Is there an app or a flashable zip that can give one of the ICS launchers the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen??
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
That's not a launcher thing, it is a framework thing in the SystemUI and has to be enabled through edits. I am not sure how to make those edits but why would you want to do this when you have buttons not to mention they take up valuable screen space.
You could try a direct pull of the Launcher2.apk from the Galaxy Nexus but I am sure it's a framework/systemUI thing not a launcher thing.
there is an ice cream sandwich launcher in the market.

Not what he was asking for but i cant blame you
And yeah im guessing it is system ui edits
Also i see no poit of having them
They are a waste of space on the screen since we have realish buttons

Try this, its the ice launcher with the soft buttons doesn't force close as much as the 4.0 version launcher.

Trust me and the rest of this people those screen on buttons are a pain in the ass... I hated them on the ns4g

So far making the edits will give me an error when compiling.

This one tries to imitate the look ICS if you haven't seen it already in the market:

It has been attempted but the framework is so different that until there are stable ports to different devices it will not work out.
The one in the market to me just isn't good at all. I mean they did good work but just the fact that they insist on having those onscreen buttons there and not make them option is what bugs me the most. The app drawer is going to be a chore to try to even imitate. Like I said they do good work but they don't seem to take user input very seriously.
I feel the same about all android imitated launchers in the market, froyo, GB, ICS ex... But I think Ics is ugly anyways, that's why when it comes out for our phone, I will theme the hell out of it on day #1.

It's got cool animations. A ics style app drawer.. folders... I think it looks better than tw4 since our screen is pretty damn big.

considering the fact that the gs3 is being launced with ICS, yes, you need ICS.
Hi. But this TW launcher can't be used in ICS with AOSP. It's true???

Ghostziden posted a link that led to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26392738
I downloaded the 4*5 one. I didn't flash, I put the lib file in system/lib and copied the system/app files, fixed permissions and reboot. I needed to make a bit of room in 'system' and I wouldn't bother trying calendar as op says it forcecloses. Launcher runs silky smooth though - my new favorite.
Is it possible to do that? What are the requirements or apks needed to have that???

I believe it's framework-res.apk (Not 100% sure on this one) and services.jar. Might need android-policy.jar, too. They're Smali edits I think. I haven't ever done it before, but those are the files you should need, unless Jellybean has added something new.
Can't believe they didn't include a lockscreen option, i loved it lol

I believe this is what you're looking for
http://goo.gl/OsC2g
Actually, I believe it's a Smali in android policy that needs to be changed from 2 to 1 (2 being the determined variable for touchwiz lock screen and 1 being the stock aosp one.). Samsung doesn't remove any aosp code when they overlay it with Touchwiz, they just add Touchwiz stuff into it.
I nay be able to look at it later but it'd be much more effective for a dev to do this. Lol

I have been getting pretty bored of the aosp lockscreen and thought why not modify the original circle lock. If anyone is interested in this please let me know. I'm not sure if this should be a thread just yet so don't flame me.. I want everyone to be part of the creation of this mod!
Atm I made a small edit to the smali... >.>
I changed the small circle to expand and the big to stay large .
What can make this lock screen better?
Mods I plan on doing soon
Remove help text.
Change the clock somehow.
Modify the animations.
Download.
I won't be linking any downloads right now... as it's pretty much the stock lock besides the animation backwards.
Definitely over the aosp lock myself. The stock TW one is my favorite so I think a modified version would be epic. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Tw and aosp combined would be epic. So like tw you can touch anywhere on the screen and lock screen appears but you can have shortcuts to the circle!

Scrollable wallpapers are no longer enabled in stock ICS.
This had something to do with the Apple/Samsung lawsuit. The only 2 apps I know it works with are Apex and Go Launcher. Not swearing to it though. I think you have to enable it in Apex.
