[Q] up the creek - broken paddle! - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I've had an Inc-2 since October, rooted since new, no problems until now.
Screwed-up the phone somehow today - honestly can't remember "exactly" what I did to cause this, I was flashing a new ROM downloaded through ClockworkMod. I unrooted the phone hoping to receive the latest OTA update (dumb, I know).
Some (possibly) relevant info:
1) have a backup made through ClockworkMod just a few days ago
2) have access to my wife's totally stock (but OTA updated) Inc-2
3) have the "RUU_Vivo_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.34.605.4_Radio_0.99.01.0225_2_NV_VZW1.92_release_182876_signed.exe" downloaded from Verizon in November.
Here's what the phone "reads" when powered on:

I would just run the GB RUU again first.

Thanks for the quick help!
Tried that, and got a message "battery less than 30%"...
I guess that's a good thing, right? Does it mean RUU "sees" the phone?
-BowRat

I would give this a shot. It SHOULD remove the security warning, if I understand correctly.

Let us know how it works out.

The RUU***.exe from Verizon seemed to work to a point, then I received:
ERROR 140: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR
I'll try the RUU mentioned above - could it be that the ClockworkMod recovery needs to be overwritten with "stock", and is it possible with S-ON?
Thank you!

MORE INFO
The RUU indicates:

Can I undo the ClockworkMod bootloader to stock without having S-Off? If so, help in the right direction is appreciated.

Fc127 - it worked!!!
Thanks to both of you for your help and support. Back in business and saved me some big $$$ for a replacement.

Glad you got it going. You are now back in stock?
Sent from my DInc2

Completely back to stock. Actually re-rooted and kept having issues with updating SU (couldn't find the directory or something like that).
So...ran stock update, loaded ADW Launcher EX and some Beautiful Widgets while I wait for the official Ice Cream truck to arrive.
Thanks again for the help...much appreciated.

[Q] Help please.. stuck(bootloop) after trying to unroot!!

So i've been rooted for almost a month now and I tried to unroot today to take the phone to sprint for technical difficulties and now I'm stuck in bootloop.
I was in 2.1. Loaded a custom rom that had Froyo 2.2, VirusRom something..
This is what I did:
I downloaded:
RUU_Supersonic_1.47.651.1_Radio_2.05.00.06.10_release_C
L195459.exe...
And used HTC Sync to run this. At the end I got a bootloader 140 error saying that it could not update my phone.
Then when it restarted it was bootlooping. I tried to flash the custom ROM back on it but it didn't do anything. Still bootlooping. I do not have a nand backup (unfortunately) and I think I have lost root, for the sheer fact that when I load into recover It does not give me the option to Update when it finds PC36.IMG
This is what My Bootloader screen looks like:

Am I bricked or is there some sort of solution to this..?? Someone please help!!
I would think it's because your phone has Froyo but are running a 2.1 RUU. The RUU won't let you downgrade. Try finding a 2.2 RUU and running that.
If I do find a 2.2 RUU.. How will I run it, I can't access my phone's software. I'm limited to recovery and bootloader..
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can run the RUU when your phone is in the bootloader. Or you could find a stock froyo PC36IMG, put it on the root of your SD and run it from from the bootloader.
I'd bet my middle testicle that you're not bricked.
Here is the stock 2.2 RUU. Try running it, let me know what happens.
Yes thanks so much worked wonders.!! I had to use Fastboot and Plug in my USB for it to work right.
By the way, where do I go from here.. I'm still trying to unroot so i can factory reset (out the box)..
If that worked and you're S-ON (which you said you were in the OP), then you are officially unrooted and back to stock 2.2.

[Q] Help Required after system update

Hi
My phone has never been rooted as I only wanted a basic smartphone. The HTC Desire HD prompted for a system update. I ran this up date whilst the phone was connected to the charger just in case it ran out of battery.
Through the installation it then came up with a red triangle and an exclamation mark.
I tried a factory reset but that has not allowed it to boot back up.
Is there any way I can repair this with out having to go to a service center as they want to charge me because the phone is just over 12 months old.
What exactly did you do after downloading the update and what was your battery at when you did that?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD with Beats Audio using XDA App
Battery was at about 75%.
After downloading the update it asked me if I wanted to install it so I said yes.
It then looked like it was installing then just came up with the red triangle and !
Take the battery out for about 10 seconds, put it back in and boot into hboot by holding down vol down + power. Write what it says there and also write what Android version you were on before trying OTA.

While in that menu, select factory reset and let it do its thing. If it doesn't work you can try flashing a stock RUU. If you were trying to upgrade to 2.3.5 I think it's safe to say you were on 2.3.3 before, so don't flash a froyo RUU.

