Insomniac's Nightmare Series
Deep in the darkest recesses of JHutson456's mind lies the most horrific nightmare of all... A STOCK PHONE!!! RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!
This ROM is as simple and straight forward as it gets. This is what the MyTouch 4G was on 3 Nov 10. It's stock EVERYTHING! Hell, it's even the stock kernel! When I found this and built it (a really funny story as to how and why this happened) I started to really appreciate what all the devs out there do. I release this as a simple breakdown of the stock HTC Glacier builds with Root and Busybox. All three builds HTC has released for the Glacier are represented here. 1.1 is the MySense Android 2.2 build (think day one of release out of the box) 2.0 is the 2.2.1 update which came out just after the phone was released. 3.0 is the recent 2.3.4 update. I enjoy showing you guys my learning process and I hope you enjoy watching. There is lots more to come, but these early moments are meaningful to me and as such I share them with you.
Recommended Install Instructions
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Format /system

-minor build.prop edit (altered to display "Insomniac's Nightmare" in the Software Number)

NOTES:
This build was intentionally left as supremely stock as possible. I added root and busybox to it for full root capabilities. I deodexed it for any of the themers out there who wish to work with this. Beyond that, it truly is stock. Believe it or not, I see requests all the time for a stock ROM, so I share this with you now.

Can i ask why you do not use the official update of the gingerbread Tmobile? If you would do it will be a great rom. My dream would be GB stock with: supporting ext4, deoxed, root, busybox, multilanguage. The top choice would be to offer 2 roms: with and without sense. Thanks for your hard work.

Insomnia strikes again! Sorry about that, all fixed. When I put the link in I crossed the link (had the link name, which you were seeing) correct but the link target (hidden, but where the link actually goes) wrong.

If you downloaded before this post, you downloaded last weeks MIUI build, you can get the correct build now!

Haha yeah I figured that out after I downloaded and started to edit it and noticed the files weren't the same. Haha thanks for the swiftness. Insomnia is a very apt name.

The OP at ACSyndicate has been updated with Nightmare 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0.
Each is a stock build with very minor tweaks of the 3 MyTouch 4G builds. Android 2.2, Android 2.2.1, and the newest update 2.3.4. All rooted and with busybox.
Check them out! I'll update the op here tomorrow, I'm at work but wanted you guys to know

umm.. do you mean what would I tweak these into? Well... I was thinking have a parallel "Insomniac's Dream" series which would be hyped up, souped up versions. De-bloated and re-invigerated. but that's what I'm asking for, what is anyone interested in.

Simple is beautiful. And nothing is simpler (as far as sense) than a debloated stock ROM. Even if its as simple as moving all "bloatware" to the /data/apps folder to make it easy to pick what you want removed.

It's unique has a few resizing issues like on power widget, I am impressed with it so far though.

Don't forget to check the bugs. It will save a lot of time and cut back on useless posts.

Really liking this so far. Very fast and smooth. One thing I've noticed is the camera does not turn on. The screen goes dark then returns to the home screen. Nice UI too.

Again read the bug report. It clearly says something about camera and WiFi. Here's a fix for now for small mms. WIPE DATA ONLY, don't do cache or dalvik then flash fix. You will have to set up Rom again. You will lose your bootanimation. I suggest copying it to your sdcard using root explorer that way you can put it back.

The idea is nice, but there are shortcomings. WiFi, Camera.. etc. Of course, this beta version..More coming soon

Do you know how long it would be before cam an WiFi is fix , this is an amazing ROM but that's the only downside. Good job on porting it over btw.

Doesn't mixing both Vitruous and RCMix Tweaks makes any problems? After I installed RCmix tweaks to VA, my system slowed down and had some force close errors when using statusbar.

Last time I flashed your rom from desire HD thread, the haptic feedback was gone after a few clicks.
Anyone else experiencing this isuue??

Working smoothly, but camera does not work. I tried to flash Tiamat's ICS Kernel, which fixed the camera issue, but then it didn't connect to wifi. Please suggest a kernel to use to fix the camera issue. Thanks

the rom is fast and smooth. i was impresed when i press the tp the screen is wake too fast and i think is a kernel job. you did a good job with your kernel. the problem is that camera is not working with stock kernel and i am afraid if i change to virtuous/rcmix the speed will gone. about the problem with rcmix tweaks in virtuous rom: no problem to this rom, especially is working and the bounce overscroll effect,when wasnt working before.
if you can fix the camera and the vibration on buttons(home,menu,back,search) will be the best for me now sense 3.5 rom.(sry 4 my english)

The haptic feedback is working now. I don't remember what I did I think I flashed the amaze camera mod. This rom is not so different from affinity. Is affinity with rc mix tweaks. If you fix the haptic feedback and make camera working with your kernel will be very good. Good work btw.

Q&A​So what is INDIAN MADNESS
Its a script that i put together that tells the CPU governor how to behave.
Is this based off of Virtuous OC?
No, the reason Virtuous OC is in there is because its like an app to let me OC. It basically SetCPU in a more advanced form.
When I download the Aosp or Aokp version, why doesn't it flash?
Because busybox is located in a different place in your rom. This is why i go tell you to flash the sense version. There is actually no difference between versions, just that it checks for busybox in different locations.
I noticed a lot of Virtuous stuff in the zip. How much do you actually own
You see a lot of virtuous stuff because thats what i figured would be needed to make the daemon work. Anything that doesn't have the name virtuous on it, i own. The only exceptions are the OC setting, which i also own.

Im using it right now, unplugged my phone at 10 am been off an on with data, an a lot of music too, just hit 14%

So if im on xyz kernel and flash this, can I go back into built in OC app and change clock speeds or governors? Or is it recommended to leave things be once flashed? Also, will it add smartass governors to a stock sense/aosp kernel?

Yes, it over writes it. Also it sets the correct governor an clock speeds, so the mod works correctly

Is for Any HTC one V? or specific one? sorry but i know they don't want to or they don't have time to separate GSM and CDMA forum so is hard for us to know if we r using the right stuff in ours phones =[ :crying:

I dont know wich rom is better :/
Some says sense 3.6 is faster than the sense 4 rom on one v
And some says.sense 4.1 makes the phone slower than sense 4.0 ...
And has the camera a new ui ?

A Few Tips for Speed:
*Use maxwen oc/vdd kernel and set minimum to 368mhz
*reboot 3-4 after setting up
*make sure the swap script is running(v. Imp)
*Try to avoid 7 screens
*Force 2D GPU Rendering from Development Options in Settings(very very important)

I suck bad....I fix all the bugs so fast(thanks Lloir) that I have nothing to do now.....
