I am running one of the new cm7 nightlys with godmod kernel. I cannot get the init.d scripts to run on boot. I've tried 3.3.7 and still no go. Anything I'm missing?
Do you have init.d folder in system/etc/??

I do, it also has a bunch of random scripts in there from the initial flash of the rom.
I just cannot figure out why my phone will not execute any of the scripts in the folder.

How do you know it's not running the scripts? What are you doing to verify if it is or not?

Hit that thanks button if I managed to help
Installed a ram script, and some other things. Reboot. Check minfree values and they are still stock.
Actually your ultimate ram script.

I've been trying to get init.d support to work on Deck's AOSP 2.3.7 (v1.3). It has the folder, but nothing seems to stick. Does anyone have a suggestion for this?

maybe try a dffierent aosp rom, all of them are in the link in my sig. or uninstall it and reinstall it. if you have any questions just post them in the link in my sig
nd just wondering you searched in system/etc?
I may just do cyanogen as I change a bunch of things anyway. I have an init.d folder by default, and have reinstalled the ROM and various kernels.
I've tried editing init.rc, and have read there is a bootcomplete.supersonic.rc file in evos that overrides changes, but can't find it in deck's.

What exactly are you trying to do with init.d?

I have read your guide and appreciate it. There are a number of system tweak scripts floating around xda that would be fun to test out. With system tuner pro and v6 I can have them run after boot is complete, but having init.d on my tab is just so streamlined.
Can I use run as root/at boot w/ any script?

I've done that, and the file changes, but init.d is still not active. Build.prop changes work though.
Use script manager for scripts

So after using Odin back to Eclair, updating to EC05, rooting, updating to EI22, flashing Thunderhawk III, I reinstalled script manager and tried to run V6 Supercharger. Looking through the script I see what looks to be like some errors, and quadrant scores are low. I don't believe the script is running correctly. I re downloaded the script, tried again, and still no go. Any ideas what may be going on? See thumbnails. Thanks everyone

I had the same problem.. This is what fixed it for me:
Get BusyBox Installer from the market (by JRUMMY16), install 1.18.2 to the /system/bin and the /system/xbin folders. Now try it again.
Yup... Busybox Error. If the market dl fix don't work, its the rom.

Root explorer to copy/paste to both folders after dl?
Nevermind, I see the installer allows you to choose where to install
*update: everything seems to work now, no need to setup script again- shortcut works, benchmark scores up
Thanks guys, much appreciated
I recently changed to rogue hitman kernel running current version of calk 2.8.1 i think. Since I did this did I loose
"Preset profiles:
1.2GHz - 100-85%
1.0GHz - 84-36%
800MHz - 35-0% "
If so how would I go about re-enabling the battery saver script?
Even if the battery saver script is not disabled could I get help figuring out how to enable it if I were to go to another rom?
Yes I do own set CPU but I like not having to worry about 1 more program. And it would be great to learn how to apply to all my rom endeavors.
Your help always appreciated thank you!

The undervolt scripts will not work on a stock Kernal so you need to use a Rogue or other non stock Kernal that supports voltage/clock adjustments.
If however you have SetCPU installed then the scripts are designed to not run to keep you from accidentally undervolting too much.
I am on the rouge hitman kernel, undervolting isn't an issue just trying to figure out how to get the battery saver script on this current setup.. I didn't see under his signature a download for his battery saver script

The script is installed in /system/ect/init.d and in my case is called
3cpufreq_screenstate_scaling
It runs automatically if there is a Kernal installed that supports init.d
"If SetCPU, Overclock Widget, Android Overclock or QuickClock Advanced Overclock are detected, the script is ignored, so it will not affect them"

I saw that from his OP,: So if i look in that directory and its not there and i put it in there from one of his .zip's that will make it work simply?
If it is not there then you are probably not on Calkulin's Rom that they were designed for so I can't say. The Rom you are on may not support init.d scripts.

since you are writing to the /system folder, you may need to set certain permissions for it. i know that when i ran script manager for V6, it placed the script in the init.d folder, but i had to be "browsing" as root. i just assumed it set the permissions automatically. but i may be wrong, and if it doesnt need permissions, then yes. as long as you have a rom/kernel that supports init.d scripts, you can use it.
Trying to install V6 superchager for the first time and doesnt seem like it is working.
Darkforest ICS and Kernel
installed busybox
script manager
downloaded script as pdf
renamed to .sh
run script as root
and I get nothing. No errors or anything, ive waited for 10 minutes and it was the same. Anybody have any tips? Thanks
For ICS roms you have to do an additional step, modding the services.jar file.
Read the thread properly.

Thanks for the reply! But forgot to add I already completed that second step as well. But I run the script manager and nothing happens. Just an Exit Code 0. Ive searched high and low and cant really figure this one out :/
Is it possible to get init.d working on a SGH-T889 that is rooted, and running the latest stock rom and kernel?
I managed to make the folder, and chmod it to 777 via a terminal, and my tweaking apps create scripts in said folder that are pre-modded to 777, but they fail to launch at boot.
I would like to stay as close to stock as possible, but I love being rooted.
What can I do to find a happy medium?

You have to enable this in the ramdisk

I believe apps like script manager can do this, but you can also get init.d support using busybox and an edited script in /system/etc/. Otherwise - what ptmr3 said
Busybox run-parts with installrecovery.sh, it works on many, many devices with stock kernels. Just make sure you don't inadvertently delete the script from recovery.

I'm extremely computer literate, but only fairly adept at matters pertaining to android/rooted actions.
I have above basic Linux knowledge as well, so if you point me in the right direction, I should be able to take it from there.
