[Q] Can't flash with Flashtool

I tried many times and many versions of flashtool but my phone just won't flash any firmware. Unknown source and debugging mode were selected, but I always get Erro Flashing Aborted and it is really starting to annoy me.
Anyone could help????
let me help u out. u should check and do the following steps:
1. Turn on debugging mode + unknown resource in application setting
2. Make sure, drivers for xperia arc fastboot are installed correctly (no yellow hardware warning in "device manager" windows when you use flash mode
3. install sonyerricson software update and update services from sony website (this will correct ur xperia arc driver)
4. Try to update ur firmware from "update services", it will guide u through flash mode. in my case, that will not let me updated bcoz i already unlocked bootloader. The reason i did update via update services is just want it install correct usbdrivers for my arc
5. Go back to flashtool, now i'm pretty sure u can run flashing as smoothly as silk

Problem is that my bootloader can't be unlocked... No blue light while holding menu button+connecting cable.
I even tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115542 but it failed on Installing User Data.sin (at only one milimeter from succes). I am going crazy over it.... Had to use SEUS seven times so far to have the phone work again.
did u buy sim-locked phone?

So as you may already be aware phones like mine, (orange uk) have the fastboot locked down, and so we cant unlock the bootloader.
I for one believe it can be accessed but needs a little bit of time and research on getting it done.

You are doing it wrong. Rooting =/= Unlocking bootloader.
If you wish to root, you have to follow a guide, given in the General part of this forum.

You are trying to unlock bootloader or root your phone? or both ? the driver issue where exactly?

Please help!

Hello to everyone,
I've been trying to root this phone for about 2 hours without any success. It isn't my phone, I have rooted (and every other stuff) HTC, but process is really different on Arc S.
My main goal is just to install Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920207, with stock kernel and everything, I just want to install the ROM.
I've downloaded DoomLoRD v4 tool to root it, but I can't figure out what's the problem, I think it's something with ADB drivers.
So PLEASE, can anyone tell me which tools do I must have to root that phone? Where should I install that ADB drivers (and how exactly), do I have to have flashtool or something else, or DoomLoRD v4 tool is enough?
Thanks 1000 times for the one who replies me, I just want to root that phone, and now what I have to do and have installed to succeed.
Have you tried to root your Arc with Eroot?

I just want to mention that I'm on latest official ICS 4.0.4.
No i haven't, i didn't see that anywhere. I'll try and then inform you about it. And just one thing about those ADB drivers, i just have to connect the phone to PC and that's it? If PC recognizes the phone that means that drivers are installed?
Thank you

For ADB drivers, many people have problem with these drivers. In your situation, run eroot and connect your phone, if ADB drivers are installed correctly then your phone will be recognized by eroot and you can root it.

"Waiting for device"

A whole day it took my to root my phone,as i had to downgrade to windows 7 from windows,HOWEVER i had to delete the windows 7 i got and get a new one due to a driver issue. Then after i rooted my phone i was looking forward to fast boot a mod i got...yet it does not work.
So i attempted to unlock the boot loader, but yet again a problem arose where i am unable to unlock it because the command prompt just says "Waiting for device" as you will see in the attachment. I.I have searched all over, done all i could, and i cant resolved the issue! So please someone end my misery and help me fix this.
Fastboot message: device must be rooted first. No root.
ADB: Settings/Developer Options/Usb debug->enable usb debugging mode
