now the wp7 is jailbrocken we are able to install apps but where can we get some ...and how do we install apps ?
well i've found out that you can deploy apps from visual basic express for windows phone directly to your phone when it's unlocked.
so if some of the app developers can upload their apps as a visual basic project you can deploy it to your phone.
Yesterday i've downloaded some apps from the apps hub of MS and deployed it to my phone.
Just for testing purpose but they work
Now it's time for me to learn to create programs, but i don't know what to create
i''ve made the standard apps from visual basic express, but they aren't very usefull...
The chevronwp7 tool has 2 purposes and not the third...
1. For developers to test their apps without needing to pay the developer fee, this is more beneficial for those regions that don't yet have a way to pay for a developer account, but want to start working on it anyways
2. For apps that may use native code which won't get into market place, and in this case they can provide the xap which you can deploy.
In these two and all other cases, no developer in their right mind would hand out their intellectual property (their source code) unless they were doing it for others to learn from. Especially with a paid application, why would they give the source code out when it is in the market place?
The creators of chevronwp7 have already stated that this will not help in loading paid apps from market place either.
Hope this clears things up for you.
I have no intention to "steal" apps from their developers.
I just want to create my own programs, and learn from others.
There are dozens of free apps in the marketplace, and there were plenty of developers in the time of wm 6.5 which were programming for fun, and release their apps here on XDA so others can benefit from.
I think when time goes by these developers will release their apps here, because of the fee MS charges for developers to release the apps on marketplace.
So if your app is free, why not release the xap? No hassle with marketplace and native codes, and people who aren't interested in the code won't even think to look at the code.
I hope I made my point clear, it's not to install paid apps for free, but to help the developers who don't have acces to marketplace.
yea, which was it's original intent which is good. though given that chevronWP7 has now been taken down by it's creators we have to wait and see as to what they're doing with MS. MS has started negotiations with them to try and encourage the homebrew. lets see what happens of it all.

I'm sure developers will release commercial apps in source form Even *most* free app developers won't do it, because of the way others like to copy code and create redundant apps. That has never been a popular trend on any mobile OS, and I don't see it becoming such.
@ OP: The unlock that came out for WP7 is not a jailbreak. It does nothing but allow you to use you device to test and deploy applications, instead of the emulator.
Samsung is planning to open source its bada operating system next year for outside developers and other phone makers to use the code. It is a very good news for BADA users. Hope this will help in spreading BADA OS and attract many more developers.

hmmmmmmmm
it is like "Leave me live today & kill me tomorrow"
Do you think bada 2.0 will get a jailbreak after that ?!
Just wait until 3.0 an hack it as you want
Also big question here Will Wave I/II get that update ?!
Also looks a similar story (Nokia, Symbian S^3)
I hope bada will be better than Symbian and won't die after that
Best Regards
It's just a big good news!!
Wish it will be real in 2012.
And wish developpers will follow Bada.

Afraid not. SamFirmware tweet about Wave 3 updates begin Q2 2012, but nothing about Wave I/II.

I dont really understand what did samsung mean by making it open source!! There are too possibility
1) they will open the OS only to other manufacturer.
2)including first option, they will also open up API a little bit more so a developer can easily access system services for better integration off apps. for example Like accessing notification bar from your app.
I am looking forward for the second option.
No bada will be open source
The SDK and the API you can download from opensource.samsung.com its no secret that the interfaces to bada are open, only the system is missing
but why get access to the notification bar? it is a main os component open everything means hack or get malware for everything.
I dont think android is open over api enough only a root can give you to all access but some users dont want this. To watch videos to surf the net or to write sms/email nobody needs root access, so this i am an opponent of.
We saw the possibilities of rooted iphones and android phones so i am scared of using a system that could have so much viruses like windows, this is not the future.
OS Modifications on an opensource os will be custom roms i hope so, no the stock rom. otherwize i would search an alternative cause a hackable system i dont want.
http://badamobile.wordpress.com/2011/09/21/samsung-there-is-decision-on-open-source/
Looks like these are only rumors. BADA is not going to be open source.
Create a section B.a.D.a devoperlers school?
with someone who will help us to easily create programs with applications that we release samsung?
XD
here we bada users are not wished, you will see most users would call you crazy to release apps for bada. Also the mods seems to be not interested in us. I would help with some examples if time is left why not.
My favorit bada app coder helper is this guy:
http://horrorcoding.altervista.org/
He has a lot experience with most languages and decided to provide examples for beginners in bada ecosystem.
For me he is something like an hero, i like his coding style and his knowledgement.
if you want it just create it, simple. This is the response you'll get most likely if you ask such questions.
And please, write bada normal way, you're not cool by writing it using this stupid case ;/

Nice, but.. No group chat?!
Excellent!!! Downloaded and running. messaging is very fast. Can't wait for calls. All my contacts added without issue.
Not the same experience with my messaging.
Delayed delivery even on the wifi and also hardly any toast notifications. Tiles work fine. But only when I go to see if there is any new notification is when I realise since there isn't any toasts working (it is selected to be on!)
I can not even get messages to deliver!
Anyone having better luck than me??

Sounds great I want to see what you guys come up with
So, after Windows phone 8 news.
Will Viber still implement calling feature for Windows phone 7.5?
If so, do you have any dates for it?
Hi,
Yes, our calling feature is being developed these days for Windows Phone 7 as well. Unfortunately we still don't have specific release dates, but we estimate that it will take up to a few months.

Thanks for the update, good to know you are buys wokring on updates.
If you need beta testers for the voice calls let me know
Thanks for the update Viber Team!
We are waiting for!
any update on voice?
Thanks!
Consider it a dead joke. Most of the chat clients are on WP7 a dead joke. Each update ruins it further than fix it. Viber has taken over 2 years and still don't have enough resources to support WP7.

Not sure if its Viber´s team fault. WP 7.5 doesnt have support to incoming VOIP calls in background, so not even Skype will work as it should, and it is Microsoft's own app. Viber will be pointless without that (despite the fact that its almost pointless now, at least you know you cant, different from "doesnt work").
It will be fully functional in WP8.

I doubt that is entirely true. For Skype its a different story as they have a totally different infrastructure. But we have Tango video calls and they do work pretty well with all WPs. Even worked on WP7! Skype already has VOIP calls (not in background) whereas Viber doesn't even have that yet. Also, keyboard autocorrect isn't even present! Background notification agent is delayed, the bug list continues. If you read their reviews and ratings on marketplace you would know that if I was developing Viber, I would shoot myself by now. But again, developing is a hard job. Viber is too small a company to take up this task perhaps?
@drupad2drupad -
We are doing what we can to develop and include our calling service on Viber for Windows Phone. As mentioned above, it is not such an easy task and you presented it, and as a company policy, we want to make sure our service runs smoothly and offers full functionality. Unfortunately we still are not looking for Beta testers, but we will certainly keep you posted once we have news.
All that while, please keep in mind that we have many *many* other projects running in our company, and they are spread over many platforms (and Viber for new platforms is actually on its way). So if considering we only have limited resources, we cannot only focus on WP. However, as I explained, we are working around the clock to bring our calling service to our fans, and we'll let you know once we have news.
