So I recently did a data wipe in order to upgrade to aokp b29. Before the whole process, my market worked fine, but now my installed apps are not appearing nor can I see that other tab (all apps? Or something... History?) because it gives an error as shown in the attached screenshot. My Installed tab just shows the apps I manually installed after restoring everything with titanium backup. I have about 310 apps on my phone and only the last 4 I installed yesterday show up. I have a suspicion that it was titanium backup that caused my play store account to bug out because I remember the market was fine after I booted up b29 for the first time but haven't used titanium backup yet, then after restoring all my apps + data, my play store became messed up. I tried using the market link doctor function on titanium backup to redo all the attached links to the market but that didn't help. Also tried clearing market data and cache, and restoring phone but obviously that didn't work either. Any suggestions? I was hoping that waiting for it to be fixed on its own would work but it's been like this for 4 days now, I would like to avoid another data wipe if it can be helped :x thanks.

I had a similar problem, you should wipe your device and start fresh. Don't restore any system data or apps.

By all means yes back them up but the only thing I'd recommend restoring is your SMS, music or pictures. Stuff that's not going to be potentially corrupt is safe. A good idea us to use a tool kit like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310 and use the option to BOOT not flash cwm recovery and create a nandroid backup so if you aren't happy with the results at least you can return to your current state. A fresh install is best IMO just to make sure you don't install things which are broken

wtf ... i formatted data, cache, dalvik cache, flashed aokp b29 and gapps.. and bam.. the problem is still here.. exactly as it was before .. this is frustrating :/ .......
anyone know what on earth the problem could be ??? btw all my purchased apps are shown as never have been bought either, and when i try to rebuy something, i get an error with transaction email from Google.... the only way to install paid apps on my phone now is through the browser which still works fine ..but ..still... wth :/
There are TONS of people having this and similar problems - a quick search of the forums and the net in general will bear this out.
You can do whatever you like if it makes you feel good, but Google's going to have to fix this one themselves.
....................yea i know their store crashed but that was a week ago and they said its been fixed ...................
can anyone actually help plz, condescending remarks aside

It looks like you have a custom theme and/or rom. You may want to give a little more information about your setup. Did this occur after an upgrade? When was the last time it worked and what changed since then?
I SWITCHED ROMS AND it still had the same issue I was doing some self theming but it wasnt working on the paticular rom but in between nandroids i went into the marrket and it wasnt doing that yes i do have a custom rom Ive had eris hero evo eipic and now touch and always root but this never happened and never seen it and it blows cuz i cant see if I need updates
This happens to me all the time. try FCing then clear cache then data. Afterwards use a cache cleaner to clear all cache.out your phone. nd reboot. Sometimes it works other times it don't that's why I hate switching roms now cause my market links be vanishing after initial installation.

there have been a few threads on this. i too am having this problem. i have done the following:
force close, clear cache, clear data, uninstall market updates, reinstall market updates, use Titanium Backup to destroy market links, use Titanium Backup to restore market links, clear cache, clear dalvik, factory reset rom, install apps fresh from market, restore apps from Titanium Backup + Market Links, revert to older rom that i knew it was working on, flash different custom rom, flash stock rom, emailed android market support.
none of this has worked for me. there are 2 groups on google discussing this as a common problem. the email i got from market support said this:

At the beginning I used Odin3 v. 1.85 to flash the T-Mobile ICS 4.0.3 stock ROM, since I had the hang issue I decided to try another method.
Here are what I did to fix the Shutdown/Restart hangs:
0-A backup on the external SD card (Backup all user apps+system data) in Titanium Pro
1-Fully charged the phone
2-Installed the stock ROM T989UVKL1 (Android 2.3.6) through Odin3 v. 1.85
3-Wiped cache & wiped data/factory reset twice in recovery mode
4-Upgraded to stock ROM ICS 4.0.3 via Kies windows version, it took about 30 mins to completed
5-Rooted the SGH-T989
6-A restore missing apps with data via Titanium Pro
I also froze the following apps via Titanium Pro:
411 & More
Asphalt
Blio eBooks
Bonus Apps
Buddies now

vibrates like a 7.3 earthquake, shutdown & restart works without any issue, fast 4G Internet, good radio signal, gps locks quickly, good compass, good battery life, no echo, camera back & front work fine, bluetooth OK, WiFi OK.
100% working.
This stock ROM is very good and has a lot of features.[

