well try to reflash rom or something. ... or restore a nandroid backup ... if you made it ..
i guess what you did is moved the app or something that was used at that time... lets say launcher, or theme for it or something like that ...
Thanks for replying but unfortunately i did not make a backup and to make it worse, it was my only stock usa Tmoible rom. I found a custom rom "JikantaruROM_v1.1_Wildfire_S" rom however i am finding issues with it such as NO ROTATION what so ever. Plus i don't like some of the effects.
IF you can give me a link to a stock usa tmobile rom i would very much appreciate it. I have been looking but to no avail.
im afraid that i do not have it either... maybe some of the mates from tmous can make nand and send it to you so you can restore it ;-)

Thanks for the link but i got error 155. THis is very frustrating and i just want my stock rom back. Custom roms are buggy. I currentyl have no "rotation"/"tilt" function on this rom -__-.
No offence but what you just said was basically the same as: "Hey guys, I deleted everything"
Just flash a new ROM

Excuse me but no its not. If you read almost any question posted on this website with people who post simple information less questions like you just quoted, the first reply is always for more information.
You would think that "experienced" people on this forum would know this already

Ummm... If you say so.
What I am trying to say is that if the system looks for internal apps and they are on the SD then it will spaz up and not find them. Therforth they are not there. As if they were deleted.
Please think before posting.

Well that was kind of self explanatory but if it makes you feel better. Why i posted this was to see if someone had a simple fix for it instead of making me using a custom rom. I had no problem with that rom so i wanted it back. Flashing a new rom would obviously fix it.
Download your version of RUU, run it, find rom.zip in >windows< temp folder. Unpack files system.img and boot.img to the folder with fastboot.exe.
Enter hboot->fastboot and execute:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img

So I think i have officially bricked my Evo. Apologies if this is the wrong sections. Didnt know where to put it.
Well I had rooted with Simpleroot and everything was just fine. But when i tried to install a copy of the Fresh root suddenly i was stuck at the white screen. So i went into recovery and and wiped everything. I also partitioned the sd card... Dont know if i should have done that but i figured it would wipe everything.. It did and now my zip files are gone. I Dont know what to do.. Yikes

Probably shoulda gone into Q&A....but u erased all.the data on ur card when u formatted it. You should probably follow the root instructions again from the start including copying the files to your sd card and u should be fine.
You could have done a simple search and fixed ur issue.

Sorry I thought this my be the wrong forum section. I cant access my Sd card though?
Your Evo isn't bricked.
Select the USB-MASS toggle feature in recovery mode, that'll mount your SD card to your computer, then drop a ROM or two onto the root of your SD card, wipe, then flash one.
Or pull the SD card out and put it in an adapter and plug into computer, then drop a couple roms on it

Youre definitely not bricked. Pull the battery out, boot into fast boot, wait a sec while it does its thing, then select wipe/restore factory defaults. Then it should be fine. This happened to me 2 days ago. When bricked, the phone won't even turn on. It does nothing, thus the term.

Which ROM's are giving you theses problems?
Ive tried the fresh 1.0.1 thats when it all started then i tried the EVO-NonSense.
I had been flashing roms before the Fresh one now im just stuck at the white screen.
Are you using Koush's Clockwork recovery? Try flashing Yay 4 Juggs ROM.
Im using the RA recovery that came with SimpleRoot
Yeah, just try flashing a different ROM.
Hmm i'll try. Is there anyway to earse my root and start over? Because for now im just get the htc Evo 4g white logo everytime i try and flash a new ROM
Did you update the radios and all that too? Did you make sure and use the right version of simple root for your software?
Yeah Yesterday I was flashing ROMS normally. Something may have happened when i tried to flash a radio and wimax

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBu6GsRZMdI Some random video I looked up on YouTube that shows you how to unroot. It's a hassle, to unroot, then root again, I'd give flashing a different another shot before I did that.
Stupid question: Are you wiping data and dalvik cache before flashing a ROM?
Hello all,
So I bought my HTC Wildfire S Virgin Mobile on black friday like everybody else. I waited a few days and then rooted. And then I had the brilliant idea to try installing the CM 7.1 Mod for it. And well, I didn't do a Clockwork Backup, and well, it didnt work very well. The phone got stuck on the HTC screen. So finally I installed a different ROM, JikantaruROM, and I managed to get past the bootscreen but I can't use my carrier anymore. So I was wondering if anybody could either tell me how to flash CM 7.1 Unoffical release to my phone, or if anybody knew a way I could get back to the original Virgin Mobile software. It seems that you have all the other stock roms, so I would REALLY appreciate if someone could share the Virgin Mobile rom too.
Thanks in advance,
Wieland959
Seconded. Although I think mine is in a slightly worse case; I kept flashing roms and ended up in a state where it turns on, screen remains black, then the phone vibrates three times and evidently does nothing. So Wieland959, I'd advise you to stop flashing until someone posts the ROM.
And if someone could let me know how to recover from my current state, I'd very much appreciate it.

Your in the same boat I was just in. My solution was to go back to radioshack with the receipt and tell them it just turned off and wouldnt turn back on. Just doing the 3 vibrations. I did spend hours trying to search about how to fix it, but I dont think theres a way unless you use a jtag hookup and some sort of fancy programmer.
@Wieland959, If you want. I just tried to do the OTA update through the settings on the phone itself. It would let me download the file(I believe it should be flashable through the cwm recovery), but when I tried to let the phone install the file, I would get the android with the exclamation mark after the reboot. Ill try to post here, if it will upload. But......
DISCLAIMER!!!!
I take no responsibility for anyone damaging their phone using the file here. This file, as far as I know, should only work with the Wildfire S Virgin Mobile USA CDMA model A510C as this is the phone the file was downloaded from.
Thank you for the file, but I couldn't flash it. What might work though, if you are willing is, if you have rooted your phone, to make a cwm backup and upload that here. From there I should be able to recover and then factory wipe my phone. But thank you anyways for the file. I will keep kicking until the phone doesn't boot.
How are you planning on restoring from backup if the phone doesn't even boot?
Sorry, I'm new to this...

