[Q]random reboots on my xperia play - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys I've been having random reboot issues lately and i can't figured out what is actually happening. Sometimes it just reboots itself, randomly every time.
I thought flash another rom or kernel would solve the issue but it doesn't seems to work, any ideas?
I'm currently on DFR3.0.5 rom and DF kernel.

Are you overclocking and/or undervolting?

not really, i only overclock when i play certain games, otherwise i'll set it back to normal.

Is this question sounds stupid? It seems that nobody else would bother to reply it?

i have it some times like every 6weeks believe it or not its currently on stock, but that's made no difference had it happen on custom Rom's also and its allways at about 5 am just sitting there rebooting over and over. not sure if that's what you are getting?

it just sometimes rebooting itself, so i have no idea how and why

Try reflashing back to stock and don't change ANYTHING. Install your programs or whatever, but don't root it or any major system changes.
Use it for a while and see if it reboots. If it doesn't, you did something to it, overclocking/volting, and you need to figure it out.
If it keeps doing it, I hope it's under warrenty. But it also could be the battery.

Hardware isse
I have had 2 XP's and both returned as they randomly rebooted. When I called Dial-a-Phone(UK) to enquire they put me through to their support department. I had to do a factory reset, then install an update from Sony's website and try it out. Still did not work so they said it is a hardware issue. Fortunately I returned mine withing 28 days so got an instant replacement. Pity the second one did the same. I have returned that too and am awaiting my 3rd phone(what can I say, I love the phone). If this one does the same thing I will be moving though cannot be without a reliable phone at the moment(expecting baby) I hope you are covered by the warranty. Good luck.

Annoying as f*** I know mine are fairly rare they were more often when I was all stock two things that reduce it are an apkiller and everyday reboot

I reflashed my df rom and never overclock it.....(since i didn't play asphalt nowadays)....it seems like the probs has been fixed, or maybe not happening yet

Mines been rebooting randomly for the last three days now. In fact it just rebooted while I as reading this.
Sometimes tends to happen when I slide in or out the keyboard. It's breaking my heart as I love this phone :-(

If you have tried to repair the phone software via PC Companion and not installed any third party app's and it still reboots it needs to be checked at a repair center.
Contact your local support team for info about repair centers.

I have had the same problem, but my phone is only rebooting during games(especially HD games). Almost everytime I play Shadow Guardian HD, Backstab HD, or NBA Jam. I never have problems with FPSE and psx games. I am using DOOMkernel v. 11 and I OverClock to 1.14 or 1.21 max and 249 min when I am ready to start up my games. I am also using supercharger V.6 on 512 hp. Should I be overclocking at a higher voltage to stop reboots?

I started getting random reboots under .62. And hooking it up to logcat I was getting ANR errors from a ton of background 3rd party apps.
I think my issue was related to moving from Link2SD to App2SD. I forced all my apps to .android_secure and I think there was one app that didn't play nice. Anyhoo, restored back to .42 and my sd-ext and it works like it did.

3rd one going nuts!!!
An update to my previous posts. Received my third one late last week and have been really using it to make sure it does not randomly reboot. No problem there I am happy to say. The problem I had a day or so ago, is that when I was typing a text message fast, my screen went bonkers and started typing by itself. It then opened my phone app and selected a contact to call, it then opened and closed some apps and closed them. I pressed the home screen but nothing, so powered down and booted it up again. It just carried on going crazy so powered down again and took the battery out, the sim card and also the SD card too. This seems to have "fixed" it for now as I have not been able to replicate the problem. Anyone else had this issue?
FYI - I have been playing Asphalt 6 HD with absolutely no problems at all, as well as a couple of other games.

I think i just had a reboot yesterday night by itself...the reason i know it is the application will kinda er....reset it's position in drawers, some apps shortcuts disappears from my home and so on.....
just when i thought my problem has solved.........

I think it was batter

I also got this problem after changing with china battery. But when using an original battery it was ok. I buy extra for gaming. But now my original battery already missing. Hadoii...

To determine if your phone rebooted overnight, you can install "Android Terminal Emulator" from the Play Store and run the command "uptime", it tells you how much time has passed since the last boot
Or find an app that tells you that...

Evo reboots during use

Weird problem, had my Evo for a couple of days now and everything seemed fine for the first day but now when I run certain apps like google maps for pandora my Evo will reboot. This doesn't happen all the time but will eventually happen after an hour or two of usage. I did buy a case for my phone, maybe it's a heat issue?