Read Before You Flame!!!!!!!!
This is labeled as a "HOW TO" post and the last time I checked that was allowed in the "Development" section.
Fixing permissions is not always working with the hang on stock 4.0.3..READ!!
I really wish everyone @ XDA would be more appreciative to the time taken to try and help as a majority of us do NOTHING to contribute!!
To the OP: I'm glad I could give you your first "Thanks" even if your post was meaningless to me. You took your time and gave easy instructions...Thanks for contributing to the community
There is nothing new here. This is an elaborate way of posting wipe, flash, repeat. If one were to use the darkside wipe (already a sticky) before flashing there wouldn't be any problems. This is completely unnecessary and waste of time.
Here are the instructions:
1. Darkside wipe
2. (Optional) Flash ICS radio
3. Flash ROM
4. (Optional) Use Darkside cache wipe to wipe cache/dalvic if necessary (do not use recovery)
Spending 5 mins here would result in these findings

Thanks for those files tdj. I've been having problems with Titanium Backup working. I tried everything. Odin'ed ICS and rerooted 3 times. This morning I wiped everything with your files and Odin'ed ICS again. Everything works perfect now after a clean install.
I tried using the Darkside cache wipe - not only did it stop the hanging goodbye problem, it also made my phone run a little faster!
Just a little something to think about if you don't want to mess around with new ROMs or even reinstall the stock one.

Did you have to do anything special to get it to work?
I was able to restore fine, but when I go to backup everything and then try to copy that fold to my computer it does not work. I can copy anything and everything else off of to tab to my computer but not the Titanium Backup folder..
Make sure TiBu is closed when you don't that.
Also, copy rather than move...

I also had problems with Titanium Backup but it turned out to be problems with permissions even though I gave it full permission. When I loaded up the SuperSU, it said it needed a binary update, and after I did that the problem disappeared. See if you also need an update (it required a reboot).
mine works with no issues on stock 4.3 rooted
The only thing that seems to not stick for me is breaking an apps market link
Well I just backed up just the data in twrp then just restored after I flashed the new ROM. Seems to work great. Better than messing around with tb

The easiest way to do this is by closing TB and then go in your file explorer (i use ES file explorer) and rename TB folder. I usually add an S in the end and when i copy them back, i remove the S. The reason is that TB backup files are being used by app in tablet rather than USB storage. Thus they can not be read.
Also you can freeze TB from Settings.
Then connect your tab via usb and copy it.
I hope that is easier !
Hello,
On Saturday I flashed Clean ROM ACE 5.0 onto mine and my wife's Samsung Galaxy Note 2's.
The one problem we're both having is that the contacts app stops working. (It worked fine for the first day for me and my wife's was good until today)
No amount of wiping and re-flashing is working.
Going to settings->application->all-> and then clearing the data in contacts and contacts storage doesn't work.
Even on a completely fresh flash of the rom, without installing any other apps or setting up our google accounts, we'll still get the message "unfortunately, contacts has stopped".
I've tried installing new samsung contacts apps into the system/app folder with rw-r--r-- to no avail.
I've even changed custom recoveries...
Strangely enough, 3rd party contact apps work, but I'd like to just keep the 'stock' samsung one if I could.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Changing recoveries WAS not needed too get a APP to work for you!!!
You ever think that it might be a bad download you had since you flashed the same room on both phones! And got the same results from both!
Anyway you can also access your contacts from the phone APP! Just in case you didn't know.. What I have set up on my Pie app to access the dialer/contacts... pic here:

Yes, opening up the dialer/phone app and tapping the contacts tab get the same result "unfortunately, contacts has stopped working".
Even, starting a text message and trying to choose a contact doesn't work.

I got the same message today but I know exactly why I did. Something changed or modified your google play services app. I am running ZoneROM - 09.17.14 - D85110M - DeODEX with G3 Tweakbox (the latest that was pushed out today) and decided to try one of the themes that the developer warned us may or may not work lol. Needless to say after a reset I got that message. After I uninstalled the theme and set is ALL back to stock and gave it another reset the message came back.
The only fix (that worked for me) was to dirty flash the rom and wipe dalvik cache and chache afterwards. Hope this helps!:good:

Yeah all this started after I installed the latest g3 tweaksbox and messed with the themes. I restored to a nandroid backup but the issue continues. Wtf this is crazy
This doesn't make any sense. I flash back to a much earlier backup and the popups come right back once i try to update apps in the Play Store
I am getting them to. Didn't switch anything up that I can think of..
I started getting this message when i switched to the google keyboard. Switched back to lg keyboard and it went away.
Ok is definitely the Google play services update is to blame. I did a factory reset. Everything was fine until I updated the Google play services plug in again. Instantly the popups returned
I had these issues until I disabled "Disable Location Consent" in xposed. It does not play nice with the new play services yet.
