[solved]Swpe license gone? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm on stock 2.3.5 with the added darkside kernel, i tried changing my build.prop to the i9100 and when i changed it back i can't use Samsung apps, Tmobile TV says I'm not compatible and now my Swype license is gone, anyway i can get it back so i can Swype again?
Edit: I just flashed a custom ROM and it did the trick
Swyped from my Sgs2 T989

You can try installing the Swype beta.

Thanks but I like the one that's preinstalled, it looks better, but I'm using it in the mean time

Upgrading to CM nightly- question about swype

I'm debating upgrading to the newest nightly of cyanogenmod however I really do not want to let go of my stock swype. I'm not interested in using an alternate app like shapewriter either....
Has anyone successfully loaded the stock apk onto their CM build for this phone? If so, please explain how!
Thanks!

Well, if you need a froyo rom with Swype you should download Eugene's Froyo (newbuild.zip) and flash it via ROM Manager. Otherwise, no, there's no way to salvage it.
thanks for the quick reply, i'm going to look into it.
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749273 . Some of the people here don't like Swype and are totally against installing it on other ROMs but it is doable.

Thanks for the link, i'm in the process of going through it.
I don't see why anyone would not want swype at least as an option on a custom rom, especially since the stock version runs beautifully. Swype is really smooth and accurate, so much so that I wouldn't mind not having a hardware keyboard!
swype is an acquired taste lol some like it some dont but once you use it and get used to it its the best at what it does! sign up for the beta and they should send you a swype installer pretty quickly only real problem is that it isnt themed like the one that comes with the slide
go to 4shared and search for swype there should be a themed version that doesnt get old
and on another note if you sign up and register on swype then search for a swype installer and use that you should be able to use swype that way since it will see you are registered to use it and what not!
Try this:

[REQ] DioPen Chinese IME.apk for Samsung Galaxy Ace

Hi,
I recently flashed my device from the Asian firmware to European firmware. After flashing, i realized that the DioPen Chinese IME is not available as it was available in my device when I first bought it. Is there anyway that I can re-install the input again into the device.
I had try using many 3rd party application in the market, but none of them satisfied me yet. If there is the way to re-install the DioPen Chinese IME, I would be happy..
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Im not sure if this will work for you but here, I've extracted DioPenChineseIME.apk from a DXKPB stock firmware. I think you can install it just like a regular app.
Hope it helps.

I am able to install it, but i believe that is some missing file due to the keyboard is not popping up after enabling. Instead it crashed, and enter the "force closed" mode..
Maybe you can't install it like a regular app. By which I have no idea myself how to. The app in the market works well too though, tried before since I used em before

I'll give it another go then, I put the files for tw in manually after it wouldn't flash and it just wouldn't respond when I selected it.
I tested it on CM10, as it comes.
I used TWICS when I was on ICS ROMs, that's why I had to try it on JB.
So!!!!!!!does it work on JB?

Sorry, still not responding. I made a zip including all Iib files and framework, it flashed and booted fine but still won't respond when I select it as a launcher.
this will not work in JB

It won't work due to the change in api level.Guess we have to wait for samsung's JB update for S3

[Q] Is there a way to enable call recording in stock ROM?

Hello there,
I have a rooted t999, unlocked. After going through multiple posts on this forum, I have realized that to enable the call recording feature on your samsung galaxy s3 t999, you got to install a custom ROM.
But, is there any way to update a .apk (or any other method) , compatible with the stock ROM on t999 which might enable the call recording feature back?
Cheers!

Here is the one from FreeGS3 r6.
This is NOT my work!
This the stock UVALG1 Dialer app modded by uoY_redruM, dev for the FreeGS3 rom. All thanks and credit goes to him!
(Try out his rom, btw. It is awesome!)
This should work on any stock based rom though.
I'm pretty sure this is where the mod is included. Not sure right now if its dependant on another modded apk as well. Heading to work so will check later if this doesn't work by itself.

So will this not work on custom ROMs?
Its the samsung dialer so itll only work on stock based roms.
It'll likely be dependant on other parts of the touchwiz framework and is integrated along with contacts and such.
You can try it but I would be extremely surprised if it worked on anything like CM or ASOP.

Wait, sorry I shoulda been specific I guess! I don't think you can install like a normal app.
Use root explorer and copy the original from /system/app for your backup.
Pay attention to the permissions it has and copy the modded one over the old. Change permissions to what they were before. Reboot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik, then reboot system.
Test.

Thanks a lot Doc!
This is quite interesting! Although I have root explorer, I am terrible with the android stuff and so I am worried about replacing this apk with the existing phone.apk. (its the lack of "recovery" knowledge that scares me to go ahead)
Has anyone of you experts made the dialer work so far through this integration of FreeGS3 phone.apk on the stock ROM?
Cheers!
Another thing that I just figured - In my stock ROM, I do not have a phone.apk (attaching screenshot)
Which app should be backed up? I am guessing that the GS3 apk should be renamed as the stock ROM apk. correct?
http://db.tt/t7Ig4rsG
Edit 2:
guys, just figured out that there is actually an .apk called SecPhone_TMO.apk (kept searching for phone.apk )
so, please ignore the screenshot above!
although, will wait for someone to try replacing the stock ROM .apk with the GS3.
Worked perfect on Wicked's ROM. Have to move the stock phone APK out of the system\app directory and replace it with Doc's. Make sure to put the phone in airplane mode first.
Question - where are the recordings stored?
Thanks for the awesome mod!
They are stored at /sdcard/sounds/
Thank uoy_redrum at the freegs3 thread. Its his work not mine.
.....hope he didn't mind me sharing it like this. Shoulda asked first.
Ill check with him to be sure though.
You guys should try his rom. He's an outstanding dev and very helpful!

I wouldn't worry much about it. Especially if you make a copy of the original file as a backup on extSDcard.
Titanium backup works really well too.
Biggest thing to remember is the permissions.
If you can boot into recovery, wiping cache is no big deal at all. Wiping dalvik isn't bad either. When you reboot it'll rebuild dalvik but will use the new app you copied into system.
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BEFORE ANYTHING!!!
That's the most important yhing you can do when messing with anything. It basically creates an exact image/snapshot of your current setup so you can go back to it at anytime.
Nandroid = Peace of Mind!

Well if you do that, the app will become user app, not system app. I don't know about you, but I personally would rather have Gmail system app then user app
I've have it installed for couple of days on 4.1.2 - without any issues. Like the pinch to zoom and swipe to delete..
