hello everyone,
as you can see in title, my problem is that i cant use the new effects of the camera included in the rom..e.g. distortion, vignette, depth of field dont have any effect on the photo, but old effects like black/white, sepia and so on are working fine...
additional info: if zoomed, the taken picture is always corrupted, or rather the right half is corrupted, the rest is still looking normal..and that goes for every htccamera apk i tried, and for every rom i tried...so maybe its a hardware problem?
my question now: is that normal? or am i doing something wrong?
with regards,
jc
ps: is there any working AMAZE camera for htc desire?
The camera in the Rom uis not for Desire and is still in half baked form , so what u are experiencing is rather normal mate
All one can do is hope to get it fixed
Okay i see, thought something like that..
But what i don't get..why do the devs implement the new camera in a desire ROM, although there are no benefits of using it?

I've had 3.0.8.2 A2SD GB version installed for a few days now and have only found a couple of issues that really annoy me. For some reason there is a green "hue" when you reach the extent of a vertical scroll. Is there any way of shutting this off because it's so annoying. Vertical scroll isn't as smooth as previous versions, maybe something to do with the green "hue" maybe? I don't know.
Apart from that, memory usage seems to be managed better and battery life is awesome. Last night I was on the Market downloading and installing for maybe two hours. Battery was 100% when I started but only down to 97% by the time I finished. No battery saving app used either.
Thanks for this version, I like it.
One other thing I just remembered, when the screen lock is activated or deactivated the homescreen appears/disappears in a motion that's very similar to an old tube tv being tuned on/off. It's awful and it looks like the phone is faulty. Any way of changing this?
As both nuisances here mentioned are features of Gingerbread, I think you'd be best off returning to froyo rom.
great rom by Leedroid, but I have a very annoying issue with it...
I can't send/receive text massages smoothly. It crashes my massage process: I receive a text massage, I reply to it and press back or home, and after this my phone freezes and pops force close or wait box to choose from. Any solutions how to fix it? Or idea who may cause this?
p.s. I send/receive over 2k massages per month
More likely to get a reply in leedroids thread mate

hi,
- this is blowing motion, inherited from sense rom 2.1, you can cook UOT theme and disabling this.
-U can avoid this motion with spare parts (included into LD rom) just set windows aimation to fast and it s gone.
hope this help
Is there any other way to take a picture on myself without having to tap the screen? With the normal camera-mode? Its really hard to find the button when the screen is facing against you. There should be a button on the phones side for that as well I think?
And, have bought a brand new desire now, had wildfire before and rooted. Is it the same procedures for this? And can someone give me a good ROM-tips?
No hardware button for the Desire, sadly.
Well the easiest way to take self shots is either with the timer or having your finger on the screen before turning the device
The process is almost the same, but to make sure everything goes OK, we need some details (bootloader info, system/software info).
Good ROMs - Depends on what you need.
Leedroid/InsertCoin/RCMix - are good sense based ROMs
MIUI - Iphone like AOSP ROM, with great additional features.
CyanogenMod7/Oxygen/Gingervillain - AOSP ROMs - Nexus look, super fast.
Take your pick
thanks for the replies! To bad with the camera! That sucks.
Going to update myself with the rootingprocess and the switching ROM-process.
Had Cyanogenmod on the wildfire! Liked it!
Did not like sense in the wildfire though, is it a good thing to stay out of it in this phone aswell?
Think maybe I will try the Oxygen, seems neat! But no radio from what I have understand.
actually, on both redux and cyanogenmod 7 (which to my knowledge use the stock android cam) you can use the optical trackpoint to take pictures

Okay, that sounds good...have to test that! thanks
Well after 10+ ROM's i still can't record normaly 720p videos.
All roms have "720p options , snq kernel" but that 720p recordyng is laggy , out of sinc with audio --> not good.
So im wondering , can stock rom users record normally in HD ?
Or is there any rom with fully working HD recording , i mean witouth lagg , out of sinc and stuff.
It doesn't matter is rom Sense 1.0 - x.x , aosp , i mean just give me fully working 720p recording
Thanks _
No, at least on the Desire :/

I use Leedroid 3.3.3 with the camera fix mod on it, and it seems to work fine for me in 720p. No lag nor out of sync issues.

Do you also have the Sense 3.0 mod installed?
And are you able to record on a lesser resolution, EG WVGA, with no lag or out of sync issues?
At this current time no i dont have it installed. However i dont think it should make a difference if you have it installed or not, since the 3.0 sense mod doesnt relate back to the camera. At least i dont think it does. As for the lesser resolution ive tried other resolution and they all seem to work fine to without sync and lag issues

Sweet!!
Sounds perfect - I know what you mean about the sense 3.0 mod not being related but I've seen just as 'unrelated' things affect each other in ROMs before, so I wouldn't be surprised if it does have some effect!!
Anyway, thanks for your info mate , I'll give it a try....
Since i installed the mod everything seems to be working fine for me. No lag or anything while video recording anymore. I have no idea to be honest whether having the 3.0 sense mod has an effect on it or not, but i dont think it does. But No problem. Good luck with it, let me know of the results

Unfortunately it's just the same. Only difference is I have the sense 3.0 mod installed and I can't be bothered reflashing it all without that mod now.
Nevermind
Ah, Sorry mate:/. It worked for me. Hope you get the problem fixed soon. If i come across any new resolutions ill let you know.

It's just a quick flash. No need to wipe. 3 minutes and you're done surely?

Seems that if I don't move dalvik to ext, a/v sync is fine when the videocamera resolution is set to 640x480. Any higher than that and it starts to bugger up again.....
Im using MIUI 10.1.8 ROM and video recording is way too good with no laggy...
(first sorry for my english if i have any mistakes)
So i have na htc sensation with mike's rom (ARHD 3.6.1) and when i took some pictures and saw that everyone of them have gps cordinations. So that means when i open my camera the gps turns on to see were i'm and that costs a lot of energy isn't that right ? So if that is right and the develepors of new roms can make this to be disabled i think that the batery life will increase. If i'm horribly wrong, please delete this thread.
u are somewhat right! good idea. will think that!
You can actually deactivate that on your own depending on the rom you're using. AOSP roms with typically use the default camera app, and you can deactivate the location storage right through one of the on-screen options once you open the app.
I haven't used a Sense rom in a while so I don't remember the exact steps anymore, but I do remember being able to turn geo-location off there as well.
You had a good idea, but you can already do this yourself in most roms so there's no need for devs to remove the feature in my opinion. I actually like it just because you can tell where a person was when they took the picture, and call bull**** on them if they were lying lol
Yeah i found it in the camera options(silly me ).
Thanks for the advice.
Hi all,
I'm using CM7.2 lately and I love it! eoghan2t7 dropped out a new speed kernel which is more efficient than before. However I'm still having issues with the autofocus in the camera. I felt that the pictures I made aren't as clear as I used to. Than I realized the problem when I tried to read a QR code and the camera couldn't focus well on the target. This makes reading QR codes impossible.
Haven't seen anybody complaining about this in the forums. Am I the only one?
I've used cm 7.2 for some time now, and I've never encountered those kind of problems. Have you checked your camera app settings? There are few focus related settings there, maybe it's just not set properly?

Everyone complains about the camera functions under CM7. Don't believe me? Just Google it.
Hands down, the best drivers for our camera are the stock HTC apks.
Thanks for the reply!
Well I'm not the one who always taking picture with cellphone, but it's still annoying. The latest nightly seemed to alright but I also experienced worst battery life, while with sense, it lasted 1,5 times more. So I'm back to m1ndh4x8r Sense 2.1 GB 3.5.
Waiting for an official stable release for CM 7 and 9! Cheers
