My first app in Market, a campfire client! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, I put out my first app into the android market independently and just thought I'd pimp it here. It's a 37 signals campfire client that's made specifically for the galaxy nexus. It's super ice cream sandwichy and is buttery smooth to use. I couldn't find a campfire client on android that was really good looking so I made my own. Check it out.
https://market.android.com/details?...SwxLDEsImNvbS5icmlhbmdyaWZmZXkuY2FtcGZpcmUiXQ..

No idea what campfire is....but the app looks great. Very ICS like

This isn't a campfire. I, for one, love campfires.

Seems good but I just stopped using campfire lol. Maybe make a basecamp app?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

Looks like a chat room, $5 though.... I think I'll pass if it's just a chat room.
And you should add a black version, consumes less power on AMOLED displays.

I think $5 is fair. For a really good quality app, it'll cost some money. I put a ton of time into making this thing both look good and function super well.

Aesthetically you did a nice job, and as a graphic artist I think 4.99 for hardwork and a nice app is more than reasonable.

The Ui is perfect great Work!!
I love the ics style

What is your favourite GNex Feature?

As the title states lets see what is important to us. You can only pick one thing, that's the point. I know we kinda like the whole package but that's too easy.
Edit:
If the Soft Nav Buttons are your thing pick ICS Flagship.

Maybe we could put that under ICS Flagship, can't seem to edit the poll.
There's a bunch. Love the shape. Love the screen, faults and all. But for me, it's a Nexus and the flagship for the OS that puts Android--in my opinion--over the top.
GNex looks sexy
4.65 in super amoled plus HD god I just love the name of it...
My fav. Feature is ics itself. So sexy and smooth

The resolution by far.
Looking at any other phone looks silly in-comparison for the sheer lack-luster resolution alone.
being able to screen grab without needing to root the device. I guess that would be flagship ICS right?
Being able to make peoples jaw drop at seven eleven. Love NFC+google wallet.

Sounds great to me. ICS is pretty awesome, can't wait till it gets spread around some more so the rest of world can see how great Android can be.

The camera? Me thinks the camera on the SGN is very laggy and hard to use. I've have two SGNs and on both the camera makes is a classic "blurrycam."
I think my Blackberry Bold had a better camera.

Check out the Pics thread a couple slots down. People can take some amazing pictures with this camera if you know what you are doing.
It was a touch choice, but I picked ICS Flagship. I chose the Nexus because I liked that while my phone will fall behind hardware wise in a few months, the software will always stay current. After the T-Mobile/Vibrant fiasco, this was really important.
The screen is a very close second. I love AMOLED and the size of the screen. Also like the warm color tone. Reading with the Kindle app and in night mode is really easy on the eyes.

It isn't a 'plus' display. It's an HD Super AMOLED. 'Plus' displays have an RGB matrix, while our phone has a PenTile matrix.
That being said, the screen is probably my favorite feature. The sheer resolution is amazing.

It's definitely pretty though.
At first I wasn't impressed....but as I watched the video all the way through.... :O......

From my understanding its for both.
Looks nice
But I find the icons reminiscent of the ios box style.
Price will be a factor too.
No way I'd pay more than 5-6$ for it. (spb decent but $$$)
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
hmm. I thought it reminded me of a combination of ios/ubuntu
looks nice if they don't tax 2 much for it ill buy it
Hope they don't overprice it like spb
via my bleached S2
seems cool but I can't stand having all the icons square. thats the reason i left iOS. All square icons is super boring.
Carriers should take note. All carriers should use this method to provide a unique customer experience. Just look what can be done! They should NOT modify the underlying OS and it should be easily uninstallible.

I agree to an extent. It's nowhere near as bad as HTC's Sense which is so deeply ingrained within Android that it is bloated. Touchwiz is not nearly as bad as Sense but still a bit intrusive. Hopefully they won't botch the ICS update with too much Touchwiz.
Anywho, I saw this video a couple months back and was fairly impressed. Seems like the perfect launcher for MIUI.
Sick I will be purchasing it

OMG....
I will buy this even if they charge $ 1000 for it..... well you got the idea. This is freakin awesome. This should be the official android 5, or 6 launcher. Looks quite complicated but i would love the fun of getting used to it.
Anyone knows the price range that will be?
I wana try too. But how much it goona be 15 bucks like SPB shell!!??

