Greetings,
I have arc since May and I'm really satisfied from it.
But here's the thing. It randomly pauses most of my applications after a minute or so.
The first time it happened, i though i misstouched the screen, but I wasnt. When I'm playing games it pauses the game (No graphical lag or any issues, just pause) and i have to touch the screen to continue back. Same applies to youtube and any application that has pause.
Any idea what happened? My arc is stock non-rooted (Since 2.3.4 update) so i didn't mess up with any system files.
Looking at the number of views and no replies seems that no one has this problem , including me.
Have you tried to reflash the firmware or may be tried different region firmware or may be downgrade to lower version? Just to test the issue reappearing?
True. No, I haven't done flash or anything you mentioned before. Looks likely im going to use SEUS and wipe everything. Though I don't have time right now and I'll do it later in the evening or at weekend

I'm suffering from the same problem.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II with stock rom
It started out a couple of days ago. It happens on every application I run, pausing it after a a short time it's running and it happens again every minute or so.
I tried uninstalling new apps but it didn't work.

Do you have any other touch screen issues?
Like touch at one point and it don't react or something?

Rooting is great.
Especially because you can delete bloatware, install CWM, flash MODs/Themes/etc., install V6 Supercharger and so on.

I've deleted all bloatware, V6 supercharger is installed already on balanced 3 settings, using go launcher ex and running like hell ;D
I'm using Arc S Arconium 7.1 with Doom Kernel
My phone lags with no reason. When I rebooted it, it gets better but sometimes it's not. And every time i reboot my phone, I have to re-run my GO LAUNCHER and re-add some widgets which is looked weird in my sense
I don't know why? Anyone have experience in this problem before?
No, that's strange.
I'd say reflash it.

This is not a ROM-specific issue - it has been an irritating thing for me over the past year. It has happened on CM7/9/10, MIUI, any custom rom actually. Rather irritating when you wanna switch from gaming to texting etc (which is what I often do).
Just wondering if anyone found a fix. Thanks!

I have this issue as well. Whenever I open or close my play, it reboots. If I apply pressure as I slide out the gamepad, it works normally. Most likely a loose hinge or something.

Its not a software issue its a hardware issue for sure because my xperia play reboots when I close the slide on any rom. I'm not very tech savvy nor am I afraid of opening my xperia play I just don't know how the slide on the xperia play ticks. It can be number of things it can be slide, flex, the screen I have no clue. If someoone has a hardware fix on this please share.
Had this problem on stock rom but after flashing cola it's yet to happen.
Maybe I got lucky, IDK, it might be worth a try if it's bothering you too much.
There is a contact problem with your battery and the phone

This is not from your Rom. It is from your battery. Remove the battery use a paper to make it more firm as you put the battery inside the phone. I had the same problem but now I can slide my xperia PLAY open as hard and fast as u want without it rebooting.
HIT THANKS IF THIS HELPED

That doesn't work for me. I had to open my xperia play and replace the flex cable and now no reboots. The flex cable on my xperia play has alot of wear and tear in it.
I gave my R800at to my brother and today it begin to reboot when sliding in or out, it was a little lose, but not much.
I opened it, the flex cable seemed to be secure so I don't know specifically what caused it to reboot. But I tried to secure all the connections and tighten all the screws in the phone and it fixed the problem. No doubt I feel the problem will reoccur again in the future. I does seem sliding out the gamepad slowly and with some pressure down help.
To open the phone you need to use a Torque screw driver with the size "T5", you can get it at Lowe or Home Depot.
hi, i'm new to this forum and i'm italian, so excuse me my english, i'm not so good.
after updating my hox to jellybean with the official RUU (cid HTC_001) i noticed a very very high battery drain, caused by "mediaserver", "android operative system" and "htc sense input", i tried to do a factory reset but i didn't see changes. with ics i could keep the phone in stand by for a day and arrive to the evening with the 60% of battery, now it takes 5% battery every 5 minutes. what can i do? can i reinstall the software? the phone is s-on without root
thanks to all for your time.
Hi emilio, your issue is quite common after jb update. I didn't experience it myself but I read that is often due to some corrupted media files in your phone storage. You should try delete them and add them again. I can't help more but in these cases the search button of this forum is your best friend you'll find all the answers you need!

thanks . is there a way to find out these corrupted media files?
I have this same issue, but it happens when i upgrade hBoot from 1.31 to 1.36
That was 3 days ago. Now is much better (no drain) but it's still much worse than on 1.31...
Battery is about 40% worse for me after upgrade hBoot... dunno why
Same here in regard to dreadful battery life, gonna try a factory reset and go from there I guess?

i've already done a factory reset but the problem continue... is there anyone with a solution?
I tried a few roms but problem is. On AOKP battery is the same as on lower hBoot, but on all sense based rom it sucks...
but is the problem of hboot or of jellybean? and if it's a problem of hboot, is there any way to downgrade??
i noticed also that the space free for application is only 1gb on 6gb, when i don't have an app installed bigger than 20mb, and i've only a few apps installed... could be this the cause of the drain?

This may have fixed the problem for me. Did a factory reset, and now I'm at 70 percent battery after 10 hours. Screen's been on a little, but mostly I've been listening to headphones all day. Mobile data's been on for about four hours but wi-fi and bluetooth have been off. Yesterday I had wi-fi on and got at least seven hours of heavy use. Prior to the reset, I was barely getting three hours of minimal use on a full charge. Whatever was causing the drain was apparently deleted via the reset.
Flashing any AOSP ROMs will help you..
I had a similar situation after upgrading. In my case the situation improved after I deactivated NFC (Wireless & Networks)

I'm still getting screen flickering on hackitz .244 ROM, I thought this issue was addressed with Sony. Now I randomly get random flickers, sometimes it's okay but other times I notice it a lot and it bugs me. Anyways, any help would be much appreciated thanks in return! Also I've installed some mods that might be a possibility so far I've used 5 button nav bar, Google boot animation, purexaudio mod along with srs chsp and DTS sound enhancement. Anyways any help would be appreciated, I'm about to full wipe my phone along with backup.
Edit: I fixed it with a full and proper restore, turns out I deleted a necessary service in titanium backup xD anyways mods close this please.

I've noticed disabling MyXperia happens to cause the screen flickering constantly so I re-enabled it. Soon after I've realized when I followed a tutorial on how to save battery life (for the Xperia Z) I ended up deleting a ton of services such as a bunch of coms.android.blah and VerifyCertificateDummy with a bunch of others and it was constant. I restored and deleted the ones I was comfortable removing/freezing and restarted multiple times to see if the issue persisted. Anyways the flickering is gone now from a completely clean install of Hackitz
Problem Still there
I am on stock .244 build with Bootloader locked and I am experiencing the screen flickering problem as well
Though myxperia service is activated on my phone I am still having problems PLEASE HELP!!
I´m from Brazil and I´m having the same problem (screen flickering). My friend has the same mobile and guess what??? The same problem as well.
I asked to Sony my money back, they will answer me next week.
P.S: I sent it to repair twice, but they just updated the software and sent it me back. Unbelievable!!!
It happened to me suddenly after a week of getting new device from sony.i was tensed n reseted my phone n reinstalled software using SUS..now the flickering is gone...i dont knw wether software cause it or hardware cause it...bt its seems fine now
