Okay, I've been browsing xda since having a tmobile g1, and while I appreciate everything the developers do to advance things, im kind of annoyed with kingxclick or whatever name he goes by. It just seems to me he appears in various forums and takes existing roms, modifies them very slightly, and claims them as his own. He did that on the g1 forum and here he is on the evo forum doing the same. Has he contributed anything original, or is he just the hack I think he is?

He's complaining about a developer he believes takes someone's rom [say mikfroyo for example] makes a few base changes, and then says its his rom.

That's what I figured. The sad thing is that he pops up on the evo forum and nobody knows what he's up to. If he is providing fixes and developing his own roms, that would be one thing, but if he's just taking various rom fixes and implementing them in "king's evo! 8.73!" or whatever other flashy named rom, he is a disgrace to true developers and he should just be banned again.

Well I'm not sure I mean according to some all I do is swap out some PNG files and then call it my own. I will say this when I used my own base everyone wanted me to use Calkulins.
Well, considering his site isn't even active anymore (404's on the whole site), I don't think we'll be seeing much of him.
I find this post a little amusing. I remember when he was making kernels. I followed very closely, was excited about the next new King Kernel! Almost donated to him!. GE was asking for donations because he didn't even OWN an EVO!. And still made good kernels!
...then one day he posts on his twitter that he finally got his!.... Vibrant?. I questioned this move on his kernel forum and stated this seemed like a 2 faced move. Asking for donations to buy an evolution to better develop his kernels, only.to buy something else.
I was chastised for questioning the great king on his thread! And he even commented saying "geez, lighten up, I'm still saving for an evo. They are sold out here is all". I stopped visiting that thread and stopped using his kernels. I felt that was a really low move and was amazed so many people followed him after that.

I guess I just figured that was him on the evo android development forum with "kings super ultra froyo!" and "kings gb amazing cool rom!" or whatever theyre called a page or two into the forum

99% of ROM makers do the exact same thing as him... They are just taking pieces others developed and putting them together. Most of the ROM makers/chefs couldn't code their way out of a box.

I think it has something to do with at least 10 other threads about the international galaxy s2 getting ICS.
I don't understand why everyone is so negative in this forum. It's almost uncomfortable spending time here sometimes.

I think it's reasonable to assume they probably intend to handle them in a similar fashion.

I'm getting sick and tired of people disrespecting our developers and themers we have in our community. If you don't like what they do or how they do it, then sell your device and keep it moving. This is not their job, it isn't their means of income, so they aren't obligated to keep you posted on updates or follow your request. If you donate to them understand that it's a donation and not payment for services. We should be grateful for them and the things that they do for our devices. Your 2 cents are not needed in their threads, so leave them be if you don't like what they do. If you do have some advice for them, make sure you don't come off being a **** about it. We need to more respectable towards these people who take time out of their lives to do what they enjoy to and they are kind enough to share it with us. To all the developers and themers, thank you so much for all your hard work, time, and effort that you put towards your work.

I've administrated/moderated forums in the past and any forum is only as good as the moderation it has. There will always be trolls posting garbage all over the place. That's the nature of the internet; but the level of moderation will determine whether the forum is a constructive place to be with a positive atmosphere our a steaming ****pile.
No one wants their opinions or ideas censored or stifled. That's not the point of moderation. But we need to get rid of the **** posts and the people who post them.
When you have a group of people posting for the sole purpose of pissing others off to a point that developers are leaving, someone needs to step in.

Well, I think the guy is KillaHurtz. There is many evidence, but saying it would make me sound like a stalker . If I do get banned like he says I will, keep in mind that Thomas Montano a.k.a killahurtz is the reason you will not see wp7, FrozenGB, and possibly AOSP ics. Sorry android community. I just finished rooting, putting cwm and blu kuban on my phone.
It took me a while to figure out what the heck I was supposed to do and in what order, but I did it!
I just want to thank all you guys here who do all the developing, managing the threads, making the youtube instructional videos and reviews. It really helped a lot! I didn't brick my phone and I look forward to trying out some new stuff after I master Blu Kuban!

Be careful. Your wife and or s/o (see what I did there?) will soon feel like they are not the top priority anymore and that's all you'll hear about. It's addicting.

The past few post reminded me of a conversation I had with the wife a few yrs back. Went something like this......
:wife: hey can I use the laptop I want to look on Ebay.
:me: ya hold on a minute.
:wife: watcha doin?
:me: looking on XDA at a new ROM.
:Wife: on what at a what?
:me: rom
:wife: what's that.
:me: just something for my phone...it changes it around.
:wife: well why would u want to do that? Whats the matter with it now?
:me: nothings the matter with it just something I want to try out.
:wife: well u better not break that phone. Those things aren't cheap ya know.
:me: here.......Take the freakin laptop.
Back when I bricked this phone on FB09 I got this......
''see......I told you you would break that phone''.
I swear the wives we have remember everything. Lol
Best is when you get pulled over and you tell the cop, "no I wasn't texting, I was in CWM flashing a new ROM!"

Got in an argument with the Wifey a while back, all I heard was "Why don't you just go get on ****ing xpa and do your job you don't even get paid for!"
She knows it's xda, she just says xpa to purposely get under my skin. Smh.....

I had to read my wife this thread. she is always yelling at me because when we sit down at the end of the night to watch tv i am usually just constantly messing with my phone. she is always complaining that i am not being with her and talking with her as a result. i dont know what to tell her but she felt better and thought it was funny that she is not the only one. not to mention i have an hp touchpad running cm9 nighlies so if its not my phone its that. i am sure there are a lot more of us out there.

Nope. Just my way of somehow contributing and giving back to the community. I don't dev or even theme, so I try to atleast keep the peace here and keep things tidy. That's all I can do.

Loving the Nexus still They have since split up the international and U.S. versions and I wasn't able to get the U.S. version :/ So I don't get to have much fun I still love getting rid of trolls wherever they are though

Got the SGSIII today and working a deal on a Nexus lol can't decide. I love the thought of having a phone that receives updates first but also really loving the look and feel of this SGSIII and, of course, still loving my E4GT.
Frankly they need to make it so that I can have multiple phones with the same phone number! Or Sprint needs to go the SIM card route so I can switch easily from one to another.

Baaaaallllliiiiinnnnnn!!!!!! Way to go girl. I'm going to go take a look at them when it hits my stores shelves. I love have the soft keys interchangeable though. I've always been a big fan of customization.
