scripts are better..but we dont have a strong and dependable script yet that will really save battery..anyways scripts only work if the rom supports init.d i think?

as per my understanding, when a rom has init.d support it automatically runs the scripts in the init.d folder. as per my experience on creeds rom, maybe its just me, but the scripts dont run, so an alternative is install script manager and have those sscripts load on boot. on my stock rom, i ran zipalign, sdtweaks, some kernel tweaks, (from creeds rom), through script manager. and it works!!

try this one, i flashet it a minute ago, will give a response later :

i only use 4 scripts from creed rom, then 2 from zepp,
here: v6supercharger(99supercharger), 98kickasskernel, 03sdcardfix, 09zpa, 19batterfix,, wehatenornalizedsleep
open script manager. browse to /system/etc/init.d/ or to where your scripts are located. select the scipt, then a menu-like will pop tick the skull and gear icon. skull for run as root and gear for run at boot. hit save and you're good to go. reboot. go to script manager again to verify if it ran, menu, advanced, view logs, at boot. then select a script, if it is green means no error, if blue it has. select it to.view the output.
i recommended those script i mention above zpa for zipalign, sdtweak for read.ahead.kb and others for kernel tweaks.

most of it ia found on creeds rom browse to /system/etc/init.d/ and for the 99supercharger abd 98kernel just go to this thread forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
download v6supercharger and kickasskernelizer tweak and 3gturbocharger.
ill try to add the scripts here.
edit:
i zipped it. just EXTRACT it, (DO NOT FLASH!!) anywhere put all permission then set it up at script manager.
I DO NOT OWN THESE SCRIPTS. I JUST WANT TO SHARE IT. THANKS.
im not responsible for anything if you flash this.

the 99supercharger and 98kernelizer is generated by the scripts v6 supercharger and kickasskernel respectively.
for 3g and wifi fix/boost try his 3g turbocharger.
tested on stock dxla1 and on creeds 2,0 and 2,1
i hope it helps.
i think creeds rom does not support init.d i read somewhere here a tut on how to check it and it gave me a negative answer. and the kernel.also.must support init.d so that the rom may support it too.

answer: dim the screen !

is this applicable with SGY?
also this one.

[ROM] GingerICE 2.1 (Android 2.3.6 EU based, Custom .35 Kernel with OC capability)

Hello!
I just wanna share with you my modification of KezraPlane's rom V4. I called it GingerICE, cause I want to give this rom a little of ICS flavour . I took chrsi555 ported notifications and build them into rom, so that you don't need to flash them separately. I've also removed TouchwizUI. Most of the samsung apps are removed (all the hubs , and other s*** stuff, inlcluding Kies, and all samsung widgets). I've tried to strip this rom as much as it can handle, but still keep it functional, and a little social . And I've undo memory swap (so it is just like in original rom), internal memory is mounted on /sdcard, and external memory is on /sdcard/external_sd/
CHANGELOG:
GingerICE 1.0 (Link removed):
- Go Launcher EX (atm it is my favorite launcher)
- ICS Theme for Go launcher EX (you have to aplay it)
- Transparent skins fo Go Launcher Widgets (you have to aplay it, to every widget)
- Go Widget Task Manager (it is very simple to use, and always available on the desktop)
- RAM Manager FREE (just use first option in application: Balance, if you want other options I suggest buying pro application)
GingerICE 2.0 (Link removed):
- updated added apps (GO launcher and additions)
- completly new kernel with OC capability (latest one from Cowithgun!)
- Working SmartAssV2 (credit: erasmux), OnDemandX (credit: imoseyon) and MinMax (credit: erasmux) CPU governors.
- more ram (360MB), and other performance improvements that new kernel brings
- removed some workaround, that I've used for market (been there because of known problems with account), maybe this was causing force close problems to some of you
GingerICE 2.1 both OC and NON OC:
- updated to latest cowithgun kernel, wchi has a fix for playing 720p video with hardware acceleration (now only 359MB ram )
- two versions: with overclock capability (OC) and normal (N)
- File manager ES File Explorer added (if problems with root explorer options, just reinstall manager!)
- updated Go Launcher EX (screenshots are attached, ICS theme and transparent skin for widgets applied)
You flash it with CWM or RZ recovery. BUT FIRST DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
WIPE DATA AND CACHE IS NEEDED! Than you can restore apps with Titanium Backup or other similar app.
WARNING!!! If u noticed any strange behavior like, wifi not working (most common one), than I recommend factory reset (or even wipe and new flash), and manually install your apps (that means straight from market). I must say I like to use google's backup system, so when I flash new rom, and put in my google account, I just connect to wifi, and all the apps I had before are just downloaded and installed again automaticly.
If you are having problems with google account when logging to market, just go to aplications and Clear Market cache, and reboot phone.
This is NON OC version, cause OC kernel is not very stable, a lot of users having problems with it, so I rather stick to this one.
ADVICE If you want to use V& supercharger script, it is better to remove RAM manager. I don't know if script works with this rom, there were reported some problems with first version. I am not responsible for script not working.
Use overclocking at your own risk, I won't be responsible for bricking your device, blah blah
This rom wouldn't be here if there weren't this nice people:
KezraPlane, thanks for great rom you have provided us, and all the hard work he put into developing it!
chris555, thanks for your ICS theme port, that gave this rom the name and the look !
Juwe11, thakks for the great app Called RAM Manager, I've added a free version here!
cowithgun for his dedication on developing such good kernels!
and all the other members of this community, that are willing to sacrifice their time, for developing or testing new roms!
If I've didn't gave enough people the credit, please remind me, and I will gladly add every single one !
I didn't add any special scripts, cause it is not recommended using scripts with RAM Manager.
For better battery life I recommend Battery Defender, it is easy to set up and you won't even notice that you are using it.
Ok now try it, and tell me how it works!
IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 2.0 TO 2.1 YOU CAN ONLY WIPE CACHE.
DOWNLOAD 2.1
DOWNLOAD 2.1 OC
Removed Samsung apps can be find HERE or HERE.
Please don't quote this whole post! It uses to much space in thread. Thanks for understanding!

