[Q] Galaxy Nexus drivers windows 7 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My Gnex refuses to install drivers. (windows 7) i tried on my brothers computer and it works fine but it will not work on mine. Anyone know where to find some drivers that will work. Im currently failing hard on samsungs site.

Can you explain what's happening when you try to install the drivers? Do they install correctly without any errors?

No they dont. I plug it in and it fails to install everytime ive tried with different cables and this is my second gnex having the exact same problem.

Because the problem is your computer/OS/you, not Galaxy Nexus.
Try GNex Toolkit to install drivers. If even that fails i would suggest to get your computer repaired or use brothers
PS don't forget to disconnect your phone before installing drivers.

Hmmm i thought it would be an easy driver download fix.

See the link i gave you, there's another two options that doesn't involve installing GNex Toolbox:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875

+1 to GNex Toolbox; worked like a charm for me!

i had a problem with the usb drivers too using toolkit but following the manual install instructions worked for me. i had to go into system->device manager on my pc and install from there using the manual install instructions provided with the toolkit(option 1 and then option 3 using the toolkit). good luck.

i had problems with using the toolkit as well, so i downloaded the pdanet drivers and installed and that worked

This worked for me too. PDAnet installed drivers properly. Tried everything else didn't work.

I know this is a dumb question but I gotta ask. Did you right click the installer and choose "Run as Administrator?" Sometimes that's all it needs (even when your login has administrative privileges, you're still not Administrator.)

try this plug your phone in and make sure usb debugging is checked on the phone(settings->developer options) then on your pc go to control panel->system->device manager. when your phone is plugged in you should see android 1.0 or galaxy and right click and select update driver. if you see nothing here then try plugging the usb in a different port on the back of your pc. Then select browse device for driver, after that choose option "let me pick from a list of drivers" there you should see google or samsung as a option and select it. if that worked you should be good to go.

Ok tried every USB port, still nothing and this is the error message i get when i try to install through the device manager.

you got this error after doing the manual install and choose from a list of drivers and found google in that list?
if so then uninstall all samsung drivers, pdanet and drivers. then reinstall the samsung usb driver first then try the manual install again. make sure you have the phone plugged in and usb debugging enabled when doing the manual install in device manager.

I have exactly the same problem. Root, pushing files, everything works, except MTP. Any suggestions?

[Q] Pdanet won't install??

Has anyone had success installing and running pdanet? I can install it on my phone, but I cannot connect to install on my computer. Whenever I plug in the phone I get the MTP driver fail.
I've tried using Kies to install new drivers, I've tried uninstalling and deleting all USB drivers and then reinstalling through Windows Update all with no success. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit if that makes any difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or any other recommendations to working wired tethering apps that do not require root and/or work on ICS.
Use koush wired tether you download to phone

cant install latest driver

Downloaded the latest Acer driver, but windows 7 keeps saying their 2006 driver is the best available. I really believe that this is what is causing so many root/unlock/flash problems.
What is the solution?

Plug in your tablet, let windows load it up, then press the windows key and break, then go to hardware/ device manager (sorry its been awhile since I ran windows), and then select your tab, then uninstall the drivers. Unplug the tablet, reboot, once back into windows install the acer drivers with their installation application, THEN plug in the tablet again.

Found something that roots almost every android phone.

Awhile ago I went on the hunt to find software that would root my lg-l45c, weeks later I've found something that should root the majority of phones even Gingerbread 2.3.4! It's called unlock root. You can download it to your PC here: http://www.unlockroot.com/ after it's downloaded onyour PC you have to connect your phone to you PC with USB with USB debugging enabled. After you do that you launch the unlock root and press root. While it goes through the rooting process you maybe ask if you'd like to install driver, if it asks you this, you have to install your drivers. You install your drivers like this: Goto your phone's manufacturer website then goto the the part of the website that has the drivers, it should be somewhere in the support section. After your drivers are installer you may attempt to root your phone again using unlock root, after a few minutes pass it will be done and ask you if you'd like to reboot your phone now? Click yes. After the reboot your phone will be rooted atlast!
Solution to low space.
I'd also like to add that link2sd is great when you are rooted because you can move apps to SD that you couldn't b4 it saves a lot of space.

Cant unlock bootloader or root

i Cant unlock the bootloader or root..no matter what i use it just tells me waiting for device..i tried every driver for i9250 that i could find...anyone know what is going on?
You do have debugging ticked i presume or possibly your USB lead could be faulty!!
Another would be two drivers being incompatible so be sure to use just one with others disabled. I use naked drivers!!!

USB debugging is enabled...how do I disable driver on windows 8?...
Do u have links to any drivers?
Windows 8 requires you to disable some security to properly install the drivers. You have to go to settings and do a custom restart. I'm on my phone right now so can't get you a link. Just google windows 8 android driver install you should be able to get instructions.

File Transfer/ADB Not Working Since Android N Update

Ever since I updated to Android N, my computer has not been recognizing my phone as a Nexus 5X device. I believe that this definitely has to do with the phone because I have the drivers installed and other android devices that I have work properly.
Please help.
Did you install the device drivers via the 15 second adb tool?
I am having the same issue and have search and tried every thing I can find. The computer will see it and Nexus Root Tool can flash and control it, but it will not pop up on my computer for me to access the phone storage.