Yeah it looks like you had fake s-off to start with, that ship s-off means you probably used the HTC official unlocked bootloader method to root, not to kick you when your down, nut that is a pisspoor way to root as you will often run into troubles similar to this, you should look into relocking the bootloader and obtaining true s-off with an engineering SPL. Just hope that when you flashed that pc10img that it didn't begin to work or you may be in a world of trouble.
Never flash a pc10img to your phone unless you are sure of what you are flashing, this is an easy way to cause a brick.
And looking at the thread now you say you are now s-on? If this is true you might be there already, can you confirm what it says on your bootloader screen like you did in your first post, if things have changed you may be on bad shape, but you may fix still be able to fix this. If it did change from your first post also confirm if you still have a custom recovery or bootable os, if you do you may still be OK, just make sure you know the next steps so you don't further mess things up, again not trying to be rude but if you don't want a brick stop messing with things until someone comes back here to help

[Q] Back to Stock ROM - available from any working DHD?

Hi,
I am in trouble. C.a. 6 months ago my DHD had to go to service because of headphone icon still standing at the taskbar and it was not possible to talk with anybody. After this i received new motherboard. Before that i had fully unlocked phone (root, S-OFF), but when i get it back from service, there was newest firmware installed, and of course s-on, no root. I rooted phone somehow, but s-on stayed still. And I can flash custom roms, but everytime I am doing this, I have to flash boot.img. Is it possible to turn S-ON to S-OFF? I tried many ways (AAHK, gold card + PD98IMG), downgrade to older version. Nothing was successful. The problem is, I think, that when any stock rom i am trying to flash with RUU, after rebooting to fastboot phone is locked on screen with HTC logo on black background. There is no progress bar of flashing, no screen with bootloader. What can I do to flash stock rom, can You help me?
On my bootloader screen already looks like this:

Do you mean with HTCDev page? I tried this, but in step 14(i think) when the screen from android should appear to commit bootloader unlock operation, then happens nothing - the answer in command line window is ok - suitable to one in tutorial on HTCDev, but on the phone I can't see any changes. Well.. AAHK needs to install downgrade version and then there is the same problem like with RUU - phone cannot flash this version.

[Q] Phone Stuck on HBOOT/FASTBOOT Menu

I recently tried going back to stock and followed the instructions in a video. This is the worst mistake I could have ever made.

No matter what I try to do, I can't get past this menu.
WHAT I DID
Plugged phone into computer, typed the command, "fastboot oem lock". I haven't done anything else, but I can't get it unlocked no matter what I try. If I try to fastboot a rom it won't allow me
. I've tried two different RUU's to get back to stock, but everytime it says
Code:
Main Version is older!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot
My phone was previously rooted to this, I still have Paranoid Android and Clockwork on it, I just can't access them. I can't access anything but the HBOOT/FASTBOOT menu. I've been trying for days to fix this, but I'm really at a standstill. I have no idea how I can fix this and I just want to use my phone again. Can someone please try to help me :crying:
search for the link for a stock ruu. follow the instructions for installing it. I think you'll end up pulling the boot image from the stock ruu, renaming it pg32img.zip and putting it on your sd card in the main area not a folder. let the boot loader pick it up and you're back in business.
You locked it, so it isnt going to boot anything not signed by HTC. Try running "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock it again. If that works, you should be able to boot whatever you have installed. Flashing an RUU wont work, unless you can find one for the 6.xx update, the bootloader wont let you flash anything with a lower main version than your current one, which can only be 6.xx because of your radio version.

I've tried fastbook oem unlock a bunch of times. It says it worked on my computer but the phone will still say relocked. And alright, at least you narrowed down what version I have to look for.
EDIT:
I've tried using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27463473
All it does is load the PG32IMG.zip, checks it, then goes back to the HBOOT screen.
Did you get the HTC token again that you used to unlock the first time? If not, not go back into htcdev.com and follow all of directions. After you have it all in fastboot type in
Fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin

yes I tried that I even tried factory reset and all it comes up with is a phone and a red triangle with a exclamation point and then it goes back to the the boot menu what should I do...Is there any files I can download to make it start up again
I have the same problem, its Locked with S-on, stuck in the bootloader, and my pc won't recognize it when its plugged in, only "unknown device". But when plugged in, it does say "fastboot usb" or "hboot usb plug", so it does recognize when its plugged in. I've tried 2 RUU signed and flashed files, the phone reads it but just goes back to hboot. Any ideas?