It is suitable with V6 script, but then it is better for you to uninstall RAM Manager. I personally recommend to use RAM manager, cause it is working, and it is simple to use .

Currently, i'm using the Kezra V3 with the V6 script. If i wanna use this ROM, should i wipe data and Dalvik cache? What about the V6 script that i have installed before, do i need to uninstall the V6 script before flashing this ROM? Most importantly, do you know how to un-supercharge the script?

Run the V6 in script manager same way how you set it up. And there is an option to unsupercharge the phone go through the list and you'll be done. But all the data from the supercharger is still saved on the phone/ sdcard in case you want to supercharge again. But wont effect this rom or any rom infact

If you "unsupercharge" it, then no data from the script should left in rom. Since you have to put the script on memory card, and then run it with Script Manager. What is going on when you run the script with Script manager is that some values are being changed in system files, and maybe some lines are added. When you undo this, only this stuff is changed. Than you can also delete she supercharger script from your memory card, if you won't use it any more.
Good luck !

Here you should try downloading this keyboard. Then use some file explorer that has root access (like ES File Manager), go to /system/app and search for AxT9IME.apk, delete it and, then copy downloaded file on this location. Agter that just reboot your phone, and try it. I hope this one will work, it does on my phone . Tell me how it goes!

[MOD] **EZ InitD for the S3 - And Busybox**

This will enable the loading of scripts in /system/etc/init.d without editing the boot.img.
This will work for ALL dual core S3 variants.
There are two versions, one with my ondemand profile and one without. The one that has CPUProfile has it, this is a script that runs at boot setting the ondemand options to favor battery without sacrificing performance. Most user saw a GREAT increase in battery life especially when idle. See the link in my sig to use the full cpu editor. (works on the S3 with this mod)
To add init.d manually to your own rom just open /system/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh and add this line to the end of the file:
Code:
/system/etc/init.d/*
This mod also installs busybox which enables alot of tools native to busybox see here for busybox usage.
To install flash in recovery.
Download:
Add init.d ONLY:
EZ_Init.d ONLY
Add init.d and CPUProfile Script:
EZ_Init.d AND CPUProfile
So does this tweak the onDemand governor? Is it safe to use with setCPU? Is it safe with the Sammy kernel?
Nevermind...found the Sammy kernel thread under "original development"
good work man nice another great addition to the gs3
Works as advertised, thanks for this!

Can we see some proof or evidence from users that this does indeed give significantly better battery usage when idling without impacting performance?

smokin OP and Dev of this mod.
I copied the CPU Sleeper script (Eugene373) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745517 and the Ram Manager script (Juwe11) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745517 into the flashable you made...can I share it if I give you props?:fingers-crossed:
I flashed this in CWM and found the init.d folder with scripts installed.
When I opened the 99test script, I noted that a test file with "done" should have been created in data/local/tmp. I could not find this file anywhere.
Am I looking in the wrong place or am I correct in assuming that init.d functionality is not working?

Please note this will fail if any of the Busybox symlinks are not complete!

Not sure as this belongs here or not, but I think this is the best place for it. This will allow you to add init.d to your phone without CWM. I got it working for me, so I hope everyone else will have the same fortune.
Requirements:
1.Root
2.Fully installed Busybox
3. Windows computer
Instructiions:
Download and run runme.bat

I am not sure it works.
1. the 06dalvik script did not create /cache/dalvik-cache folder.
2. the 99test did not create any file in /data/local/tmp.
does our kernel support init.d?

