I just redid my whole phone. I'm on el29/calkulin 2.9 the market place won't stop crashing, i can't get it to install or update anything. I wiped my dalvik, replaced the market apk and cleared its updates and cache. WTF is wrong with it?
Did you flash the latest gapps and/or try to fix permissions?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Also try clearing the cache.
I thought Calk didn't need gapps
wiping cache and fix permissions made it worse. all it says now is process.com.android.vending closed or whatever the instant i try anything
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I would start from scratch with a new flash. Skip restoring backed up apps, install them from the market, then scrap your app back ups and make new ones.
just did, now it doesn't crash, but it still can't install anything

I did a quick google search for you and found c couple of things you could try out..
--------------------------------------------------------
i did end up fixing it by logging on the android market place on my computer https://market.android.com/?hl=en then i signed in using my gmail account and started installing a bunch of apps and some how it started getting pushed to my phone. and then within like 15 mins, i could just brows the market place on my phone and download and install apps. so my recommendation is to try installing a bunch of apps via the marketplace using your computer and then wait 15 min and then try it on your phone....

Hey i had been searching a week for a solution to this problem and this worked for me
"SOLUTION:
NOTE: You WON'T lose all your installed apps if you do this (at least I didn't). However, if you clear the data for Settings, you will lose your preferences. Try doing it w/o clearing the data for settings, then if that fails do it again and clear the Settings data.
1. Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
2. Press All (or Show All, etc.)
3. Clear Data for the following Apps (if data is clearable):
- Account and Sync Settings
- com.google.andriod.feedback
- Gmail (and Gmail Storage if it is there)
- Google Services Framework
- Google Voice
- Maps
- Market & Market Updater
- Network Location
- News and Weather
- Search
- Sound Recorder
- Talk
- TTS Service
- Voice Search
- VPN Services
- World Newspapers
- YouTube
- Settings (Settings will close when you clear its data)
I don't use the email client app (not the Gmail app but the one simply called 'Email'), so I don't know if you'll need to clear its data or not. If all else fails, try it (I imagine you'll lose any downloaded emails).
4. Clear the data for any apps associated with any of the above listed apps.
5. Clear the data for any other applications affiliated with Google or your Google account.
6. Clear the data for any applications that aren't uninstallable, i.e. 'built-in' applications.
7. Reboot and you're done. Google Talk should work correctly now.
I'm sure this is overkill. Some of these apps may not have anything to do with the problem but when I cleared the data for them and rebooted, Google Talk worked correctly. Also, I am using an Archos 70 IT so you might have some different requirements for this procedure on your phone/tablet. BTW I got the Google Talk error when I changed the password on my primary Google account.
Good luck!" via dumb_nobody on the xda-developers forum
Hope this helps, i was going insane and this finally worked.
--------------------------------------------------------
Deleted my google account, rebooted phone. Clicked market, re-added my google account and it was sorted!

Hi,
I installed Titanium Backup Free version and tried to use it but it did not work.
I use Gingerbread XXJVS with Semaphore Kernel 1.7.0 (2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVS-CL565837) with Superuser 2.3.6.1 and busybox 1.16.2android minimal.
I made backups with batch processing and option "all apps+system data" (I translate from polish so just to let you know it is the 3rd option in backup section) and then uninstalled the backed up SocialHub 1.00.10102 system app.
When I try to restore it the popup message "Restoring app+data" appears and it does not go any further.
- It does not work neither with v4.4.0 nor the version prior to that (i updated in the meantime).
- It does not work with Superuser 3.0.
- Enabling /system as rw in Terminal Emulator did not help (i found this suggestion somewhere else)
- I cannot change the Settings-> Apps processing mode as suggested here by the author of TiB:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=92719462&pp=25&page=2
"Try setting the Apps processing mode to "AUTO, Indirect" and enable USB debugging in your phone settings. "
It is grayed and marked as [PRO only]. I do have USB debugging on.
- Both Busybox and sqlite are internal from TiB. changing option to use system's busybox did not change anything.
Any suggestions how to solve that, please?
Hi,
Yes indeed, it appears you have tried pretty much everything already. This seems to happen on a few devices
If you reboot your device afterwards, does the system app appear as installed or not?
PS: you might want to contact the Titanium Track support directly, at support -=at=- titaniumtrack.com

I assume you tried the "AUTO, Indirect" mode already, right?
Is the app present after a reboot or not?
I've tried everything...
I'm using 2.3.5 JVS with cf-root...
After a reboot the "restored" app ISN'T present...

This might be a stupid question, but are you sure your phone is S-OFF ?

Hi again,
Nothing changes after reboot (see below, mind the Social Hub only).
When I go to titaniumtrack_com it redirects me to wordpress-based login page which requires login+pass. Shall I provide something for anonymous users there?

Hmm, this is strange indeed.
Yes, the Titanium Track web site is not ready yet, but you can send an e-mail to support -=at=- titaniumtrack.com
Ok I sent an e-mail there with info from this thread.
It might be worth to add a switchable logging/debug feature to the app to see where it gets stuck.
Today I tried to restore with fresh TiB 4.5.1 and new su 3.0.2 without and with /system as rw. Still nothing.
Has anyone from titaniumtrack.com received e-mail?
My titanium backup pro hangs the same way when trying to restore the motoblur Homescreen app ... droid 3
no idea how the app was removed in the first place when i simply just froze it -.-
TiB 4.5.2 + su 3.0.4 still nothing
The same with latest TB Pro in my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
Damn, why did I buy this app! I can't restore my backups now!
I contacted the developer the day I made the previous post and he haven't replied yet.
What an awesome support!
I wrote him a week ago and got response. They test it on sgs2. Which rom and kernel do you use?
I want to flash newer if that is worth it but first I want to ensure TiB works properly.
I've the same issue on a Samsung/Droid Charge. Just got this from TiB support:
We're sorry, system apps are critical and should not be removed in the first place. Some apps are tightly ROM bounded, while others are dependent on other system entities which could break things when they are removed. We have already provided the warning in the preferences that you will be held responsible of your own actions upon removing the system apps and we will not provide support for restoring them back. In most cases like this, you will have to reflash your ROM or restore your nandroid backup (you must always keep a nandroid handy).

