[Q] Stuck on Doomkernel Logo - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi again.
Today I unlocked my bootloader using the official website.
This deleted my /data, which was kinda bad because i deleted stock home.apk and had golauncher installed.
so when i booted up i just got blackscreen + statusbar, nothing too bad i though.
i wanted to install doomkernel and arconium:
i flashed 36 (?) baseband and libs
i flashed doomkernel + modules
i installed arconium 7.1 with cwm (installed with the cwm app from the market when i had locked bootloader)
i only got the doomkernel logo, nothing happens.
i cleared dalvik cache and did a factory reset, still stuck on logo.
i can still access cwm but i dont know what to do now.
i read the guides, followed everything but i got stuck on this.
some help would be really nice,
thanks in advance!

Flash a complete stock firmware(.62) with flashtool, boot into that. Re-download/transfer the arconium zip, fastboot dooms kernel, factory reset/cache wipe, then arconium in cwm. Once you have that up & running then flash lib files for .36 etc.

U should not have flashed Arconium on the locked bootloader directly.. Dont just run through the steps anyhow.. Search the forum and get to know the steps properly.. Download some 0.42/0.58/0.62 firmware(.ftf) file and flash it using the Flashtool. After that u better flash the DooMKernel on the unlocked bootloader by using the boot.img.. Search the forum for that again.. U'll easily get a "How To" about that.. Once u r done with the kernel flashing, copy the Arconium zip file to ur SDCard and flash using the CWM.. Good luck...

nono, i unlocked the bootloader before i flashed anything
the chain was: unlock bl, flash 36 baseband, doomkernel, arconium
i read the threads 2 days before this like 3 times, but somehow i still missed something :/, well works now!

okk... Glad.. its working fine now.. And always remember to wipe cache/dalvik cache whenever u flash a kernel or other updates.. Cheers!

Help:Is this a bootloop?

I unlocked my bootloader via omnius, installed doomkernel and rebooted with no problem, then from recovery did a wipe cache/dalvik and then installed Arconium 8.1
Now i cant get passed the doomkernel startup image, it just freezes there and i have to remove the battery. I also cant access recovery.
Im on baseband 64, had Team Stock Rom installed, and used CWM Auto-Installer 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2. (these were installed while bootloader was locked)
Do you know how to use fast boot? If so I would suggest you use the kernel provided with arconium 8.1 .
Open a cmd window easiest way is to browse to the location where fastoot is located, paste the kernel usually called boot.img in the same folder hold the shift key on your keyboard and press right click and select open command window here. Shut down your phone and then while holding the menu key on your phone plug in the USB cable. Then in the command prompt type fastboot flash boot boot.img
It should show that the kernel was flashed and you can try and start your phone again.
Good luck
Just did that and still it freezes on doomkernel start up image... im desperate
I think the key to the problem is that I had a CWM recovery installed only for stock fw, and I installed arconium on it.
yeah "CWM Auto-Installer 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2" it is!! stock only..
I know that, but what I need is a solution. Im downloading a prerooted .62 fw, is there any other way to solve this without flashing?
Doom kernel should come pre loaded with cwm, but make sure the one ur using is arconium 8.1 because If your using the wrong kernel your phone will not boot.
Just clarify a boot loop is usually a loop of what ever logos repeating over and over so for example if I was having a boot loop in cm9 I would see the freexperia logo than the cm9 logo then freexperia logo again.

I had bootloop once while installing CM7..
and i did this...
Boot into recovery mode...WIPE DALVIK CACHE...REBOOT IN RECOVERY...
Delete data/partition....del Cache...REBOOT IN RECOVERY
And then install the zip from SD card....
Lemme know if this helps...
Good day
lol... I had the same exactly the same problem when instaliing arconium 8.1.
I just couldnt find out what to do....
so I just restored a backup using CWM

The solution I quoted works for 99% of the bootloop issues...
And Kajendran,
I had given the link to download kernel.sin file in the thread started by you...Did it work???

Xperia S wont load! HELP!

i decided to unlock my bootloader on my already rooted phone to try out some new JB roms. I installed Sspeed kernel and RecoverX which was fine then I followed the instruction to install the latest PACman rom by wiping all the caches and the system in recovery before flashing the rom. Problem is I accidentally left out the flashing and went straight to reboot phone. NOW THE PHONE WILL NOT GO PAST BOOTLOADER ANIMATION.
I tried using flashtool to flash stock rom. The phone is connected in fastboot mode but will not flash! PLEASE HELP!
Many thanks in advance!:fingers-crossed:

To flash stock rom you need to be in a flashmode, not fastboot.
Ive done that few times just install any kernel via fastboot, then you will be able to go to recovery its just that recovery is kept in system partition, so you wiped all the system and recovery flash any kernel that has recovery build in, and you will be good to go