Mine is working, if you got some errors during the load process, I need to know.
If thing to do is check your symlinks and make sure that they are all there for busybox.
Use this to check your symlinks:https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInN0ZXJpY3Nvbi5idXN5Ym94Il0.
If any one is missing, it could stop the install process.
On the thing about our kernel supporting init.d, the answer is not currently and that is why we have to use this program. It will allow compatibility with our kernel to have init.d.
The busbox is ok.
I can run it rom my terminal on the phone as well as adb shell.
There were no errors during installation.
Edit:
I ran the script again today.
The init.d works. the 99test did create a file in /data/local/tmp.
INIT.D installed. Excellent! Now to look up some tweaks. You da man Popfan.

Thanks for the feedback. I was starting to wonder if anyone knew what this can do for their phone.
Here is another good site:

A lot of good stuff. I am going to see if I can get the tweaks to run at 100%, here in a few days. I loved it when I ran this on my cappy.

Running it at 50% is pretty good also. The script will at least zipalign, check for proper permissions on all apps, clean the delvik-cache, and reorganize the task manager priorities and also your ram manager settings. You should try the battery calibration script that is there also, it is really nice.

I'm going to read it through a couple times then give it a go. Did you use script manager or just terminal?

Script manager is easiest. Don't forget to use as root for all those scripts.
I did forget that it will also allow for a powershift, so you can change your settings on the fly if you need more multitasking capabilities than power savings or more power.
If you get v6 working please post any differences you notice. esp launcher re-draws. <that to me is one of the most annoying things ever. and would love to know that there is something that can be done about it

It looks like it is going to be a little tricky, but at 50% I can tell the Xperia Launcher is working better and almost never see any lag. With Nova Launcher, it just flies.
That's awesome news. What exactly do you mean by 50%... The CPU? Or what?

It reads like there are extra manual steps to get ICS fully super charged.
Sent from Rooted LT28at with ICS.
It does not look like the latest CWM that I put will be compatible with the extra mods, after I put the cwm together and flashed it bricked my phone. I have put my phone back to where it was before the modifications for the ICS supercharger (the service.jar and service.odex modded part) and works just fine without the additional mods, but I don't think I am going to try to mod the phone again (wife will get mad at me if I hard brick my phone).

[MOD][5/10/13] Add init.d support to your ROOTED S4

First off, I did not come up with this idea but I adapted it from smokin1337 and his thread: [MOD] EZ InitD - init.d the EZ way !!
How to make it work...
Take file in the attached zip and use your favorite root explorer and paste it in /system/etc/ overwriting the file that is there.
Set permissions of the file to be rwx, rx, rx
Create an init.d folder inside of /system/etc and set permisions to rwx, rx, rx
Add init.d scripts and make sure they are also set to rwx, rx, rx.
Reboot and enjoy your init.d scripts!
All credits to smokin1337 for the mod, I just added the line to our postboot.sh.
I tested it and it works as it should :good:
Enjoy!
-Scott
EDIT: Changed the permissions of the scripts to 755 from 777 to guard against possible malware. Info courtesy of jcase.
Just a note, I use ES File Explorer to do this but any root level explorer should work. I just use ES because I am familiar with it.
Some init.d scripts can rely upon the use of BusyBox so install that from the market.
Sorry for the stupid question but what does this actually do.
What can I get out of it if I install it?

Good question... If you have to ask it then this is not something for you. Haha, Just kidding... But seriously..
Basically init.d scripts are scripts that run when the phone boots up. You can make them do various things like setting system level tweaks, cleaning and purgin databases, and on and on and on...
In the ROMS I build I use an init.d script that remounts the file system more efficiently (in theory anyways) but there are other uses for init.d scripts.
A real popular one is called "V6 Supercharger" Its a collection of scripts that are designed to really tweak out the operating system for the supreme performance (once again, debatable).
There are other things that could be done... If your familiar with old school computing and you know autoexec.bat this is basically that for Android.

Yeah, this mod is not your ordinary mod. Most people will never use this type of mod.... Or they do use it in the custom ROM they use and never even know about what it does.
Try using 755 instead of 777, otherwise you are opening yourself up to potential problems.

Right, exactly.
You can peruse the forums and find your favorite "battery saving" and "super charger" scripts.
Gotcha thanks .

I've discovered the same thing you achieve here before, when i was trying to create a swap internal SD for the external, but unfortunately it didn't work, i used your rom on my old Note 2, it was amazing hope to see CleanROM for this one. Thanks for publishing this.

brother here i tell you that you may find scripts that speed up phone but for battery saving it's a big no according to me
to conserve battery apply steps like
1 uncheck background data when not in use
2 don't use mobile data when you don't want internet
3 clear unwanted apps that run in background
good luck hope i helped you:good::good:
