[Q] 3G Drop after disabling Wifi - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm having a strange (but known apparently..) issue about my data connexion.
In fact when I come back from Wifi, 3G is disabled until I switch the flight mode and type my PIN again.
Do you have any workaround for that ?
I'm on BlackICEv1.27 [2.3.7] with LordModUE8.7CFS-b2 kernel and it was already the case with previous rom or previous version of blackice/kernel etc..
Thx

Did U try to go in settings and check the network type?

Update maybe it can works... If U have some app to shortcut to your settings, for changing network type, uninstall that, then go to recovery and clear dalvik cache.. I had the same prob yesterday and now seems to be fixed..

WiFi connection problems
Hi there,
Same here! (home: connection = OK, but no data will pass through; office: connection = OK and data fully functional).
Have been looking around a bit for WiFi problems and Gingerbread. Haven't come up with any solution so far, but the problem seems to be Android 2.3.3 and HTC twitters they are on it.
Which won't help so far...
Tried a patch too, but that didn't bring any solution neither...
BTW: they do say it has to do with WiFi dropping below -88dB. Well, I'm almost sitting on top of my WiFi Access point, so that can't be the problem neither.
Regards,
delete your SSID (or select "forget"), whichever option you have.
reboot the rooter.
Try again.
i did hard reset to my modem but no success. Is there a particular way to delete ssid?
I had similar problem when my SSID was on hidden.
Could that be the issue here?

Sorry to say your solution didn't do the trick for me.
It still bothers me why the signal and reception quality are super, connection is established but data won't flow
Regards
Same issue here, going to go back to 2.2.1 see if that makes any difference
well thats strange, any 2.2.1 froyo rom including stock and custom WiFi works perfectly, any 2.3.3 rom and my wifi refuses to process any data
any ideas guys?

[Q] Wireless problem on the Desire HD

Hi,
Iv noticed if i leave the wireless inactive for a period of time (still connected at full strength) it will stop working as in there will be no data activity at all. I wont be able to access any websites, or use whats app messenger. The only way to resolve this problem is to switch the wireless off and back on again for it to reconnect and normal data activity begins.
Android version: 2.3.3
Software number: 2.50.405.2
I have the latest software installed including the recent wireless fix that was sent out OTA. I thought that would of fixed it, but clearly not.
Does HTC know about this and any fix in the pipeline?
Anyone????
Go to > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings
in Wi-Fi settings press menu > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy and set to never
Hope That Works.

Oh...my radio is: 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2
The Radio you have is fine..
this can be one of the following problems
1. your phone software is playing up
2. your Wi-Fi router DHCP leasetime (google this) is too low hence the drop out.
3. your Wi-Fi antenna is not functioning as it should (I doubt it)
What I would suggest is try updating your phone software to the latest. if you already have the latest version then I would suggest you backup any important data saved on phone and do a Factory data reset under Setting > SD & phone storage, if that still doesn't work I would check your router settings step 2, try everything I've mentioned if all else fails........
You can always root your phone and Install a custom ROM. I used to have so many problems with the stock HTC rom: gps not fixing, bad reception, call history problems, system slowdowns now I am Using Android Revolution 5.2.5 with Radio_12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M Excellent reception NO PROBLEMS and a very fast and healthy phone

Hi thanks for that! I think its due to the software installed on the phone. Before the froyo update, the server lease time was exactly the same and no problemo. Its just recently after I installed froyo things started messing up with the wifi. But iv selected the 'Best Wi-Fi performance' option and it seems fine so far, no inactivity.

[Q] Problem with data network - DHD

Hi guys
I have problem after rooting DHD with AAHK with gprs/EDGE data and 3G data. GSM works fine, WiFi, GPS also but I cannot turn on data over mobile network. Tried different ROMs, flashing different radio versions, return to stock rooting again and still nothing. Tried to change APN settings, pull off the battery also but no luck. Also I tried with *#*#4636#*#* to switch radio off no luck. Is there any way that I can troubleshoot this to find out what is causing the problem. My radio version is
12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Sabsa Prime V8.0 - tried CM7.2, stock, Revolution HD, Jelly Time, Pacman Jelly... no luck
Thanks in advance for any help
I think the problem is with your APN settings. Something like this happened to me recently and it was because my APNs were messed up. Try this app to save your APNs. Maybe there's some error in what you're manually entering. I see no other reason as to why your mobile data shouldn't work on any ROM, especially if you're getting a signal.

Thanks on your reply. I found that the problem was with my operator, because they disabled the data service for my account. I thought that problem is with my phone but it was on their side. Thanks again

[Q] Wi-Fi shutting off in Provision/included kernel

Hey there. I'm using Provision 5.0 PrimoC (Jan 24), and it's great except for two things - the pulldown bug (known) and this wifi issue. Phone connects no problem to home wifi but then overnight loses the signal and then won't detect new wifi networks at all.
I'm guessing this is a kernel issue - I'm using the boot.img (SuperSick) included with the ROM, and had this same problem with SuperSick and PACman (my last daily ROM). Any ideas? Everything else works fine, it was a clean wipe install with no issues at all.

I usually just reboot or keep messing with it and it kicks back on.

When your WIFI is working go to your System Settings => WIFI => Hit your menu button => click Advanced => Keep WIFI on during sleep "Always". Sorry we need to post it in the OP but it's on page 7 of the thread.

Great - indications are that is working just right! Didn't think that would be disabled by default - one of the few control menus I didn't explore, since it's buried pretty deep. Thanks a lot.

"LTE !"

Hey all, hope you are having a good weekend.
the problem that I am having is that my phone is showing that it's detecting LTE data, but nothing will load with it because most of the time the icon indicates "LTE !" This problem started about a week ago and I'm unsure if this is a carrier data network issue or something to do with my phone. I am running cm13 and here are a few of the things I have tried:
-factory reset data
-restore to backup of a time when my phone worked properly
-advanced wipe data, system, cache, etc. everything except internal and external storage
-do the previous but install the latest version of cm available with gapps
none of these attempts successful. anyone dealt with this before? any input appreciated

There is an option somewhere in settings to enable only LTE or 4g. Did you set it to 4g/LTE only to see what happens ?

Yeah it was already set to Lte only. I also tried switching it to 3g and then back to Lte only to see if that would make a difference. another thing i tried was taking out the sim card and re inserting it

Okay so if it's not the network ...then it could be the modem image itself. Did you come from stock or an another custom ROM to cm 13 ?.

Just turn on and of AirPlane Mode. Then it'll work fine. Just a DNS bug or something. Not really a bug deal.