I've had this happen on my hero. It is just clearing memory are you using autokiller ? It started on my hero when using autokiller. It's not a heat issue the led will flash red and green when the phone is hot.
I'm using advanced task killer but I don't think it's set to autokill apps. A hard reset has seemed to fix this issue for now, how do I ensure it doesn't happen again in the future?
It might help to check your preset in autokiller and set to moderate or optimum but some apps use more memory than others so you might see it from time to time. I still use autokiller set on extreme and would only see that once every week or two on the hero. So it's not that big of a deal. You could just uninstall it if it bugs you or to see if it stops. I have not seen it on my evo yet but I am just rooted no custom ROM yet (Waiting for fresh ROM with espresso theme). That might help contribute to it as well.
taziz23, I don't mean to hi-jack your thread but I've been chasing down the cause of random reboots also. I've been searching around for someone with a similar issue and all I've been finding are people talking about the reboot loop caused by an exchange account. I'm not using exchange at the moment so I know that's not what's affecting me.
It sounds similar to what you're talking about. About 30 minutes to an hour apart regardless of whether I'm using the phone or not. It just did it while sitting on the desk next to me with the screen off for at least 15 minutes.
I've hard reset a few times to see if it was related to the OTA, and turns out it happens to both .1 and .6
I've found out that if I don't associate my google account during the initial setup (or any other accounts like facebook, twitter, etc.) it doesn't seem to reboot anymore. Once I do setup an account and set it to auto sync, I start seeing the reboots happening. So I've been playing with different combinations of disabling calendar sync, contacts sync, etc. to narrow it down but so far, I've come up with nothing.
I've even exported my contacts to a .cvs file using my desktop browser and cleaning out any of the <HTCDATA> stuff that links facebook and twitter to make sure nothing is corrupt and reimported them, but as the reboots are still happening, it looks like that might rule out contact corruption.
I had made it through most of Friday before the reboots started. I recall installing the update to Facebook and TasKiller just before it started happening, but have hard reset since then and have not installed either of these again.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
Two words: Kernel Panic.
Actually, that's just a guess. I'd imagine anything else would cause some kind of error message to show up like a force close for example.
It has happened with my Evo a few times so far. It also happened with my Hero when I use to use that.
It's probably just a module misbehaving which confuses the OS and causes the kernel panic, so I imagine it's nothing more than a software bug.
Yea... I was thinking some KP's might be happening, but if the release build is dated in April, I must have some fluky hardware right?
Maybe I'll run an `adb logcat` and just wait.
I remember the hard crashes on some of the early donut and eclair builds for the Vogue (CDMA Touch) and these are pretty much the same deal. Just drops out and goes straight to the bootsplash.
Regardless of the phone or OS, I've seen this happen on all the phones I've owned. Android is at least open to allow normal people to debug and fix these problems though.
Me too!
I had a seemingly random reboot happen today on my EVO as well... then it happened again.
Both times, I had Waze and Pandora running and was about 30 seconds into a phone call.
Advanced Task Killer is installed, and is set to kill "when screen off".
I'm pretty new to Android based phones, so I'm not even sure where to start with troubleshooting... but found this thread, and thought this info may help.
Krissy
(P.S. I love this phone so much, right now - I don't even care that it has rebooted on me twice in the middle of a phone call... but eventually the honeymoon will be over, and I'll want this figured out. LOL)
I am having an exact same ISSUE i got it from google I/O its just happened suddenly while you are using it I have no Idea .. Search is also not that great .. Platform need lot of work until it get mature .... I was definately enjoying 1st 2 weeks but not anymore its just killing me now ... Issues after Issues so many Bugs I have start noticing now.. I am not complanning but its just not solid they need to fix this asap... I was enjoying Pre it was slow but I like that OS .. not too much buggy... some apps just Crash randomly .. I was huh .. and its doing more and more now ..
After my hard reset a couple of days ago I haven't had any reboots. I do think it was related to the task killer I think it might have caused some data corruption possibly when killing an application. I set the auto killer to safe in the meantime. If it stats happening again I'll try uninstalling the task killer before I hard reset.
I had the same thing happen, but only once. I was using google maps I think. I also have advance task killer installed. Does the ignore list in advance task killer and setting it to auto kill, kill everything except for what's in the ignore list?
I'm not sure but I did notice that most of my reboots were happening when running google maps..
My Evo rebooted most days 4 or 5 times, day or night, in use or not. The store where I purchased it refused to replace it since I couldn't duplicate the problem to the local technical store. They acted like I needed someone to talk to and not like I had a problem needing resolution. After about 20 calls to customer support they told me to return it where I purchased it and they're sending me out a new one. Apparently no one at Sprint has ever heard that there's this issue. Mine was stock. Period.
I have had some reboot issues that I can't explain. I removed Advance Task killer and it seems to happen less frequent. Maybe once every two days, but never during a call. Waiting to see if this stops with Froyo.
Used to have similar, but less frequent, reboot issues and an occasional "frozen" screen with my previous Blackberry 8830.
I've only had it reboot once or maybe twice for no reason but When I use advanced task kill I almost expect it to happen. And I only use it to kill whatever app I was just using and any other ones Ive downloaded that have no business running.
I have had the same issue, only I am using the full version of Memory Booster..I am going to uninstall it and see if that helps, I also notice that my phone was very hot. It rebooted about 3 times before letting me use the phone again.
Any other suggestions?

