No Ice Cream Sandwhich?
"Not all LG Android phones will get the upgrades. Noticeably absent from the list was AT&T's recently released LG Nitro HD, T-Mobile's LG G2X and the LG Thrill 4G."
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/tec...android-ice-cream-sandwich-upgrade-plans.html
It's going to happen with AT&T's blessing or not and from the looks of things from a recent Google+ post from a CM developer, sooner than Q2 of this year.
Just read the rest of the article:
However, these phones may yet get the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade since they are rebranded versions of phones that are scheduled for updates. The Nitro HD is a rebranded version of the Optimus LTE, the G2X is a redubbed Optimus 2X, and the Thrill 4G is a renamed Optimus 3D.

AT&T could drag their feet on it. It will get ICS, its really just a question of timing.

That's right, confirmed yesterday with a release date of November 13th, the Google Nexus 4 will be a 4.75" Quad Core Snapdragon S4 device marketed by LG.
I know I and many in the HTC Community were looking forward to the supposed HTC Branded Google Nexus 5 (ie HTC Incredible DLX).
The LG branded Google Nexus 4 will not feature 4G LTE capabilities and looks like it won't feature 4G at all. It will offer Android 4.2, 2GB RAM, wireless charging and other features. More can be found here

After reading about it and looking at the pics im stumped. Did iPhone let LG put their logo on their phone? I mean come on seriously? Encased in glass? What's next an iPhone/android hybrid that runs windows??

They are not supporting 4G because of the updates and making the firmware for all that Verizon crap and cdma bullsh*t
So they just wanna do it to provide fast updates and easy as its unlocked

Pretty sure the LGNexus 4 also only comes in 8gb and 16 gb models... with no sd card. That right there did kind of turn me off of it. One reason I'm not a big Apple fan...
Here's the Google Play store page for it Nexus 4
I was looking forward to the Nexus 4. I was so sad when I found out there was no 4G and it would not be on Verizon. Haven't had a Nexus device yet. Guess now I'm for HTC DNA or whatever they decide to call it...
The simple fact is is that Verizon does not support timely updates or unlocked devices. Its also common knowledge that LTE is a huge battery hog. My brother has T-Mobile HSPA+ 42 and has no problems streaming Netflix, which is what most people complain about. Besides, LTE is only available in 8 countries worldwide and even in those countries its only available in certain areas.
Can someone please fix the ****ing thread title?
Loses

Couldnt find relevant thread but curious as to if nexus 4 has unadvertised LTE capabilities (atleast of canadian carriers), why isnt Optimus G pentaband like nexus 4. I guess answer can be as simple as different hardware but AFAIK they're based on same hardware, aren't they?
Simple...the Nexus 4 does not have LTE
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Usually you cant boost all frequencies with only 1 amplifier.
And as i know, Nexus4 doesnt have one and has poor LTE reception.
The radio itself supports every wireless format (Gsm/wcdma/cdma/lte) as i know.
So its question of guaranteed quality i guess. And some royalties need to be payd

It has LTE in Canada.
My optimus G have LTE... optimus g L-01E
Same question on my mind actually.
With Wind Mobile up here in Canada. Uses the AWS frequencies like T-Mobile.
Would the AT&T Optimus G work if I plugged my sim in?
Here's an interesting report, a new LG model showed up at the FCC, the LS-980, first tri-band LTE phone with Sprint frequencies to be approved by the FCC, is this going to be a new LG Optimus G coming to Sprint?
Link: http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/article.php?a=12696
The FCC approved the LG LS-980. The phone supports all three frequency bands Sprint plans to use for LTE in the coming years. It's the first such phone to gain the FCC's approval, although the company Sprint currently uses the 1900 band (band 25) for LTE, but in the coming year will start deploying LTE in the 800 and 2500 bands the company acquired from Nextel and Clearwire, respectively. FCC documents show that the LG LS-980 also supports CDMA, as well as GSM and WCDMA for global roaming. NFC is also included. The FCC approved a potentially related VS-980 phone with Verizon frequency bands the day before.

A smartphone bearing the model number LG LS980 has just passed through the FCC, and it's a dead ringer for a G Pro destined for Big Yellow. Not only does its model number jive with the other carrier-specific incarnations of LG's device, but it packs support for Now Network-friendly CDMA and LTE over band 25, alongside the usual GSM radio. There's no telling when the Now Network will start offering the phone, but federal approval means it's clear to arrive when LG pleases.

I'm contemplating on purchasing this but I'm unsure of how well the development for this device will be. But for Triband it'll be AWESOME! We'll see what the specs are before I decide, though.
Yeah I will buy this device if there is enough development following. The weird thing is I feel that my lgog is better than any HTC phone I've ever had and its much better looking than anything out there. I absolutely hate the galaxy phones. Wish more people felt like me so we would have a bigger dev field. Thanks to those that do!

After purchasing this phone, I think I may stick to LG. I just read an article on flipbook that they are coming out with a G branded Tablet, Hub, and TVs. The G2 looks promising, and the phone above sounds promising. The article also stated that LG smartphones did very well this year, better than any other. IMO the G was the sleeper of 2012/13 thus far. After using this phone I'd def buy future G series phones.
If this does end up being the G2, it will be my next phone. My wife just upgraded to the Optimus G from an Optimus S and I am very impressed with her phone. I'm still rocking the OG EVO just waiting for a worthy upgrade that supported triband LTE. It looks like this phone will fit the bill!

Went from the LG Optimus S for 2 years then to the Galaxy Nexus for 2 months because I saw the new OG. Almost a year with my baby. If this truly is the G2 then this will be my next phone.

Been hearing about this for months now and still no joy for D850 owners???
No US carrier-branded versions have it yet. And believe me, if there was any news, you would have heard it by now.
Everone in north America with lg g3 got burned.
Just a couple stfu updates for a few carriers
Early 2015 thats what lg keeps saying.

I have the sprint variant but its pretending its an at&t one by only letting me flash GEEB ROMs instead of the sprint ones. How the heck do I change this? Phone broke so I'm back to my optimus G and haven't messed with this phone in literally years. Forgot a lot.
