Interview Series for Windows Phone - Windows Phone 7 General

Hey XDA,
I've started a few interviews with developers and designers within the Windows Phone community. I'd like to share them with you because they might be able to give you some insight into the minds of devs and designers. I have a few ongoing interviews and am in the process of editing some of them right now, but below is my first one and I'll update this thread as I add some more.
Interviews:
Jeff Cole - Developer of Words by Post and Chess by Post. This is the one man team behind the popular multi-platform games Words and Chess by Post. The games allow for users to play against friends and foes no matter if they have an iPhone, Android or Windows Phone handset. I found it interesting that he the development tools for iOS and WP more than he did Android. You can read the full interview here.
Please leave some feedback on how I can improve and what questions you'd like to see me ask them in regards to either development or design. Thank you.

(request) Mixed post/read privilege posts/forums

After the amount of cleaning required of the recent WP7 ROM dump post, it came to me to recommend that invent or implement a way for a group of developers to hold their conversation in public view (to further learning and openness) while not simultaneously giving everyone the right to post to that topic.
This seems preferable to having completely private developer groups form where discussions no longer provide learning opportunities for less experienced users.
Invite-only reply, but all can read.

I'm not sure if this is possible with vBulletin, but there are a number of chefs / developers in the Chef Central forum who have moderator rights in that forum, which should allow them to post in closed threads, if required.
It's often a problem with anything new like this, everyone gets excited and wants to talk about it, XDA has 5000+ members online most of the time. I don't think preventing people from posting is the best way forward though, who's to say one members opinion is less than any others. In my experience, soon things will be old news and those in the know will have all the facts and share them in a many more accessible ways.

Looking for DEV Help with my Tilt 2 w/broken mic

Again, I will post where it is appropriate to my needs. I would hope the moderators will be gracious enough to allow it. There was more that could have been done than a simple thread closing....
Here is the original POST that has been convoluted and CLOSED. I will break it into paragraphs and augment for clarity. The original was typed on a train on my Dell Streak.... so it was lacking in clarity and depth, not to mention it was all bunched up. It has several elements to it and proper guidance would be greatly appreciated.
My first Tilt 2 got some water damage and no longer has microphone ability.
I have interesting aspirations for this device that do not necessarily depend on a ROM being developed but that part is included. I have been having trouble as of late actually accessing the ROM development and Device Specific locations of these forums... So help and guidance versus being shut down would be nice.
I chose this forum location because I know through reading that many skilled developers traverse this section daily. My situation is not as simple as the Moderator believes.
Here is the Text of my first post.
Can anyone cook me up a rom with no phone stuff? A tilt tablet so to speak. It does everything else perfectly even bluetooth works and will handle calls.
I have another device in use with my Sim.
PART THAT SPECIFICALLY APPLIES TO HERE
I would like to outfit it with TTS and other AUGMENTIVE COMMUNICATIONS for my Autistic boy. A mini computer so to speak. It is already running roms as I am no stranger here.
Maybe Ondrastar can give this a whirl. My Dell Axim is mint but aging in the view of froyo on my Streak and is not suited for the task of mini pc.
PART OF WHY IT ALSO BELONGS HERE - I'm asking for HELP and GUIDANCE from DEVELOPERS (* See below - people who know better than I do of what I might need for the project as a whole) or Someone to contact me that can be responsible for developing WINMO apps that can facilitate specific needs for augmentative communications.
To the Mod & My counterpart in the previous posting....
ROM COOKERS alone are not specifically Developers, However a Developer might also do some ROM Cooking... So this posting does not specifically belong in ROM Development Forums. I'm not looking for script kiddies or simple cookers. I need a skilled coder or several individuals to chime in ..Terminating the processes and all the calls to the phone software and drivers within a mobile device is not something a ROM cooker per se might know.
For example here, makuu has packaged bits of WM 6.5 with all the phone elements removed for the AXIM X51v. These packages in his ROM were Developed by himself and others. They are engineered resources from Microsoft's oem developer release of the ROMS. A developer like makuu would have a better understanding of the need based upon my initial IDEA, which involves DEVELOPING a series of Applications to run on the Tilt 2. In the end a Developer like makuu would have great insight on ROM development to incorporate the applications I need as well.
Conversely Chadster.. here at XDA is just a ROM cooker that slaps other peoples developments together. He would not be helpful for the project as a whole.
Continuing with my Thread...
A nice Rom with no phone apps and no drivers pointing to the radio.... No radio... What have you.* You guys would know better than me.
Any help would be appreciated. Funds are tight. But just ask anyone, I'm not shy with donations.
Thanks for reading.
Please ONLY reply if you are a skilled developer that understands my needs and might have some insight on already developing products designed to work under WM 5 through 6.5.x or if you have advice or guidance to offer to help steer me toward my design goals - I am looking for a ROM as well... but I'm looking for a DEVELOPER FIRST that understands what my design goals are..... Hence the POSTING.
Your previous thread was closed for a reason. This is not the correct place for it.
Please post in the Tilt General / Q&A forum.

Okay,
I know this is an old thread, actually a very old thread, but I didn't want to open another thread to ask, request, demand the same thing..
From the poll results I can tell that there was not a lot of demand for this dedicated BlackBerry forum..
I hope that only those who own a BlackBerry devices voted on this not just those Android and WP users who don't want another platform forum..
I am requesting a Dedicated Blackberry forum because BBOS and BB10 are very different platforms from one another.. BB10 will bring another opportunity to all our great developers here on XDA to explore and conquer.
I know there is CrackBerry but they don't have enough developer fanatics there..
Would really appreciate if the Admins and MODS gave it a thought..
thanks,

Please post such requests in the New Device Forum Requests thread. That way, the admins will be able to able to see your request and there's more chance that a forum will be added for it.
I will add though that, generally, new device forums are only added if there's going to be a lot of development for said device. So, unless that can be proven to be the case, I don't think there's too much chance of a forum being added for it.

Started a new blog

Hey fellow Androiders!
From today, I am starting a blog called "mod snips" in which I will be giving basic and advanced understanding of Android and its components. I will also be doing product reviews and new gadget thoughts! If you are a Android enthusiast just like me, you should visit the page right away at *mod snips again* For those of you who are still reading and didn't visit the blog, I will update the blog daily ATLEAST once a day and maybe more times. This is a request to tell your other friends who are also android freaks. I will also make videos in the near future. Please share this! Peace out.
Closed. This doesn't pertain to the HTC One V, nor (more importantly) is it polite to advertise a different site here. If you want, you can Suggest Content to the xda portal or look up how to apply for it a writing position.