No matter which ROM I flash, using Google Maps reboots my fone.

It started when I first installed leedroid 2.3d after rooting my fone, then with CM7 RC1, Modaco Fr11 (default options, with MoDaCo additions), CM7 RC2 and StarBurst Lite. I faced the same issue while using Google Maps (data & GPS on). It keeps rebooting. Sometimes it would reboot within a minute or so after starting Google Maps. Sometimes it would take 5 minutes. Not sure what the issue is, but I have a feeling this may not have anything to do with Google Maps or GPS. Cos couple of times the fone rebooted while playing some games with an active wifi connection. But the problem occurs 100% with Google Maps.
I never faced this issue before rooting the fone or even after rooting. The problem only started after flashing the first ROM. After that I have even tried restoring the previous backup for stock ROM, but even that started giving this issue.
Here are the details about my fone:
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.14.05.17
8 GB micro sd card with 512 MB ext partition. I guess its class 4.
Another thing to note is that when I try use a memory card reader to read it on my windows 7 PC, it just wont show up. The same thing happens if I try to use gParted boot CD to read the card. However android seems to read it perfectly fine. I am even able to mount the card from fone using USB storage option.
Is this memory card the issue?
I forgot to mention that I was using apps2sd+ in some form or another for all ROMS except StarDust Lite which was using Data2SD script.
Have you tried running the application when it is stored entirely on the phone (not part or whole to SD)?
Reboots and Bootloops have been present in the latest ROMs. The latest Oxygen ROM has applied the Google update to apparently fix these. It's there to try in the ROM section for you 2.0.2.
Dude,
You're not gonna like what I'm gonna say, but your symptoms match those of mine. Check out the thread I created here.
Now, adding to that, the rebooting started again but this time when using Wifi for a long period, playing games and using mobile data.
What I'd do is try rule out Google Maps. Try use Navigon or iGo.
Two things I learned was that changing ROM's won't help. Neither will changing radio's.
Of course it could just be Brandall mentions.

I haven't tried running an application purely from the internal memory. However when I restored my stock HTC Desire Froyo backup, the issue still existed. That didnt have any script for apps2sd+ so Google Maps was running purely from the internal memory. Anyways, I will try the Oxygen ROM later today evening and see if that fixes it. I have also ordered for a class 10 16 GB micro sd card. Lets see if that helps.

I have already ruled Google Maps out since I was able to re-produce the issue even with other navigation softwares like Sygic Mobile Maps & NDrive. I am even able to re-produce the issue without turning on GPS or using any navigation app. Just an active wifi and playing games will also reboot the phone randomly.
One thing I noticed today morning was that when the phone rebooted, the back of the phone was very hot. On removing the cover I noticed that the area below the SIM card gets hot. Is there where the processor chip is? Is it possible that may be somehow the CPU was over clocked by certain ROM which I have flashed before? Is there a way by which I can check this under current ROM (Stardust)?

