Hey guys, wondering if anyone knows how to port or make a stock android keyboard that has Chinese input embedded? I just love the feel of stock I a keyboard and hate all the 3rd party apps out there. Even the vibration of the keypad is better in stock keyboard. Hope someone can help~

I don't have a full ROM zip to flash (might check with some members who received the OTA recently), I have my backup that you can restore through CWM.
let me know if you want it, I'll upload somewhere.

also, a few nights ago, when i opened this gray page, i noticed like tons of blackdots under the screen, mostly on the top but also around and centre too. are they dead pixels? will warrenty get me exchanged? i bought my phone with telus but lost the.receipt. how do i get warrenty? im in canada.
sorry for all the questions

What is so special about the stock ICS Chinese keyboard? I'm currently using CEDIME which is fantastic, so I'm just curious.

This one I'm not sure as I never really done this, perhaps should wait for other members who had experience on this to comment.
It's just my habit to make a backup on my new handset before doing anything else, mine came with yakjusz..I don't like additional keyboard which I don't use. Flashed it to yakju.
well, im assuming that stock chinese keyboard would look identical to stock english, which is the best keyboard there is IMO

I've just completed this. I too had that piece of garbage from Samsung. I've downloaded google official ITL41F files and flashed them through fastboot, manually by using these commands:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primekj10.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxkk1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
The result ? The ROM is just about the same as before, nothing really changed. Anyway, I hope this helps.
LE: Oh, I forgot. The recovery is back to stock after this. Good to know.
I did the same thing as lambda30, worked fine.
Thank you so much. That was exactly what I was looking for. Flashed as yakju firmware after unlocking...then relocked all good. Now I'm on the Google wagon. Muuuch better.

It does make a difference as long as permissions were f**ked up and couldn't install Wallet. Other than that and the fact that there are a couple of dozen ring tones missing, probably no difference at all.

Sorry if I offended you in any way, I didn't meant for that. yakju and still no Wallet love ? Hmm. Did you get it like this, or installed from Google ICS official images ?
Oh you're fine we're on the same page now at least! I bought it from an importer in Chicago (where I live), and that's just how it was. No wallet stock, no wallet in the market. I was able to flash the wallet from the Themes and Apps forum, however.
The one thing I can say now that it totally different, is when the phone powers up it actually looks for an update, where before on the samsung variant it never did that in the beginning after it boots up. So that is prolly why the other build model hasn't gotten an update.
This thread will do it for you, quick and painless.

Aha. Dunno what's the problem (probably other build no. or such), but you could try the official Google ICS images if you want. It should work with those. Just do backup of current installation... I've found it the hard way on my Nexus S.

Some of the devs have nightlies, so no, i haven't had that issue! Always something new with a/multiple new feature/features. Plus with theme manager and the amount of roms supporting it, i can go straight on performance and then easily pick my theme.

no, it was meant to provide clean android experience without skins and bloatware, and ease of rooting and unlocking bootloader for those who care about it
there's nothing wrong with flashing, but flashing several ROMs daily is kind of stupid, people end up not using their phone as a smartphone, instead it becomes just another toy

I came to XDA to post this question, if those phones came pre-loaded with JB 4.1.
They didn't come preloaded BUT Google said they will be prompted to upgrade to the Preview Jelly Bean update within minutes.
Okay, so it's almost pre loaded ;-)
Which is even better so we can just grab the zip and don't need to pack the ROM.

Uh.. I think there's a way, but that sounds complicated, and a difficult find for sure. Perhaps just look for a stock 4.0.4 verizon rom + radios + recovery and then relock bootloader via fastboot. Because there is no way you're locking your bootloader without fastboot... so you need to use it anyway, so just use the original method I linked.
Did you check make a nandroid backup?

But then you won't be stock... you'll be on a stock ROM but still custom recovery etc.
Just use the method Efrant posted and you'll be 100% stock. Its extremely easy, and you can be sure that nothing will go wrong because you'll be doing it manually yourself. Stop asking people to do things for you and just make it happen.

Trying to connect it to kies, the program doesn't recognize it. She took it to the T-Mo store and they said that it was a bug in some of the S2's and were unable to do anything. My question now, is it safe to install cwm and flash a jelly bean rom even tho that this bug is present??? Thanks in advance
Sorry for the double post but I'm not sure if it's worth noting, but the front camera is on the right side of the phone as opposed to the left (looking at pictures from the web). Not sure if this is substantial or anything just a quick note.
