Howdy,
I have a marvelous, marvelous AT&T Note II. Happy with things as is, the reason I would want to root is to get rid of bloatware. I just wanted to hear from those who decided to root but for little things NOT to run a custom rom or anything.
For those that did root and nothing else -- did you notice a change in performance?
Please be gentle
I did for that same reason. But I run the att special edition clean rom.

What is the advantage of this rom? Do you get more toggle options than stock?
I rooted to remove bloat and use google wallet. It also allows me to use root explorer and TiBu. Other than that im stock and like it that way. I may switch ROMs down the road but im happy for now.

I'm not 100%. But it removes all of the bloatware and I think you can download an add on that as like 23 toggles.

I only rooted so I can easily tether occasionally (2-3 times a month).
My opinion is that you don't need root to debloat. U can disable the majority of unneeded apps via app mgr. works great.
I rooted for all of the above reasons plus because it's my device and I wanted it my way. There's no reason I can think of not to.

What bloat ware do you recommend to remove from stock?

I rooted my phone for customization, speed performance, and occasional tethering. I went back to stock today because I was having data issues so I want to see if I still have data issues with stock.
Rooting is the way to go by far.

I rooted to get rid of bloat ware, and allow any app to run in multi-view.

you can tether with app called "share internet" it works well. I tested with my AT&T Note 2 to my wifes AT&T iPhone 4S.

It's it free and does At&t charge for using it if you don't have it on your plan

I rooted only because of Six Axis Controller Bluetooth connectivity... Then muli-Window before the official release... Then root explorer for customizations... Then a bunch of other things lol root = domino effect
Using the Stock CleanROM ATT SE 1.0 to actually remove bloatware (not just to disable them), to make any app available to multi-window, tethering and you can add other little things like 23 toggle mods, theme different parts of the UI, call record, expandable pop-up browser...basically the ability to cuztomize whatever you want while keeping the base ROM stock.
I rooted so that i can restore my apps from my Galaxy s1 using Titanium Backup.
Other than that I'm on stock as well (using nova launcher).

Did you figure out if root was the cause of the data problems?
I rooted mine so that I could get multi Window on my Canadian note 2. Rogers is slow to update. No performance issues during the few days that it was rooted and didn't have a custom rom

Does anybody use the stock disable feature anymore...

initially i rooted strictly to get rid of the bloatware, and enable tethering, but then once i saw the roms with multi window support for any app (running jedi xp8 at the moment) i jumped ship and installed a custom recovery, and then the rom. also part of it had to do with not getting the 4.1.2 update. my bros note 2 got the 4.1.2 update notification for multiwindow as soon as he set it up, i didn't, and going to the software update thing showed nothing... so i decided to just go with a rom.
may end up switching to an aosp rom once 4.2 becomes stable enough.
I have a sprint galaxy tab 3 and I atempted to root the device the other night and obviously it did not work I do not have root access and now I can not do OTA updates because it says that my device has been modified. Also I have a constant notification that says preparing network yet I have full access to 4G and wifi. I have already dome the steps to get rid of this notification yet not of them worked and its slightly annoying with a check mark lingering up top. If anyone can help me either restore my tab to stock, complete the root or even get rid of this notification permanently that would be amazing thank you very much.

I have successfully rooted my SM-N900T Note 3 and have installed CM11/OnePlus One ROM and it's awesome. The problem I'm having is having a solid LTE connection. Before all of the rooting, my network was perfect. Now when I make a call, it throws my connection into "H" signal and it makes my call quality bad.
Any suggestions or fixes to this? Anyone is welcome.
P.S: I've tried manually setting up a T-Mobile APN and it's done nothing, so that's out of the question.

CyanogenMod doesn't support VoLTE yet. So when you place a call it drops to H...nothing you can do about it besides go back to stock rom.
Thank you for your info on it. I think there's a fix for it though. I have 3 updates for CM, but it won't let me update and tells me update has been aborted. I may have to manually install the update.

I have a note 3 and a oneplus one. The latest cm roms for the OPO, including the under development lollipop cm12, does not have VoLTE.
I figured. Lol. I'll just deal with it.

Hi,
You need to ask for help in the thread you downloaded the rom from.
Good luck!
Darth.. This has been a persistent problem that happens after every flash of a rom. I dunno what happened to my Bluetooth or WiFi but they never turn on. I even downloaded the same version of carbon ROM my friend had and his worked yet mine did not and I'm wondering why

I will have your thread moved to your device section so the experts who own your device can help.
If it were me, I'd flash stock 4.1.2 with Odin and see if its the same. If it is, sure could be a hardware issue.
Good luck!
Appreciate ya. That is a start. I can't use odin though because I do not have computer access at the moment. All solutions need to come from my phone

You may need to find a computer to use, or you could be out of luck until you try stock...
?
Has anybody been able to successfully install an Xtresolite rom for this phone? I've tried a few times but the radio never works (won't connect to sprint network).
My latest try was using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467 and using this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/development/kernel-unikernel-v5-t3166295
With this combination the touch screen works but the network doesn't.
Anybody have any success or suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm really surprised by how little activity there is in the Sprint S6 forums. I previously had an S3 and that forum was hopping! And still is!
