Flashed the new fb15 and noticea faster battery drain. Wanted to FLASH back to el29 but installation aborted in cwm. Any help is appreciated. Running blazer ROM 4.0 and the background of my can says rogue so I'm assuming rogue kernel

I like flashing my modems through odin
You have to download the modem.bin and put it in the phone section of Odin and flash

Try downloading again

That should be a sticky for all to see. I learned the hard way that downloading stuff to flash, its best to use a PC.

I'm on CM9 and I ODIN the EL26 Stock Kernal so I could perform a nandroid.
After completing the nandroid, do I need to reinstall CM9???
How do I get back to CM9 kernal as currently I don't get past the boot screen.
Thanks,

Odin a kernel for ics.... fb27 fc05 etc it will tell you in Dev which will work with cm
You can use triangle away to reset flash count after you can boot it ....

Seeing how I'd just got my replcaement because I'd hard bricked my previous one messing with ICS vs. Gb kernals... I got scared.
I just reinstalled CM9 without wiping anything and now I'm back on CM9...
Can you point specifically to which kernal you're referring to?

Try on a completely stock rom like one of sfhubs Odin in clicks. Or it could just be sprint for now.

Do i just mobile odin the el26/CWM Kernel and then flash shfubs el26 stock rom?

No go to his fe22 odin one click thread and use that to go to stock twiz. From there update prl/profile. Then you can go ahead and mobile Odin the el26 cwm kernel and ref lash to whatever rom.

I had that same problem on Frankenstein's last night. No matter what I tried they wouldn't update so I ended up going back to Calk's ROM. And I really liked Frankenstein's ROM and wish I could of stayed on it longer.

You can still flash a GB kernel even though you have a ICS ROM installed. It won't boot the phone completely(it'll freeze on the Samsung Galaxy SII screen on startup). But you can still get into recovery and download modes. That's the benefit right there. You don't need to flash all that though. Which ROM do you want to be on? The part about using Odin to go to FE22 and then go to EL26 has an extra step in it. You really don't need to flash the FE22 before going to EL26.

Ya some of them have CWM or a different custom recovery. What ROM is it that you want to install? What I mean is you don't need to flash to multiple other kernels/ROMs before eventually going to whichever ROM you want.
Go to the dev section and find sfhubs fe22 Odin one click and flash your phone with that. The reason you do this is so you will be on a stock rom where you can update prl and profile. After you do this, using Odin (with only auto reboot checked in top right corner), flash the el26 cwm kernel. Boot into recovery and from here you can flash back to Frankenstein or blazer whatever you want. You will need a computer.
So...
1. Fe22 Odin one click
2. Boot into fe22 stock rom and update prl/profile
3. Odin the el26 cwm kernel
4. Flash whatever new rom you want.

Doesn't need to be fe22, but needs to be stock touchwiz or close to so you can update prl/profile and that rom will let you do so. No problem, I'm ways here to help.

Did you try booting into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, reboot, then try to update again?
I just rooted my ET4G and I am wanting to install CM9 but i am sort of comfused. Am I still supposed to flash EL26 kernel via odin before I do!? Or do I just straight download and flash ROM + Gapps? With this kernel/recovery... I installed team rouge CWM that the guide shows any help thatnks!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Yes odin/mobile odin to el26+cwm. El29 has rogue repack recovery which can brick when flashing to or from ICS. EL26+cwm was the last kernel to have official cwm recovery.
Here's a link to stockcwm-el26.tar.md5: http://db.tt/0QJkleJR

Yes, but when you flash a new rom the kernel is replaced with whatever kernel is included in the rom. So you will have to reflash the el26cwm kernel every time before switching to a new rom. ICS roms won't boot with the kernel, so when switching from ICS to ICS or ICS to GB you will have to hold power+volume up as soon as phone starts to reboot to get into recovery.

I would also suggest having the rom/gapps/kernel you want to flash already downloaded and on your phone before going to el26cwm kernel once your on any ICS ROM.

sfhub one click that solve ur problems
Based on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525495
It seems that the main issue was some emmc issue causing bricks when flashing with ICS because we didn't have an official release or the source.
I've seen a few rom developers state that they think this problem has been solved in some later kernels. Now that we have an official ICS release, Is this a safe process now? Are there certain roms or kernels I should be using to get ICS recovery to work safely?
Basically I want to no longer have to flash el29 just to try things like Google Now ports and stuff. I want a fully mobile option to flash multiple roms at my leisure like other phones
Agats kernel/recovery is safe. Sleshepic's kernel/recovery is also safe. I flash ICS to ICS alot thru their recoveries no problem.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
I am glad someone else asked this because I was just about to do the same. I am on Agat and was about to go from stock rom to AOKP Milestone 6 but wasn't sure if I could flash back to TW based roms without having to go to EL29.
How do I flash their recoveries? I already rooted and have superuser. I just don't have a recovery and I'm confused on the articles I've read. Thanks in advance.

Every kernel is safe as long as you don't factory reset. use calks flash all zip instead of the wipe in recovery. Rujelus22 has a 2x wipe zip that does it twice. They wipe cache, dalvik, and system data in one shot.
What kernel should i be downloading? I have stock ICS rooted.

Flash Agats kernel. The .tar file in odin or mobile odin.

OK I have been flashing since the day of the samsung moment, and back in those days it was strictly adb, PC based Odin, and custom recoveries. The options were limited and it made you a pro at flashing because the routine was always the same. Fast forward to now with the e4gt not only have our options grown but included the emmc bug threat flashing for this bad boy can at time be convoluted. What I'm wondering is with mobile Odin I'm not confident on whether or not it is safe to say flash directly from the fk23 leak to the fl04 leak without first flashing a different kernel or some other prepatory step. Is mobile Odin exactly like the PC version where its cool to flash away?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
I do not think so. I read something about Mobile Odin not flashing modem's. Where as, Desktop Odin does it all. But none the less. Mobile Odin is still a great option. I use it daily to flash to a safe recovery/kernel, when I want to boot into recovery.
Mobile Odin does not trigger the counter or the yellow triangle.

Flash el29 or el26 kernel thru Mobil odin and then restore your backup or flash the rom u prefer. Make sure you flash the modem too at the time of flashing.
