Thank you , but this update is for Samsung devices only

I guess I misread that part about the Samsung, I though ti was saying it was already available for Samsung devices, and thought that it just hadnt been released for our devices. So in a nutshell DO NOT try to flash this file?

[ROM] Roto KA1 [Deprecated: Use Roto-JME instead]

It was fun while it lasted, but I think we can safely skip KA1. I'll leave everything here for those that want to play, but I'm going back to Roto-JME and crank out a new release of that.
Here are the pre-packaged KA1 firmwares, pre-rooted.
I am recommending that you flash CF-Root-Tab-KA1 to get ClockWorkMod 3.0 if you do not have a protected bootloader.
Use Roto-KA1-Full.zip if you are coming from any firmware other than Roto-JME.
Use Roto-KA1-Upgrade.zip if your current firmware is Roto-JME.
Use P1_add_hidden.pit if you're not coming from Roto-JME.
I have made the following filesystem changes so far:
Deleted Gmail.apk, Maps.apk and install_flash_player.apk to free up space for rooting.
Added AppWidgetPicker-1.2.1.apk
For those of you with protected bootloaders, either package will work for you too.

I have not modified the filesystem on this initial release.

KA1
I'm still making packages, have no time to actually use it. Its smooth, especially the curtain.
JL1 modem. So far gallery hasn't went 100% cpu. Theres a new "Active Applications" widget showing how many apps are in the background, with some type of meter or display or something.

Not at the moment, I don't have a CDMA device.
Hi, Roto
I have flashed the original JM* series ROM so the bootloader already got protected. Is there any safe way to downgrade?
I went through the whole thread of downgrading JM6, but eventually was confused and didn't dare to try.
Any of your advise will be highly appreciated.
EDIT: I will give a try no matter how according to the guidance.

essentially what you get with this is a Clockwork Recovery, so we can flash future roms instead of using Odin.....am i right on stating this?

No, you get that by installing CF-Root.

oh, so then KA1 is the follow up to JME?
Thank`s Roto
but update fails from JME v2
The Setting`s for a full flash ?
Pit yes - no
Repart yes - no ??
Sry for my English........
Arguments for upgrading?
Excuse me, but isn't KA1 an Asian ROM?
What are the arguments for upgrading from Roto-JME, if you're an European SGT user?
Thx!
Just flashed Roto-KA1-Upgrade and CF-Root-Tab-KA1 over JME(non-protected bootloader), everything seems excellent so far, very smooth moving through apps and menus, no problems with screen auto-dim, even the Readers Hub is updating properly(hasn't updated properly for me through the JMx roms).
Edit:
Market just updated properly.
Swype v2.4.44.10881 is full-screen for those who were wondering.
Thanks rotohammer and chainfire for all your work on these releases.
Cheers,
Rob

Asian and English. The Asians lost out on JME, so now its their turn. Would be nice to combine all the locales though.
Roto,
What about us fools that have signed PBL,SBL,zimage???
Do you have anything for us signed bootloader people? Or are we screwed?
Thanks for all the hard work!

Hello,
I have installed Chainfire3D and at the reboot for installation driver the firmware don't works. I flashed again the firmware with Odin and its returns ok, but to the boot the model name N7100 disappear.
Do you have any suggestions?

Yes you can update it...... But you will lose root.
I need to clear some thing for you, rooting does not give you access to download apps free from Google Play. So you should remember that also. I am saying this because you said so-

Oh and please don't post links to cracked apps or wares sites. Mods are very strict about this. If you are unhappy with stock ICS, just go to the development section and check out some custom ROMs. And please be patient - JB is coming in May.

For that, you have to flash a pre rooted rom using flash tool.... If you are planning on upgrading to ICS firmware, no need of flashing pre - rooted rom.. Every ICS firmware on Xperia S can be rooted easily (1 minute work).. So update you phone using PC companion or flashtool and then root it...

Root is completely different from jailbreak...
There is no jailbreak for Android...
In Android JB means 'Jelly Bean' aka android 4.1