I would suggest that first you monitor your CPU usage and battery temperature with SetCPU - it can be downloaded for free here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 (worth a donate though!)
You can set up a profile to monitor your battery temperature and sound an alarm if it's getting too hot. Running this whist testing your GPS may well diagnose the problem. You can also ensure that you are not somehow already overclocking (which I think is very unlikely).
If this is new to you, make sure you have a good read of the instructions so you don't blow your phone up!
Assuming overheating is the issue, then hopefully you are under warranty and you can return to stock and send the phone back.
For further diagnosis on CPU Usage, battery temperature levels and discovering apps that are taking up resource, I would suggest SystemPanel from the market https://market.android.com/details?id=nextapp.systempanel.r1 - it's pretty damn sh*t hot and has a monitoring service for diagnosis. I'm not sure if that's available on the free version though, but if you try it, you'll want to buy it anyway...
Let us know how you get on. Good luck!
I'm gonna be blunt, I've been through this.
You are wasting your time dude. If your phone is still under warrantee, flash an original RUU and take it back to get repaired.
Its a hardware problem.

brandall, I have now tried it all now but nothing stops the random reboots. I guess I will have to get it replaced while its still under warranty. Lately the phone reboots even without getting hot. Plus, it reboots even without having any active wifi or data connection. Just playing Angry Birds Rio or Angry Birds Seasons for a while will reboot the phone. The only time it doesn't reboot is if use the phone for listening to music or while taking calls or messages. Other than that, it will randomly reboot on using any "smart" application. Even the browser...its damn frustrating. Thanks brandall.

[PROBLEM] Random freezes/crashes on Desire

Hey,
I know theres a lot of threads about htc/android phones freezing and crashing/rebooting but none of them really described my exact situation. And since it's getting worse and worse and driving me crazy, I wanted to ask for help.
As the title suggests my HTC Desire keeps freezing and crashing (sometimes rebooting, too).
It all probably started shortly before I first rooted my device, following the great sticky noob-tutorial. First problem was, that sometimes my phone wouldn't wake up from standby, especially after I a missed call (rooting didn't solve that problem).
Some time later, now rooted and with a custom ROM, I noticed, that sometimes when I wanted to use my phone, it showed the PIN-screen, which obviously means, that it rebooted quietly (don't remember if this also happened before rooting).
A few days ago it started to completely freeze, when connected to the charger. Orange LED showed it was charging but no reaction to pressing any buttons or disconnect the charger.
Since yesterday it also crashes randomly in standby mode (can't wake it up) or e.g. when watching a video (just freezes the device, no reaction to button-pressing, screen stays on etc.)
now I am running the stability test with the charger connected - no problem for 1h10min til now...
The ROM I am running is the latest cool sense (problems also existed before the latest update)
No modification of CPU (I used to use SetCPU but since I thought that would cause the problems I uninstalled it -> no improvement)
What could be the problem here? (And how can I solve it, of course?)
Anything else than a full wipe, which could help? (that would be my last option...)
Thanks for helping...
it just happened again -.-
I was just backing up some apps with titanium backup and in the middle of scrolling through the list - freeze!
dunno what to do...
is this hardware or software related?...
Hello.
It would be pretty easy if it is a soft problem. This kind of problems are usually dealt with by installing another ROM and see if the problems persist. So if you want to try and eliminate the last option, go and install another ROM, it can be a Stock ROOT-ed ROM, Sense or anything.
The fact that you mentioned your phone was crashing even before rooting got me thinking it is a motherboard fault. I've read some threads in which people had the same problems, and in the end they all got to the same conclusion: motherboard fault. The only resolve with this is to get it to guarantee.
So first of all try installing another ROM and if the problems persist, you will need to install a RUU and see if this one eliminates your problem. If not then I don't know if there is anything else you could do, besides getting it to the guarantee.
I wait for your progress.
Hi,
thanks for your reply.
The funny thing is, that I didnt have those problems with this ROM in the beginning. Everything was fine, that's why I was using it the whole time. But as I said before, it became worse by and by... thats why I thought it could be an app or so...
that would be a recent list of apps: appbrain.com/user/marioiram/
Cannot even sync my newest list, because after freezing while watching a video, it froze again shortly after reboot... still getting worse
Try reinstalling the ROM or installing another ROM.
hm.. just when I was thinking about following your advice, my desire stopped freezing xD
no crash, no freeze oder reboot since my last post.
I even tried to force it by watching videos, playing games, connect to the charger etc.
everything is fine... strange.
Will see for how long
Well this is good news. Just keep in mind what you can do if the rebooting comes back. Hope it doesn't
Well, it did xD
Now even shortly after reboot. I'll try ROM changes as soon as I get home but there's something I noticed: it often freezes when it's supposed to display a whatsapp notification and sometimes it seems there's a problem with the sdcard (just bought a new one because my old one went nuts). Sometimes the notification 'sdcard was removed unexpectedly' (translated from German) is appearing, but after waiting a few minutes everything is fine again...
Well I'll try some stuff when there's time...