I second this.
It does look pretty incredible. I'll be curious to try it, but like others have said price will be an issue. I've already paid for ADW EX and LPP so buying yet another home replacement app almost seems silly. On the other hand, both the launchers I'm using are ridiculously slow with adding features so this could really get a lot of purchases at the right price point.
Looks cluttered and chaotic...think I'll stick with my Go Launcher ICS theme personally. No offense to those who like this of course. Kind of curious about the size of this app...
Yea I agree about the icons. I do love all the options that I have with go launcher and that I can select different icons for any of my icons depending on how many themes I have. But I look forward to seeing the progress of this launcher

Omg, if this is the SGS III. That's supposed to be the invitation, and even with only half the phone.......
PURE BEAUTY!!!!
WHAT IS THIS TOM FOOLERY?
Looks like it might've been inspired by jets or metallic items?
Regardless of what you guys think of the GS3, this design (if it is real) is by far the most unique in the Android market thus far.
Man, so sleek and shiny.
It would fit in with reports of them trying to get in on the London Olympics marketing opportunity.....seeing as the location for unveiling is supposed to be London
If this turns out to be true then I guess I'm prepared to get used to TouchWiz. Lol.

That's why we flash ROMs and Kernels.....SGS has great dev support and I'm sure there will be a ton of AOSP ROMs etc...just like the SGSII has now.

woww. I really thought I was gonna hold onto my GN until the next nexus device but there's no way I'll be able to resist this.

It is definitely unique. Is that the back? Regardless, the Galaxy Nexus had a "wow factor" but that would have a panty dropping factor.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
The one in the invitation looks a bit different than the earlier leaks in terms of that bezel.
They probably exaggerated the curves/angles a bit just like they did in the Galaxy Nexus invitation video that gave a glimpse of the curved body.
I'd want just half the phone based on those looks in the invitational.....haha
Looks classy... Samsung may just yet be the company that finally steals a solid number of users away from Apple. And I don't mean the Android operating system as a whole. I mean that the Galaxy SIII itself will sells millions.
Either way, it's nice to see that Android has a serious manufacturer that isn't Google itself and yet is still willing to create a damn good Android device.
Everyone here is pretty gullible. Besides, we all know a metal finish just results in sweaty, fingerprint filled front. Hah, no thanks. The Nexus and One X have got it right.

I don't think this should be in the GNex section. Even if General.

only SGS has many devs. SGS2 devs most has given up, left, or jumpship to other device, AOSP didnt really work as much as HTC AOSP roms, as not much that do the coding except for few. The only Samsung devices that i see has a long dev support are SGS, Nexus S, Gnex. Other than that, HTC reigns as the dev favourites. SGS2 dev support was ruined by Samsung themselves. I am not sure if they wont do the same to S3. I'll be sticking to Nexus line.
Lot of people getting excited over a pretty non-descript piece of metal Couldn't tell you if it was the front or rear, but it looks like the arse end of a piece of cutlery

Awesome and welcome. Don't expect iPad build quality, but the g9 is actually very durable, my 5 yo son destroys his and it keeps ticking. I am using the 80 as I like the 8 inch size. Let us know how the 10“ works.

It arrived this morning, all working great. Having read a bunch of reviews slating it for tacky build quality, poor camera, etc, I wasn't put off. Those reviews were just picky. It's actually quite solidly built, and very fast. Not bothered about the camera, I have a real digital camera for photos, and my mobile phone as backup. Why would I want to lug my tablet around to take pictures? Bizarre. They could have quite happily left the camera off for all I care.
But anyway, like I said, the 101 G9 Turbo ICS is great! Screen is awesome, apps look brilliant on it.

Because I want a 10" screen, that's why. I may totally jump on the nexus 7 if they are priced good here. But not before a new bigger device. I have been waiting for any information on the g10x but none seems to be around besides the initial release video and hoopla this spring. I wish Archie would give extra info on release date and specs.

LEGO Photosphere Maker V4.0

Hi guys,
I decided that some things could be improved on the machine.
Turned out that my new idea was a complete FAIL.
So I wen't back to the drawingboard and this is what I came up with
It uses much less parts (again). And it's way more compact.
It's not that modular anymore, but who cares. It will now fit in a bag easily anyway.
See it in action in the vid below and check out the pics for some details.
Pics of the old builds are kept for comparison
Cheers,
Daan

And about an hour or two to finish the upgrade with the tilting-motor at the bottom.

edit: The compass is acting up I think. I can't get it to take good photspheres. Really strange. Anyone has experience with this?
It's rotating towards the blue dot while it's not moving, as if it's dizzy
Build 3 was panning too slow so had too speed it up a bit.
For some strange reason it got dizzy when moving too slow
