Well if you look at the EXIF data of the original image, you will notice that it is made with Microsoft Paint...

I think the new logo is not bad, but yes the old one was a classic!

I'm guilty of this as well, but maybe it's just not wanting change? Something as iconic or recognizable should be kept the same imo. Take Target for instance, a simple unmistakable logo. I understand updating and modernizing, but I don't have to like it, LOL.

if the angle and perspective doesn't look 'off' to you, look at a window. on a wall.
no wait, DONT. just enjoy the new logo and don't ruin it for yourself.
I am not fan of this blue color but read somewhere it can be changed. Apart from it, it goes well with Merto UI and finally its a Window and not a flag

That would be hilarious, except didn't Apple finally give in on copy/paste? And rumor has it, multitasking might be on the way in.
I think the UI would look more at home on a sidekick given what's actually underneath. MS isn't in the smartphone business anymore.

Maybe the UI is better but it lacks all the apps so no advantage over iPhone, shich is a piece of crap and so is WP7S.

Hi all, just came across a variety of images showing the below theme for WP7, just wondering if anyone knows of it? Should we be expecting this kind of theme customisation with the update(s)? Is this a photoshop job? Looks very Manilla-ish but much better than the solid colour chioces available atm.

doesnt seems real to me. But Ms said, they want to give HTC deeper access to the OS...so I do think something like this will come some day
As far as i understand, those dead tiles, uses images, over simple canvas colored with ancient color. If HTC provides non-transparent image, it will be used, to create such an effect. That doesn't even impress me. If MS will give control to change main page of the phone, iPhone will look like a brick.
It's a fake image.
I think that's a HTC HD2 with Fireslave's WP7 Throttlelauncher theme with one of the modifications that's been created for it.
Also, look at the buttons. All current WP7 phones have capacitive buttons, whereas they are hardware ones.

yes, unfortunately, this WP7 theme was a theme dreamt up by a Fanboy. i think it was what he was hoping the HD3/7 would look like. it was/is so good that some companies thought it was for real!
ahh well that's a shame. Cheers for clearing this up then. A lot of companies (particular car kit ones) are using this image, need to put some copyright on that picture!

Doesn't look like metro to me. Looks like an ugly widget though.
You may notice that developers are free to use round corners on icons, semi transparent icons, widgets, and even triangles, circles, rectangles, hexes, and all imaginable shapes to display information there.
It very clearly is emulating the metro look. The sharp corners, etc.
Anyone disagreeing must be on Google's payroll or something. It's profoundly obvious what they're going for there.

Haha! I'm not sure how most of you react to this, i wasn't really planning to share it either. Just thought i'd fire up photoshop a bit since i enjoy doing that every once in a while. But I thought meh, it won't hurt.
This concept is far from done, for instance the battery icon, the text message menu and a few other things i'm personally still not satisfied with. I was even planning to design my own imagination of an app drawer. If i had the skill to implement this UI to a rom i'd probably spend a few days trying to hit the nail perfectly, but guess what? I have not the slightest clue of anything to do with a rom other then flashing.

Haha! The things over there are beautiful. As much as i like the things there, i find things like this need to be implemented into a rom to have the full feeling. When you click it, it just doesn't give the level of satisfactions without a proper animation. This, of course, is just my opinion.
I remember designing my own homescreen using the apps and what ever else methods they had over there, i loved the design itself but when clicking an icon it just fell so dull. It would open up regularly. If the icon would bounce off the screen or if the animations are tuned(implemented). I believe that would not only give a good design it would make it feel good too.
