OTA U.S Update to 2.3.6

hey guys just thought i would share but i got the 2.3.6 update right now OTA.... for those who still havent flashed it.. might as well wait unless your impatient...

Mine performs better actually.
Unfortunately, if you're bone stock unrooted like me this thing is loaded up the ass with CIQ.

The browser definitely performs better than it did before the update. I notice less checkerboardin'.

OTA ICS update Epic Touch 4g on Boost

Just received the ICS update prompt. Is it safe to do so being on Boost?

So you are a boost customer and got ics ota notification? That can't be bad.

Yes currently on EL29 Gingerbread. Phone is stock. Update does not tell me if its build FF18. It only says it Android 4.0.4 update.

Been wondering about the update also would love to get rid of gingerbread but don't want to get rid of the settings for boost....don't have the money right now to reflash lol

Im not familiar with the process to flash to boost but whats even better is you guys now have ICS rom leaks specific to boost now

Not a boost user but have seen posts from users where flashing / updating doesn't wipe settings.
If it would, then theoretically a nandroid would take you back.

Ha guess I'm pretty famous around here
Anyways from what I have found is that no rom I have flashed on this phone has messes up the radio settings where all the carrier settings are stored. You should be fine. But that being said flash at your own risk ha.

I knew this was going to leak tonight! LOL!

there might not be a lot of changes from the one that dropped 2 days ago.. size went up by just a little ..323.5 MB to 324.5 MB

well if it doesn't change too much from the latest one I think I could hold off for a little while longer

It might be patching up a couple of bugs, we're definitely getting close to an official, I'm downloading I don't care since now I know how to do this lol.

yeah dude I followed your steps and I rooted successfully. thanks a lot, bro. But yeah I definitely agree withcha, the last leak had some bugs.

Wtf, are you serious. Never seen so many leaks on any of my phones before. This is pretty dope. Lol, but waiting till tomorrow to try it out.
Official should Def be in Oct with all these leaks. The last leak is working great for me aside from some flickering here and there.

Yes, root is gone with the update. You will have to patch it again. Toolkit makes it easy to re-root it without any problems.

Just got the update, does this mean not to expect JB until 2013? The update states 10/17-11/30. Is the dates for the rollout of LJ4.

phone not updating????

Just a quick ? my girlfriend owns an evo 4g and she is still running 2.3.5 and i tried updating her phone and there is no updates found or it says its up to date??? Didnt sprint ever roll out and ICS update for this phone? I thought i read somewhere that it did? Anyways thanx in advance for and answers!!!!

yea i could make it happen but she doesnt want it to happen!! Ive rooted every phone i ever owned but she wont let me touch her phone but o well she doesnt know what she is missing out on and i try telling her all the time!! Her problem not mine
