[Q] Vodafone (uk) credit to buy apps not working? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

As of the weekend just gone I cannot buy any apps from Google market (3.4.4) using my Vodafone call credit (it only allows credit card buying), does anyone know if this a temporary problem with either google market or Vodafone, or has Vodafone stopped this feature?

I've never had it work at all

[Q] unlocking galaxy nexus....

Hello every one... i am waiting too get my galaxy nexus from 3... is there any way I can unlock it to all network as I am willing to use it overseas while traveling.
To my knowledge (north American) galaxy nexi are nit carrier locked unless you have the CDMA version if your gnex has a sim card it should support any card you put in it that uses the same network frequencies as the device
You can find the frequencies here http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus-4219.php
Worst case scenario once you root and flash a custom rom I doubt there would be any simlock... .. but you shouldn't have to go that far

Thank you mate..
If it's on 3 UK it'll probably be locked at this point. There were only a few from the first batch that weren't. Try calling cust. support and ask them, O2 provided me with one for free. If not then you can get a code via eBay for about £10.

I purchased mine from a three UK high street shop just before Christmas and it is not locked to 3.I have only tried an orange sim and it worked perfectly.

Got mine from 4uphones on Vodafone as an upgrade, no lock or carrier spam. Hope the 3 one is the same
There's few operators that will lock the sim.
I bought my nexus on PAYG from three, I've been using my T-mobile sim in it since. They are sim free from three.

Any ways to refill Google wallet in Canada?

I live in Canada where Google wallet is not supported yet. Is there any ways I can purchase some kind of prepaid MasterCard's with an US address? If so, please recommend me some good prepaid credit cards! Thanks a bunch.

One good pre-paid card is zoompass. Most places treat it as a regular credit card, not as a prepaid and you can link it to Google wallet

I have reloaded my google wallet many times. I use vanilla MasterCard gift card. It took a.lot.of.work if you need help let me know
for google wallet to work in canada you need to pay two currency conversions? one for the vanilla credit card and again when you use google wallet in canada since the vanilla card is in US funds? what is the conversion rate you guys are getting?
does it still work after google fixed the security problem?
The pre-paid mastercards seem to be the only way. But tbh it seems like a waste of money to be paying the 5$ they charge for it + the conversion fee. yikes.

***T-Mobile GAB Sim Card***

So ive been doing researches cuz i would like to get my "WIFI Calling" to work...
So i called T-mobile to see they had a solution for me...
And this is what they said:
They told me that the Normal Sim Card i have is not supported to use WIFI Calling.....
So the guy said that i need to buy a "GAB SIM CARD" that supports WIFI Calling and its price is $20
I even Google it to see how they look but didn't find it...
What do you guys think?
Should i buy it or is there another way to do it without buying this SIM CARD

That's bull****, they should have updated your SIM card when you bought the phone off of them unless of course you didn't buy it from them

That's funny. Both of mine came with their new SIM card. I don't know why they're charging you for one.

sim cards are and should be free from t-mobile. go to your local store.
BUT, when you got your phone (if you bought it from t-mobile) it should have come with a sim card, that supports wifi calling. That's what I had to do, had them activate the sim that came with my galaxy s2, and then started using it instead. and bam wifi calling
It sounds like you went to a dealer.
Not every t-mobile store is operated by t-mobile. Many of them are dealer stores that charge whatever they want.
Dealer stores are usually pre pay only, but there are some authorized to collect commission off contracts and that have access to t-mobiles "quickview" account software. (Quickview is the system the infamous SOC codes are set up in.)
A lot of dealers incorporate sleazy practices and do not conform to the standards set by t-mobile. They do things like charge egregious amounts of money on SIM cards, and may not honor the return polices set by t-mobile. They also sell lots of "out of production" phones they get at good deals ex. Lg-g2x for under 240 dollars wholesale and resell for over 550.
Call t-mobile and ask for a corporate store, not a dealer store.
T-mobile seems to allows this since "money is money"
As for the SIM card I don't think it has anything more than you're IMSI and your half of the encryption cypher, (for establishing a network connection) and some limited memory regarding contacts and previous network connection frequencies . . . The fact that your SIM card did not support wifi calling is most likely because t-mobile identified it a a card not to allow access to for whatever reason. I don't believe there is a technical deficiency in you're old SIM preventing such a technology, or support in you're new one for that matter.
But then again, I am no expert. If anyone knows more please share.

Why would you pay for it? They are free
Because TMobile likes to get every dime they can. Usually they are free in the corporate owned stores.....franchises have the option to charge

Initially they told me $20 too...but I explained to them in a very gruff voice that I give them over $200 a month and I am completely done with my contract and would be happy to switch carriers. Manager came out and gave me the SIM. Since that day I always go to that store and the Manager normally sweetens my purchase with a discount on what I buy.

T-Mobile is actually using new type of SIM cards - GBA cards that allow WiFi calling via the SIM, and the device must support it as well - you must have a GBA SIM and a compatible device for this type of WiFi calling to work.
If I remember correctly, only the Galaxy S2 and the HTC Amaze support WiFi Calling through the SIM, rest of the devices have it using the app.

Google Wallet Card

Ok, so I know that this old news, but I'm only 14 and I used to heavily depend on the prepaid card, and now that its discontinued, what do I do now? Could I buy a Green Dot Prepaid Card as an alternative to the Google Prepaid Card?

[Q] Google Wallet Working

I'm Planning to buy a Galaxy nexus because the Nexus 4 doesn't seem to be coming back into stock soon
anyways, i'm asking a question if Google Wallet works Straight out of the Box
With AT&T
I do not know about at&t but I cannot get it to work on mine with T-Mobile. From what I have read it has something to do with these isis micro Sims(in test markets?)? When I launch the wallet app it says it can take up to 5 minutes to setup. After 5 minutes it says my device is not ready yet... I plan to go down to T-Mobile later this week to see if I can get a non-isis Sim card instead. Not sure if at&t has these issues. Just a FYI.
