Combination Firmware in theory dump partitions...
Backup of User partition...
Both with RDX Tool + USB...
RDX is here:

Example if Combination Firmware Engineer sboot on device:

Here only Gear S3... but Galaxy Cr ehm Watch should be able to do similar things...
Best Regards
Can that port get wet? The little cover piece broke and It's uncovered all the time, but it haven't got in contact with water so far, the watch works perfectly fine, but I'd like to know if I can use it normally or if I should keep being careful.
