Any way? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to check recently uninstalled files? I accidentally deleted some apps but may have deleted one I don't know about so I'm wondering. In opened the app drawer and put it in the uninstall "mode" and then accidentally clicked a few things whilst not knowing.

Hmmm, to be honest I dont think there is a way to see what you uninstalled, short of going through Titanium Backup to see what your "non-installed" backups are and comparing them to what you have installed.

unnistall mode? lol it has confirmations for each app uninstall so not sure how you "accidently removed apps" but yh i am pretty sure there isnt a way other than titanium backup or maybe a logcat or some sort of log?

Yeah but somehow everything confirmed as well lol. Thanks for the help guys

[Q]Can't get Tap Tap Revenge to download on market. Please help.

Wasn't sure which thread this should be in so I posted it here as my question. Please feel free to move it.
I just noticed that this game is now available for us. By when I retro download it in the market it won't download. It starts then quites(as do some other apps for some reason.) Is there another place or way I can download the game??

you said other apps, do all apps not download? I ask this because a few weeks back my market wouldnt download any apps and I had to wipe everything and reflash. Turns out it was an app causing the problem when I used titanium backup to restore apps. Just a thought if that is your problem. Oh and to answer your main question, if its not what I previously mentioned then I suppose you could check androidzoom or app brain, I think they do stuff with apps. Last resort, check 4shared.com

I say its about 90% of apps I try to download. Mainly it seems to be the ones I want, but if I pick any random app it'll download.

You can try clearing your market cache, force stop it, the try again; or the above listed methods.
Probably going to have to move all your apps over to your phone and delete the android_secure folder. Then reboot and give it a try. Sounds like that folder got corrupted. Pretty common occurrence.

I've never put apps on the SD card, so I should be all set to do thY. But by erasing that folder would it erase anything on the phone?

Nope won't erase anything. Once you delete that folder (while nothing is in there)you will be good after reboot. It won't erase anything and it will create a new one once you start downloading again. Give me a few minutes and ill send ya the link
Here ya go. This will explain it all. I've had to do it 3-4 times with all the flashing I've done. This is the "more permanent fix" http://forum.androidcentral.com/gen...not-downloading-installing-image-warning.html

Followed step by step and I get "error deleting files". I'm using the free version of Astro to delete it because ES File Explorer doesn't even show the folder.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Not sure why es wouldn't be showing it under SD card files. Have you checked into maybe getting astro pro, or root explorer? If not, sure you could use adb to erase it.

I've deleted the folder and restarted and they still don't download, repeated process, and still no luck. Guess I gotta reflash :/

Dang that sucks. Make sure you clear the data for the market and once one starts downloading, cancel it. Then try again right after you cancel it.
This probably won't help you any but just a heads up, you'll probably have a ton of download#.apk files in /sdcard/downloads
Never cleared market cache before, how do I go about doing that??

Only thing I can thing to do is maybe delete the market and pull another market .apk from somewhere and reinstall the market if nothing else has worked.

I'll have to try that later when o get home from work when I can look for a market.apk. Maybe the market has just been getting jealous of me using the Amazon app store lately

That game is way too addicting.
You could try using App Brain & Fast Web Installer to download apps. It actually works better/faster for me than downloading from the market. If you need the apks for those apps I can post them for you.

Market problem?

Ok so I have had this problem that keeps occuring. When I go into the Android Market and look under "my apps" there is a white screen and nothing shows up. I have posted about this issue before and someone recommended going under settings, then manage apps, the find market app, then hit "clear data".
I did that the first time a week ago and problem solved. Well the same issue came back last night. I am using MikG 2.5 with the stock kernal and no added themes. If you know what the solution is please let me know.
Thanks

I would clear the data again and also wipe your android.secure folder.
[This will delete your sdcard moved apps, with the traditional app moving, not sd-ext]
Especially if the clearing of data helped before, it seems like that is the best place to start.
So I wont lose anything significant if I delete the android.secure folder?
Do I just leterally go into my file explorer, find the folder and delete it?

Wipe it via recovery.
Any apps that are "moved to sd" will have to be restored.
I use RA so where can I find that folder in there?

Pre-installed ?

Is there any way to add some apps/games to pre-installed ?
If there is a way to do it please tell me how im a newbie and I might ask alot of questions.
Regards,
JC2
Well basically pre-installed means "installed apps, (if paid or under the copyright such as google apps) still protected by the law but legally and originally dependend to the ROM provided by manufacturer/producer/network operator/developer and free to use for everyone who owns the device" which is mainly the phone.
So I think there is no reasonable way to add pre-installed games/apps, but only download/buy them and just install...
I don't really see the point of this question but I'll be happy if my post helps you.
Cheers!
Put the apk in the system/app folder then install it.
That doesn't sound like what you're asking, but the closest I know you can do. Or you can use Titanium Backup to convert it to a system app.

In Titanium Backup long press the app and choose convert to system app. You need the paid for version though.

Widgit - titanium backup pro

Hi,
Which widgit backs up just the apps I've installed with their data? (such as game progress)
Backup all new versions seems to just backup the app & not with its data.
All user apps with data seems to backup things I don't want, such as dialer, fonts, and everything else.
I just want a widgit that does a backup of the apps I've installed with its saved data.
if you mean the extra data you download for the game i dont think that can be backed up by titanium unless you copy the folder from memory card and later put back there after restoring app from titanium
No, i mean the data as in 'saved games'
Which widgit does a backup of only the apps I've installed plus my game/app progress?

A combination of "back up all user apps + system data"; to clarify this bu's YOUR installed apps + their data not "system data" proper. Add to this a "filter by label". You'll have to set up labels in Ti BU if you haven't already, and add new apps to the appropriate label group. So theoretically you could have a combination of system and user apps backed up by filtering by label if you choose the correct b/u option.
I b/u manually, so I can't confirm your thought that the data isn't being backed up.
The one your mentioned seems to backup everything,
Bluetooth pairing , calender, calculator, accuweather etc
I wouldn't class these as 'user apps' as i didn't install them.
Pain. Lol

Setting up labels might work. I'll play around with it today and see how it works. Might make a not so manual guy outta me.

Just replicated what you noticed; it backed up data for apps that I didn't install from market, and that aren't classed as a user app, etc...
Applied a label that I already had made (user apps, the ones that I installed and chose to be labelled as such), it backed up only these apps. You could break it down by label further, Games, etc... It just requires you to not forget to assign an app to a label.
So, when installing a new app / game, I'd need to add this to the label?

[Q] After root which apps can we freeze?

After rooting the optimus g pro, which apps can we safely freeze or remove?
I froze all AT&T apps and LG device help, no issues should really appear if you just freeze. If you installed a recovery through FreeGee, you can disable the LG security and delete what ever you want.

What you should do is go to apps under lg settings and click on each specific app and click the disable button. that will disable them from working and should stop them from showing up on your phone. If they persist on showing up you should use nova launcher, or action launcher and use the launchers "hidden apps" feature to hide the applications you don't want to see in the app drawer.
I took mine a step further and searched the entire file system and deleted every single bloat app I could find.
To fully get rid of the att apps...go to the root of the file system and go to vendor>apps and have a hayday and delete all those apps. Then you can also delete anything from system/apps. There's a lot of Crap in there that can be deleted too.