FWIW I emailed them earlier today, so they did reply to the email fairly quickly.
Great answer.. Should never had bought the pro license. That's a really lame excuse because I used it on other phones and never had any of those problems with system apps.

this happens to me intermittently whether its a system app or not. using 5.5.1.1, and i did change ROMs
is it a bad back up or system app?
So I recently did a data wipe in order to upgrade to aokp b29. Before the whole process, my market worked fine, but now my installed apps are not appearing nor can I see that other tab (all apps? Or something... History?) because it gives an error as shown in the attached screenshot. My Installed tab just shows the apps I manually installed after restoring everything with titanium backup. I have about 310 apps on my phone and only the last 4 I installed yesterday show up. I have a suspicion that it was titanium backup that caused my play store account to bug out because I remember the market was fine after I booted up b29 for the first time but haven't used titanium backup yet, then after restoring all my apps + data, my play store became messed up. I tried using the market link doctor function on titanium backup to redo all the attached links to the market but that didn't help. Also tried clearing market data and cache, and restoring phone but obviously that didn't work either. Any suggestions? I was hoping that waiting for it to be fixed on its own would work but it's been like this for 4 days now, I would like to avoid another data wipe if it can be helped :x thanks.

By all means yes back them up but the only thing I'd recommend restoring is your SMS, music or pictures. Stuff that's not going to be potentially corrupt is safe. A good idea us to use a tool kit like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310 and use the option to BOOT not flash cwm recovery and create a nandroid backup so if you aren't happy with the results at least you can return to your current state. A fresh install is best IMO just to make sure you don't install things which are broken

wtf ... i formatted data, cache, dalvik cache, flashed aokp b29 and gapps.. and bam.. the problem is still here.. exactly as it was before .. this is frustrating :/ .......
anyone know what on earth the problem could be ??? btw all my purchased apps are shown as never have been bought either, and when i try to rebuy something, i get an error with transaction email from Google.... the only way to install paid apps on my phone now is through the browser which still works fine ..but ..still... wth :/
There are TONS of people having this and similar problems - a quick search of the forums and the net in general will bear this out.
You can do whatever you like if it makes you feel good, but Google's going to have to fix this one themselves.
....................yea i know their store crashed but that was a week ago and they said its been fixed ...................
can anyone actually help plz, condescending remarks aside

wow im so relieved all functionality returned to my market a few hours after wiping. dunno if it was something i did or googles servers but im just glad its over and i can get back to crack updating my apps...
The title says it all pretty much. I've scoured Google for help with this issue and everything I've tried doesn't work. Both "Remotely Locate" and "Allow remote lock and erase" are checked. I've tried clearing the data for both Google Play Store and Google Play Services and restarting several times but no dice.
This issue came about when I misplaced my tablet the other day and logged into ADM to locate it only to find that it doesn't show up in the list.
I should probably mention I'm running stock ROM 4.4.2. It also doesn't appear in the devices under the settings in the Google Play Store. Funny, my 2 year old HTC One X running CM11 shows up just fine on ADM. Any help is certainly appreciated! Thanks.

Ok then what I would do in your position is
1. remove my Google account on the device
2. wipe cache and dalvik
3. reboot
4. renter my Google account
I suspect that it is something similar to what happens to Google play (continual error ###- can't remember the number at the moment) and doing this almost always fixes Google play.
If all this fails I would flash the factory Image from Google and let Google restore my apps.
I hope this helps and you don't have to resort to anything this drastic.

Is there a way to wipe dalvik cache on the stock ROM? I tried removing the Google account and wiping regular cache but it's still not working. If nothing else, next step is to factory reset. Still, I don't see how it'll be any different than when I started it up for the first time and entered my account.
I keep getting these messages. Anyone have any idea to fix this?

I got the same message today but I know exactly why I did. Something changed or modified your google play services app. I am running ZoneROM - 09.17.14 - D85110M - DeODEX with G3 Tweakbox (the latest that was pushed out today) and decided to try one of the themes that the developer warned us may or may not work lol. Needless to say after a reset I got that message. After I uninstalled the theme and set is ALL back to stock and gave it another reset the message came back.
The only fix (that worked for me) was to dirty flash the rom and wipe dalvik cache and chache afterwards. Hope this helps!:good:

Yeah all this started after I installed the latest g3 tweaksbox and messed with the themes. I restored to a nandroid backup but the issue continues. Wtf this is crazy
This doesn't make any sense. I flash back to a much earlier backup and the popups come right back once i try to update apps in the Play Store
I am getting them to. Didn't switch anything up that I can think of..
I started getting this message when i switched to the google keyboard. Switched back to lg keyboard and it went away.
Ok is definitely the Google play services update is to blame. I did a factory reset. Everything was fine until I updated the Google play services plug in again. Instantly the popups returned
I had these issues until I disabled "Disable Location Consent" in xposed. It does not play nice with the new play services yet.

Following, I'm getting a TON of apps FCing like this, all seemingly based around Google Play Services. Did you ever find a solution for this? I can only seem to go into Magisk, disable all of my modules, reboot, do what I need to do, re-enable all modules, then I'm good to go. While that works, it's annoying and takes a long time.

The Pixel Watch app is tied to Google Play Services and Google Services Framework. You need to troubleshoot by clearing the cache, data of Play Services and reboot.