Random Reboots

Does anyone else suffer from random reboots with there device? it does it twice a day or more for me???
Is there anything i can do to stop this issue from happening again?
I.e wipe user data???
I've had it once or twice. Presumably a rogue app or a bug in the system.
I haven't suffered from a random reboot at all since having the phone on the second day of availability in the UK.
Then again, I haven't rooted mine, unlike others...
Yes I have had a few reboots in the few couple of days. Been ok since though

Not a single crash or random reboot so far. I rebooted last Friday after charging my battery and it's been running since without problems. My best guess is that culprit is one of your applications that you've installed, especially any application that tries to do something with Android and the device itself.

I had these reboots on a G2X and it drove me bonkers so I am always worried about phones doing it and I watch uptime like a hawk. Nexus has been rock solid since I turned it on the first time. No reboots. Sometimes it's apps and sometimes your use case just exposes a bug in the OS. Try doing a wipe and installing a few apps at a time so you can figure out what's causing it n
I had a couple within the first few days... nothing for a while...
This is just speculation, but I remembered seeing a thread somewhere in another form, in which a user with another device with the same random reboot problem was advised to check his sim card. A bad sim card may "vanish" for a while, causing the device to reboot. Again, just speculation, or if you wish, a hypothesis you can check.
I have something similar, the first time was when I was charging my phone, I woke up in the morning and I found my phone off and hot as hell. Battery pull and everything went perfect. then it happened to me 5 times, the phone freezes and turns itself off, then I have to do a battery pull! the last time was today I was listening to some music, then the music went weird, then the phone froze and turned itself off.
I called Three for a new phone as I have it for under 14days
It looks like there is an issue that google hopefully acknowledges like they did with nexus s.
I was listening to music on my way down the sidewalk thus morning and the mp3 started doing a loop of about 1 sec of the track over and over. Finally heard a pop and it went silent. Had to do a battery pull when I got on the subway.
Then on the subway about 10-20 seconds into a track after starting some music back up the track restarted. So I stopped playback thinking it may happen again.
I'll try to do what I can over the coming days to recreate this.

I would think that would cause more problems than that. I was listening to some tunes for a bit last night with no issue. And the issue this morning happened with two different tracks.
I had added a battery gauge widget to my home screen last night, I removed it just now. I'll try to recreate the problem from here without adding more apps or widgets. If I can successfully recreate it I'll try to hook up adb and get some logs.

I'm getting another problem now. I've taken off GO SMS so I dont think its that. But when I get a notification (i.e SMS, email), I go to wake up my phone and the unlock screen appears. However it wont recognise any touches on the screen, then sometimes it will come back to life and other times it will reboot itself.
Never had a random reboot, I have go SMS installed.

I was having random reboots when the phone was just sitting there with the screen off.
I had SetCPU under clocking when the screen was off, I removed SetCPU and my random reboots went away.

Xperia Z1C sudden crash and reboot

Hello,
I want to mention that I didnt have any problems with my phone until 1 week ago. I just connected my phone to the charger right before I sleep, as usual, but I didnt notice that it rebooted the whole night. When I woke up I saw my phone with the time crashed and it was really hot. I turned it off for 2 hours but that of course didnt fix anything, so I tried to repair it through Xperia Companion. Then my phone seemed to be fine until a few hours later, it crashed and after a few minutes it rebooted. I didnt give up and I reset it to factory settings, but no difference at all. The phone keeps crashing and rebooting at random times (sometimes with an error message like " {this app} has stopped working", various apps but usually "Xperia Home"). What could cause this issue?

If it's persistent with a phone restore by PCCompanion, I would say some hardware failure. Are you rooted? You could maybe try with a different custom rom or something, and see what happens...

Thanks for replying, I'll try a custom rom. Do you have any good one to suggest?

If you don't care about camera, any of the newer N roms are very nice - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/z1c-nougat-roms-t3460868. If camera is an issue, you'll need to stay on LP. Try Jaguar or Cm12.
*UPDATE*
I searched a bit further about my issue and in the depth of my search I found someone that told that some clean type apps can cause this problem. I have Clean Master on my phone so I deleted it. From that time I havent experienced any crash or freeze or reboot. I still dont know the reason I had this app for 8 months without any problems, I dont understand what changed now.

