rumor confirmed! July 22. but wait, theres more. T-Mobile is getting Visual Voicemail too! check out TmoNews.com for the details. .
I am as happy as a pig in sh** or a fat guy at krispy kreme.
July 22nd. That's a long time to wait. Nokia n97 is due to be released on June 22nd I think.
TP2 beats N97 to the dust man! No competition. (a little off topic, sorry)
1. WM6.5 (when its ready) vs Symbian S60
2. 528MHz vs 434MHz CPU
3. 288MB vs 128MB RAM
4. 800x480 vs 640x360 Screen Res
5. 5 rows of keys vs 3 rows
6. TF3D and people-centric interface vs Nokia's home screen
The only plus for the N97 is it's internal memory and it's 3.5mm jack.
And even that, I will go for the Omnia i8910 HD instead.
Back to the topic, the TP2 will be released in 5 June. Only a few weeks to go. So I will wait.

Sadly, that's T-Mobile USA release date (but I'm sure it'll be close to the UK date also). Hey, at least you guys are getting the n97! We get nothing but Nokia dumbphones here in the US....

Expansys Release dates:
TP2 5 June
N97 23 June
Omnia i8910 25 June
So most of the sexy phones are out in June or July
I know windows mobile is a much more versatile platform than s60. The nokia also has better video performance than the touch pro2. I might get both, one of which through t-mobile upgrade.
when will it be released for sprint or a cdma release?
im not so much interested in the official US release date, but rather how soon i can get an unlocked version.

Expansys sells unlocked phones.
long as it will work here in the states (and maybe 3g, but not necessary) Ill get one.
I am sure it will work for USA but you won't able to use 3G as US's 3G is on a different frequency. But you are able to use GSM and EDGE. But if you can wait, TP2 should be in USA in Q3.
eh.. 3g isnt a big deal, ill mostly be using WiFi anyway. Long as it will make calls and send txt & sms messages ill be fine. My phone is one the way out really. The handset speaker doesn't work, so only way i can hear calls is using the speaker phone or a headset, which makes it pretty inconvenient to take calls or make quick calls. So im kinda wanting to replace it asap.

What frequency is US 3g on?
according to a member here, they say "ATT's 3G is 850mhz/1900mhz (up/down)"
and according to HTC
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
*
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Soo.. would this not cover it? They are just frequency's, i wouldn't think it would be different between the US and Europe. Unless its like the Metric system

The answer is in the frequency. You have misread the details.
The correct network frequency is:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 2100
So yes, you are able to use it through 2G networks but not 3G.
The phone only accepts 2100MHz 3G networks but N. America uses 1900MHz.
Europe / Netherlands
Was the release date for Europe Jun 22?
And Does anyone know When it will be released in the Netherlands?

Not exactly correct. AT&T 3G provide 850 and/or 1900 depends on coverage, and you phone need either one (same band for up and down) to have 3G.
If I read correctly somewhere, Tmobile USA provide 1700 and 2100, and your phone MUST support BOTH (one for up, on for down) to have 3G

I see that the Nokia Lumia 2520 (Verizon edition) operates on the 7 LTE band frequency. As I am a bit unfamiliar with Verizon's LTE network, I know that my local mobile operators (GSM) in Norway run at the same LTE frequency. My question is this: Will the North American Lumia 2520 Verizon edition, work with a European GSM operator on the same LTE frequency? Namely 7.
I would also be very much interested in this.
BTW, where can I find out which bands the tablet is using? Thanks
Hi all,
Had to pick up a Desire eye without having done much research (my Sony Z3 died while travelling).
My Desire eye was bought from Taipei airport, and is marked as a M910x. It lists the lte bands supported as 700, 900 and 1800.
Based on GSMarena and other sources, it seems to suggest more support than what the box does.
So does anyone know with certainty whether:
1. My specific phone only has those 3 bands (strange)
2. Region specific branding, but has more bands.