Little help about custom roms

Here is my problem:
I was playing with my brother's Arc S and the things I done are that I downgraded to 462 from 587, rooted it, gone back to 587.
After that I flashed via X-Parts CWM 5. I downloaded Xperia Ultimate HD, I booted it in recovery but something was not OK. Couldn't go to recovery mode with Power + Vol down, so I gone back to X-Parts and pressed reboot in recovery mode. I flashed the rom and after that it bricked..
Couldn't do anything so I restored it with Sony Update Service. I need help how to flash that rom without bricking the device again? I have SGS3 and it is pretty simplier that this..
EDIT: Forgot to say that I tried to unlock the bootloader but it told me that it is already unlocked.
Before installing the Rom zip, what did you do inside the cwm?

Then you don't need X-Parts, just flash a kernel with CWM.

If I brick it again can it be reverted to stock ? I was looking at this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867265

[Q] LT15i bricked: how to get into CWM??

Good morning,
Yesterday, I tried to unlock and root my friend's Xperia Arc (LT15i). Although it was running FW .62, I did manage to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. I installed CWM, emptied the phone (I thought) and installed the Xperia Ultimate HD ROM.
Unfortunately, I think I forgot a detail. I wiped data/factory reset, cache and Dalvik, but after the installation of the ROM completed succesfully, rebooting the phone keeps it hanging at the Sony Ericsson logo. It seems to be hanging right at that moment, because the problem is that when I then press the Vol.Down button, I'm not getting back into CWM.
I tried to use the "Unbrick" option to flash an original .ftf file via Flashtool, but then I get the "Error in processHeader: 1 Incorrect function".
Can anybody give me a clue on how to:
a) get into CWM
or
b) restore the phone so I can try again
Thanks a lot in advance!
PS: is there a way to get in the bootloader and go to CWM from there? It all seems to be so much more difficult then on my own Nexus S

FW .62 is gingerbread ROM and UHD is ICS ROM.I think you forgot to install ICS kernel. Use the suggested lupus kernel for UHD or any other ICS kernel in Fastboot mod or using flash tool then you can boot into ICS.

Oh crap, I didn't even think about that I figured it would be implemented in the ROM. Thanks a lot, I'll try that right away when I get home! :good:

Flashing ROM doesn't flash kernel. You need to flash kernel if you are flashing different version of ROM like Gb,ICS,JB. Flash kernel, then go to CWM and flash ROM zip.

[Q] Stuck at kernel screen. Recovery wont load.

I hope someone can help my with this problem...
I had LuPuS v12 GB Kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849536
with Aurora Play 2.0 CRom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124442
Working just fine, but i decided it was time to change to a ICS based rom... So, I flashed LuPuS v7 Stock ICS/GB kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167766
Using this fastboot guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054512
which, btw, was the same I used to flash LuPuS v12 ....
But when I tried to boot in recovery mode (Volume down for CWR, Vol Up for TWRP), the screen just says TWRP for Lupus or CWR for lupus, without any kind of options... If I let the XPLAY boot normally, it just loops en the kernel screen....
I realized that I had to fastboot-erase user data and system... So I did it, and then flash the kernel again, with the same result. Nothing appears in the CWR or TWRP screen....
So I gave up LupusICS and Reflashed Lupusv12 for GB again, using the same method... but I got stuck with the same problem! the screen just loops in the LUPUS screen, and nothing appears in the recovery screen....
I even tried to use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493996
to see if I can get to recovery and use the restore option..... I get the FreeXperia Prpject screen, and then black.... NOTHING!
What did I get wrong? Is there a solution to this problem?
Please, help me....
Flash .79 or. 62 firmware with flashtool
Flash lupus kernel (ics or gb - your choise) ( but this time flash kernel with flashtool )
Erase system and data from fastboot
You should be able to boot to recovery.
I can't see what are you doing wrong, but steps above should fix any issues

Thank you

Thank you, I did the flashtool magic and it works like a charm... I used a "enhanced" firmware that comes with Auroraplay...
And I'm thinking, MAYBE this is why I got stuck.... MAYBE this firmware is not compatible with ICS Lupus...
Do you know where can I get a clean .79 or .62 firmware?
Edit: I got the clean firmware from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399
I'm sorry that I asked before looking myself...
The next question (and I've already looked), flashtools asks for a kernel.SIN file.... I've only seen kernel.IMG files
How do I flash the kernel with flashtools?
2nd Edit: NVM, I'm so stupid XD I got the answer to that, too....
BTW, excuse my broken English... this is not my native language....
And again, thank you for your help!
