Hey peeps,
Anyone else had issues with lining out to an amp/set of speakers? I can jack in headphones and all is gravy but when I connect a standard 3.5mm jack to my amp I get nothing/nada?! I had an issue with my nexus s sounding crackly and distorted too. If I connect the same cable to the headphone socket of my TV it's fine. What gives?

I've plugged mine into my car without issues. I have it plugged into the RCA input jacks that connect to my back-seat dvd player. So its 3.5mm to red/white rca
When I plug the included headphones into my nexus I still hear sound from my phone. Is this normal? I can hear in the head phones....but its still coming out of the phone speaker.
Any and all help/suggestions welcome.

Anyone know a solution to this? I enjoy listening to Pandora in my car and being able to take calls through my car stereo, but for some reason my mic doesn't work unless I unplug the Aux cable or put the call in speakephone.

I can use the headphone jack but its not a clean source.. like a line out.
I have audiophile headphones and want to connect the incredible to my fiio e17 portable dac/headphone amplifier... the best sound comes from a line out from the usb that will get amped from my dac/amp... then get sent to my headphones. Since i have my incredible sitting around.
a couple of companys make high end mp3/amplified portable players.. the Vamp from vmoda is a portable amp that allows an iphone 4 to doc in it is $600 so thats $600 plus an iphone 4.. Ibasso makes a high end android player with a awesome amp... is $800.. Hifiman makes an awesome portable mp3 player that can drive some pretty hard to drive headphones is $600..
So if i can use a clean line out audio signal from my free incredible and connect it to the line in from my pretty good Fiio dac/amp then i have a pretty darn inexpensive solution to my sensitive/subjective ears.
sorry to get too detailed.. but i am a audiophile with a severely limited budget.
Well, I did not know that. I would think the closest thing you will find is the video output cables to do this job. If memory serves, it is the standard left and right audio channels, and video. Of course you would need another cable to convert to 3.5mm jack, which is not a very clean or good looking method.

Does anyone know if one exists? I would love to have a single cable in my phone to charge and for audio. Unfortunately my car stereo (Audi rnse) doesn't support Bluetooth streaming.

I really doubt this will work for your nexus 5, but a search on ebay found this to be the closest to what your asking for:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-B-USB...Phone_PDA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item5d40faf05b
If your car at least has aux output, then you can either use a usb car charger as well. plug the audio into the aux port, the usb into charging port, and then the micro usb into your phone. The ebay listing states specifically for certain phone models, nothing even close to a nexus though. But for under $10, its worth a shot.
I have a USB charger and aux port but means two wires annoyingly. Does nexus 5 support audio out via USB?

why not use a bluetooth audio adapter which connects to the AUX port if you have one, i have no wires anymore to my phone , i use the OWL Carpad Qi charger (i have some issues right now but seems like hardware issue) and i use a Belkin AirCast Car Audio Wireless Bluetooth AUX Music HandsFree Kit, i normally wanted to go with the Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit but thats no available in my country .
So i go into my car just mount the phone in the car pad were i also use a nfc tag to enable bluetooth and turn off other stuff, and start the engine, now my phone gets charged then I press the belkin and i am connected and music is playing , i also use it now as my handsfree because i am absolutely fine with the quality.
For USB audio you will need a car stereo that supports audio over USB. I suggest looking into Bluetooth. That's how I do it and I love it.

Question is though....does the Nexus 5 support audio through USB????
No one? Does slim port or whatever the standard in nexus has, not support audio USB output?

Try them out, that is what I use and I simply plug the usb cable into the GROM Audio box, then into my phone, and enjoy music from my phone and charging as well.
For the dock, I just use the InfiniApps Slyde Magnetic CD Slot Mount($25 on Amazon)
I tried with my old GSII car dock and it's not working.

Does the Grom Audio box USB cable audio streaming works with the Nexus 5? I'm considering buying it but searching around I'm not sure it works with the Nexus 5.
