No, the arc does not support it. It only has 2.4GHz frequency band.
You may check the arc white paper to know basic things about the phone.

nice info. i have to upgrade the phone first and the router next.

Since a few days in can not connect to my 5GHz band WiFi anymore. Connection to 2,4 GHz band networks works fine.
I'm running Stock ICS 4.0.2 (rooted) with baseband XXKL1. Does anyone else have this issue? My router is a AVM FRITZ!Box 7390 but I don't thinks it is related to it because my both notebooks work properly with 5GHz.
may be a stupid question ,have you checked the phones wifi setting.
Which settings do you mean exactly? Frequency ist set to auto and when I scan for networks the 5GHz WiFi shows up but I can't connect.
would it be the baseband that you flashed affected it.

Hello,
I seem to be having an issue with connecting to my 802.11ac router (Apple's Time Capsule). In "Automatic" mode, it connects to my SSID via 2.4GHz only. When I go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced and choose Wi-Fi Frequency band as 5Ghz it finds 0 networks in the area.
FYI - I'm on 3.1.3 OxygenOS.
Is anyone experiencing similar issues?
Best,
Mash
Edit: To be clear, I have several devices including my laptop that are connected to the 5Ghz band. I've also used a WiFi scanner in my old S6 Edge to verify that there are SSIDs broadcasting in the 5Ghz band.
I use 5 GHz network at home and it works fine with my op3.
Wysłane ze zmywarki
using 5Ghz on Fritzbox, i also use diffrent ssid names for 2,4 and 5ghz and also different passwords
Thanks guys. Are both of you on 3.1.3? I'm trying to isolate the issue here...

Got a 3TB time capsule here. OOS 3.1.3 - on automatic, it only connects to 2G despite having full 5G signal, however if i switch it to 5G only, it finds both main and guest networks in that band and connects fine Try re-flashing stock rom
Thanks - I'll try and do a nandroid backup and reflash to see if that fixes the issue.

3.1.3 stock, not rooted
Check what frequency and channel width your 5ghz band is set to, one time I changed my 2.4ghz and my ps4 couldn't detect it til I changed back.
Just tried 5Ghz without issue using channel widths 20Mhz, 40Mhz, and 80Mhz.

Thanks guys. I wonder if I've got a lemon.
I've just reflashed 3.1.3 and even then can't find or detect ANY 5GHz SSIDs. This is so frustrating.
I guess a call to support is the way forward.

Check if you are able to connect to a different 5GHz Network. It _might_ be an issue with the router itself.
Mine OP3 connects to 2.4 and 5 without any problems (TP-Link Archer C7).

Try going into advanced wifi settings and setting your network mode to 5ghz only. Inconvenient but will do the job.

Anyone else have SUPER slow WiFi speeds when it comes to downloading? I know this phone only supports 2.5ghz WiFi but it really shouldn't be this slow. My download speeds are like 4mb/s. Keep in mind that I'm using the Huawei Mate SE but I'm on the Indian Honor 7x stock ROM. I'm not sure if that makes a difference since the wifi antenna is a hardware thing.

Try turning Bluetooth off if you have it on. I read that Bluetooth and wifi use the same antenna in the 7x, and that can cause wifi to be slow if Bluetooth is on.

Change your router 2.4 channel width auto or 20/40 MHz to 20 MHz only. That has improved the WiFi speed on my wife’s 7x.

I noticed this on my Mate SE too...I do use Bluetooth for my Huawei Watch, so I have to leave it on. One thing you can try that may or may not make a difference is turning off Bluetooth scanning. Seemed to fix my Moto G5s with the same issue, but not so much for my Mate SE

Thing is, I use Bluetooth for my smartwatch :/ I'll try xdabory's method when I get home.

I use Bluetooth for my Pebble watch. Do you mean turning off scanning specifically or Bluetooth as a whole?
EDIT: I found the Bluetooth scanning toggle and switched it off. I'll see if that changes anything when I get home

Hi everyone,
Having a weird problem on my 5500 series Philips (QM512E, version 000.007.070.000)
Whenever it’s woken up from standby, the wifi connection is lost. The only way to fix this seems a reboot.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thank you!

Wifi is currently on channel 11. There is already someone in my neighbourhood using channel 1.
Anyway, I set up manual IP settings and every time I check the network status, it shows me that it's connected, but actually there is no internet connection.
As soon as I reboot, it works again.
I think this is rather a bug, but don't know how to collect the logs.
Hi again,
Added a new router to my network (TP-Link Archer A7) and the same thing happens, on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks.
Is there a way to force update the firmware?
Thank you!
Hi,
you already have the latest firmware installed...

The best way to getaround this problem is first go to wifi settings and forget all known networks then connect to your wifi router using WPS button

Exact same problem here, WiFi issues after turning on the TV. Latest firmware, only reboot helps
I cannot find menu to choose between 2.4 and 5 in mobile hotspot. I read somewhere that Excynos architecture can recieve 5GHz but cannot transmit. Can anyone confirm that?

There is no option for this. Hardware module on this device can recieve 5Ghz but cannot transmit.
Edit: Oh, seems like I'm wrong according to the post above.