I thought when you said you restored with PCCompanion that meant that it was happening with clean flash and no apps installed. Cleaner apps can often cause those types of problems, and it's questionable if they even help anything. If you must have one, I recommend SDMaid.

It didnt even cross my mind that it would be any difference to mention that I reinstalled all the apps I had because I never thought that such a "usefull" app could do that damage to a phone. Im glad its fixed .
Same problem. Connected my phone to charger, wake up next morning and saw that data disabled that pops up every time phone boots, but i didn't bother and just swiped it. Later that day i kept on seeing those notifications but i didn't bother as always until my phone just froze while i was using it. I could lock it but screen just went black and same image stayed there when i unlocked it. I had to restart it with that force button under sim cover. Problem was still there after reboot so i did factory reset and it was good for few days (more like 1 day) but it happened again. So i did system reinstall with pccompanion and it worked until for a week maybe and i thought i fixed it until few hours ago when it happened again. Phone was hot whenever that happened and crash.monitor keeps crashing ironically (i think that's the cause.) I never had any cleaning apps (i had clean master app lock for locking my apps tho)
oh my god... this is exactly the same Problem and I've been having it also for about the same time. It happened first on the night from Wed, 21st to Thur 22nd. When I woke up I only saw this screen which says, thats its restoring Apps (E.g. "Restoring apps 70 out of 200" and ongoing) Happens sometimes when it crashed - which was rare - so I didn't bother too much with it, but it kept freezing suddenly and randomly at any kind of app and screen went black, only thing I could still do was long press Power button, but sometimes it wouldnt even recognize the touch e.g. to select reboot. After a while in that state it soft rebooted itself. I also force rebooted it a few times with Power + Volume Up Key.
Also tried everything, like factory reset, Software repair through Xperia Companion, then switched SD-Card, an even replaced the battery because I didn't know what else it could be. This got me so far, that I was considering flashing a different Rom and just f*** it. Now I happen to find this thread by looking through the Xperia Forum - I didn't find it through Google... That's kinda sad, I might've not opened my phone if that App is srsly at fault... but oh well. I am just as surprised as you: I thought it could be an app but had everything up to date. And tbh.. I didn't even bother with this Clean Master. I installed it 3 years ago and used it a few times.. and kinda forgot about it, so it didn't come to my mind at all that this could be the problem. I'll uninstall it now and report back if it's solved for me, too.
Can you go to diagnostics and see application incidents. If you see only crash monitor tell me. That's where problem lies most likely

In diagnostics in "start" tab i can see everything. It says 19 systems incidents, 96 application not responding and 75 Application incidents. All of this was from yesterday and earlier. Hadnt had a crash today but I'll see how it goes from now on. What do you mean by "see only crash monitor"? You mean if you didn't accept sony to collect the crash data?
You also wrote, you were using Clean Master, did you uninstall it and did this fix the issue for you, too?
In system accidents there should be only com.sonyericsson.crashmonitor.
I said i was using Clean Master AppLock not antivirus. It's just app that can lock other apps with pin so nobody can acces it without pin.
Also you can check out this where we discuss about same problem
umm in system incidents it only shows a time and date whenever a crash happened. If you mean App incidents instead: I think I understand what you're getting at. As in: If theres another app in the incidents, this is the culprit. Well, as I said it happened very randomly before you can't pin it down on a certain app. Whatever I was using crashed and gave a crash report but most incidents were with "system-ui" Anyways, had no crash since uninstall of Clean Master. So I'm good for now.
When did I mention antivirus? Im referring to this:

So Clean Master, even if you only use it to Pin Lock your apps, might be the problem. Do you still have this problem anyway? Seems like yes, since you're considering to flash a custom Rom.

Hello,
so mine was all good aswell untill last morning I it apperently overheated overnight or something because the battery went from 82% to 0% in about 5 hours and it was hot as hell , ever since it would crash 5 seconds after being booted , can't even connect it to companion because it turns itself off ......Considering flushing it .

You don't need phone to be turned on to use xperia companion and flashing new software. Just open it click on repair software and follow instructions. After that just dont install official facebook app since thats most likley cause of crashing. Install some 3rd party client like simple pro. I use that one its awesome