Okay. I managed to boot my phone and am able to send/receive texts. The rom I used? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367701] It seems to work pretty well. However, I would still like to have the original rom if someone could still upload it.
VM USA Stock Clockwork Backup
Well, I don't know much about stuff like this, but here is my clockwork mod recovery backup. It's just the stock VM USA w/HTC Sense. I have realized that I deleted the bloatware, so that's the only thing that isn't 100% stock. Hope it helps.
*Unzip the file before placing on you sd card. (Contains the clockwork folder, which contains the backup folder, and then the folder that contains the backup itself.)*

Thanks for the backup! It worked perfect for me!
would you mind if i posted the link on another forum? i know of a couple people looking for a backup aswell.
You should be able to switch back with the recovery no problem. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to install boot into recovery, install from SD, select specific, and select the zip of the rom. Also, I don't have my phone on me so the wording might be a little different.
MMS is a known issue with the rom from what I've read. I don't have it installed personally.
@brandonhun, Thank you so much. You're a life saver. As far as the rom goes, it still have sense on it and there are tons of MMS errors. So just wait and eventually something will pop up.

I haven't done this ROM change but if its the stock HTC Sense go to personalize and get HTC widgets (perhaps its get more HTC widgets) and you should find an update to the clock widget. That should give you the original clock plus a bunch more new ones.

Hi, I am Gnex user almost a week now. Coming from Nexus S. First thing I did was rooting my phone and I noticed that once per day it will freeze and I will have to take out the battery so I can power on my phone. This happens on stock JB with stock kernel using Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed file from this forum and recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-maguro from ofiicial clockworkmod web site. The freezing is gone if I lock my phone and unroot. For rooting I was using command line, not the Gnex toolkit. I am confident that I don't make mistakes the way I root the Gnex because I have some experience with Nexus S and all the flashing I did with it. I am using the same apps except that when I am unrooted I dont use titanium backup and rom manager. So I think that apps are not the problem. I was thinking that maybe the file Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed is the problem, I also downloaded the files couple of times using chrome to eliminate the suspicion of bad download. Can someone please give me some advice or put me in wright direction?
P.S. I put the superuser file and recovery in attachment if someone knows how to check them if there is error.
Sorry for my English.
Thanks in advance

Let me give you a little background.
Few days back, I rooted my phone. Then I used Titanium Backup to uninstall apps which I thought were not useful like LG TV, Email- should not have done that
Then the phone was somehow did not boot. I looked up internet and tried something- got worse: Emergency mode with yellow screen. Went ahead to a local phone repair shop and he exploited me well to hand me back the phone in working condition
NOW... the problem is camera does not work. It shows a black screen everytime I launch it. Going in Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All , Camera shows 0 bytes !
Searching on internet I found that I should not have uninstalled the Email app.
Please share some ideas on how I can help myself here. Any help will be appreciated.
PS- I am using Ubuntu on my computer and Froyo.
Holy hell! I had the same problem a long time ago! (Except no uninstalling was involved) It forced my dad to buy me a new phone.

then download any custom rom that you want and flash that
it will solve your problem

OP, I would advise, as you ask questions like the one you posted, verify the information posted before you attempt anything. If someone says that if you install a custom ROM on your device, it'll brick; go to the DEV threads, and check out other peoples experiences. You should also spend a ton of time researching before you start messing with your device. MOST of the big trouble people get into is not reading and asking enough questions. If you want to root, find out how to do it, AND how to fix it if it breaks, before you flash a custom ROM, find out how to do it AND how to get back to stock if you need to. The more you learn, the less the chances are that you'll end up in trouble

To be honest, I was confused with people talking about Clockwork and Nandroid- and I was stupid enough to try not finding out So, No. There is no recovery but on the bright side, I will do that as the first thing from next time onwards
Got a HTC One X second hand from eBay, from the UK. Problem is that it's stuck in airplane mode, which clearly seems to be a software issue. Basically, the previous owner had routed the phone (I know this because Clockworkmod is the recovery) and has installed a stock ROM without re-locking the phone. This is probably what's causing the issue. How can I go about fixing this? Nearly all other solutions point to using a Nandroid backup. Obviously since I didn't do the bootloader changing etc. I don't have a backup. Is there anything I can do without going through the long-winded task of sending it back?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Reboot into bootloader (reboot with volume down, keep it until you get into bootloader). Find your CID and main version (i.e. download "minimal adb and fastboot", get into fastboot mode in your bootloader, type "fastboot.exe getvar all"). Once you have your CID and main version google for "nandroid backup collection htc one x". Download it, put inside clockworkmod/backup on your phone and, since you already have CWM, you can easily recover from downloaded image from recovery.
Lot of threads around if you need more detailed instructions for a particular steps. Good luck!
Go to the nandroid backup section (search it) and download the backup that suits your CID number and restore.

Ive found one the same but surely you could flash a custom kernel then custom rom? And then use it normally?
It is a well documented problem, it can sometimes be fixed quite easily but there are handsets out there that cannot be fixed so easily or not at all. I would have thought that the majority of them being sold on eBay will be the ones that the owners have tried to fix unsuccessfully, and buying them would be a bit of a lottery
