Hi guys.
On my Arc S, everytime I turn on the GPS, pops up a warning about positioning data, privacy, etc etc......
In case of theft of the phone, if you use a software like "Cerberus", is stupid to noify the thief that you're tracking him using the GPS.
Is there a way to disable this notification?

Hi,
I've had a Desire since Saturday - my first "smart phone", so pardon me if this is an obvious question - however I have searched on here and on Google and my question is not satisfactorily answered.
I have a Skype account and Nimbuzz installed on the phone. It doesn't seem to be possible to receive call notifications when the phone is locked. I see that Nimbuzz is an active app but when the screen is locked it disconnects itself after a minute or so and thus loses notification ability for incoming calls. Unlocking the screen shows it connecting again.
Is there any way around this? It's pretty annoying - I was expecting more from an "always on internet" appliance... (ok, I admit, it's pretty amazing in every other respect, but I'm being picky).
Anyone have any comments on this?
Which kind of connectivity are you using?
The default for WiFi (you can change it by using the menu key in the WiFi settings page) is for WiFi to disconnect after a time when the device is locked.
If you're trying with WiFi and you don't have a mobile data connection, perhaps the problem is that: WiFi sleeping when the phone gets locked.
Try altering the "WiFi suspension policy" and set it to "Never" if you think you might be in this case...
skype incoming calls problem in locked screen on android
Thanks this has solved my problem, it works fine on my android nexus2 but when the screen is locked I don't receive notifications of skype calls so I went to the wireless settings, went to advanced, then switched off the wireless sleep problem and now it works.
on the PC my skype call notification is within the first ring
on the android it's usually the 3rd or 4th ring on screen lock, and 2nd ring when not in screen lock.
Everytime mobile data (through quick settings) is turned off, a notification pops-up with message "Unless you use Wifi, you will not be able to use the Internet, Email, or other apps......... Cancel OK".
Is it possible to turn off this notification?
TIA.
Man, these kind of bugs are why I love custom ROMs. Totally lame that this crap is left "unfixed" and they also lock to bootloader to protect the crap.

Hi guys, I am using standard (unsecure) lock screen, but recently I often put the phone away when working, so I enabled PIN for unlocking the screen, and some options in Smart Lock settings (face recognition and location)... it works nice, but after only 8 hours of using Google Play Services used 40% of battery... When disabled PIN and Smart Lock, battery usage went down... Did anybody had similar issues? Is it possible they poor job on this part of system? I mean, I understand that for face recognition, camera must turn on for couple of seconds, and I guess for location services, device will refresh location more often then without this enabled, but my GPS is turned off...
Yes those features use more battery. Gps isn't the only location method. Wifi and cell towers are used too.
Battery guru may help. See the playstore.
Beamed in by telepathy.
it's too annoying
worst thing is that I can't set PIN to be requested after 5 minutes (or 3), and to enable lockscreen in the meantime. This way, I keep unlocking phone in my pocket
Between this and not being able to activate Google assistant by voice, I'm thinking of getting another phone.
Is there any way to turn the screen off without locking the phone?
Hello?
Dont set any lock/finger auth may be..
I turn the GPS on about daily. Every time I turn it on it asks for consent. I have to hit agree or it won't turn on. Very annoying when I'm trying to activate while driving. Also coming from a Pixel 3 all I did was tap GPS and it turned on, no constant consent message.
Any way to auto turn consent on?
At a guess you might need to go to settings/apps select the app that you want gps to use. Select permissions and allow all the time or only while using the app.