For what its worth, over the weekend I was in Manila, Philippines, and connected to Smart LTE, which, based on my previous experience, should mainly be 2100mhz LTE, and my phone appeared to connect just fine. So it appears it may have more band support than the box suggests.
For anyone who may be following this thread, the Taiwanese page for the HTC desire eye reports the same bands as GSMarena:
4G LTE:
FDD - band 1( 2100MHz) , band 3 (1800MHz) , band 7 (2600 MHz), band 8 (900MHz), band 28 (700MHz)頻段
TDD - band 38 (2600 MHz),band 39(1900MHz), band 40 (2300 MHz),band 41(2600MHz) 頻段
Not sure why its listed differently on the box.
I decided to call HTC's Taiwanese customer service hotline this afternoon.
It took the girl a few minutes to get the details, but her official response is that the bands listed on their official website is correct, and that the box is only stating the LTE bands that the Taiwanese networks will be launching shortly. i.e. domestic market labelling

Edit: HTC China has significantly increased the price of m9 Chinese international edition from approximately $640 to about $705. This makes the Chinese edition m9 not so attractive compared with the US unlocked one.
BTW: the Chinese international edition is usually the same as unlocked versions worldwide. I say so because the international edition is completely compatible with China Unicom, which carries out the same bands as AT&T, and further more, although Chinese edition m8 just contains 16GB internal storage, it could run any international ROMs after being unlocked bootloader.
I am curious if its hardware is completely the same as the American unlocked edition. If so, it will be worth to have a try, especially considering the price which is just ¥3999. The price approximately equals $640 and of course, it has included consumption tax already (Variant taxes of goods are usually not listed separately in China ). Additionally, HTC China also promises that all the customers who have purchased mobile phones of m9 series (m9 and m9+), will be granted HTC Advantage service, as which has been applied in the U.S since last year.
However, the advertisement page also says that the potential customers have to enroll/pre-order firstly during 13th to 20th this month, and then seize the chance to make purchases on 20 March eventually. It is still uncertain that whether the promotion will be held like the mode of Xiaomi, which is another Chinese local brand and has been well-known for "Hunger Marketing" as well.
By any means, I'd like to keep an eye on it.
No the hardware will be different than. Due to mainly the cell frequency that are used. I also heard the chip will be a different chip like the other m9 they released there.
Could be wrong. Even known to happen a time or two.

Well, the China Unicom version should be the same at the AT&T one. Actually I'm using AT&T m8 in China and it works pretty well along with China Unicom.

Thanks for your detailed explanation, but I figure the "international" one might be the same as the unlocked one in the US. If a mobile phone manufacture says it will release an international edition mobile phone, it usually means the bands China Mobile will not be entirely supported. Fortunately, I'm a China Unicom user and also going to travel abroad later, so whether it is compatible with China Mobile is not really my concern.
Still love my Z3 but MM OTA update fried the wifi&bt within a week. (Bad Sony. Bad.) So OP3 I'm ready for you.
I'm going to order a USA version and have my friend ship it to tokyo.
question1- Is there a better way to get one? After all, it's originating in China...
question2- Is USA version the way to go? The only info I have to rely on is the result from http://willmyphonework.net :
OnePlus 3 North America Model + Japan + Japan Travel SIM (data only)

3G Network: 2100MHz

FYI, oneplus chat support referred me to willmyphonework.net. i ordered the north american version to a usa address. its getting shipped to me in tokyo for $26 USPS (6-10 days).
I bought the European model and will have a chance to test in Japan when I get back in September. Will be flying back to Europe for holidays.
As long as your phone supports the 2100Mhz (B1) band it should work (as far as I can tell, I sure hope so otherwise my oneplus would be useless hehe). Coverage in the country side and mountains might be poor but my Ymobile pocket wifi always had crap reception in the mountains anyway so no big change there hehe.
Edit: I believe the USA is a bit special when it comes to the frequencies used. Unless you are from the USA you might be better off when the European model as that seems to have better global support.
North America version ordered from and shipped to USA, then forwarded by post ($26, 10 days) works fine with data sim. I don't have a voice sim here in Tokyo to try.
