[Q] Display drains 85% of battery on CM 7.2 - HTC Wildfire S

Hi, I have one question. I have Wildfire S powered by CM 7.2 (Alquez). Battery use shows me that display drains battery by 85%. Is this normal?

May not be correct. Go into recovery/advance/Wipe Battery Stats. Then reboot and your battery stats will be refreshed and corrected.

I tried that, still the same. Display drains 85%.

That's right! the screen is the biggest drain on battery as your screen is on the whole time your doing stuff eg. Games, browser, videos etc.
Only when in standby is it off hence the reason battery can last a very long time in sleep.
In stock rom's it doesn't show the screen in battery usage but if it did I'm sure it would be very similar.

One more thing. My phone getting hot when I use it. Not much but more than normal. Cpu set 245-600.

[Q] high battery drain on ARHD 6.1.0

hi all, i am experiencing ridiculous battery drain on my desire hd. usually last about 10hrs with little to moderate use, have tried battery calibration but did not make any difference? i quite often see battery drain of 100 - 300 mah but do not know what is using that power.
Any other known fixes?
Am going to do a clean flash of 6.1.1 over weekend to see if this helps...

yep... when i was on ARHD 5.2 with the older radio i never had this problem.
i have noticed the battery drain on standby quite often. i have sent just a few text messages and read a few e-mails today and battery already down to 47% after just 8 hours, which is only because i refrained from using it too much...
i'll tried the calibratiojn by damo but charged while the phone was switched on... will try this again like you said,
thanks

Battery problem

I'hv flashed cm7 last week. The problem is that my defy battery drains too fast as compared to stock Froyo. I have calibrated its battery correctly. Also phone always remains hot. I am looking for solution but didn't get proper solution. Plz help..
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I've noticed the same, since flashing CM 7.1 my battery will barely last the day, I don't think it's going into deep sleep.
I'm having the same problem
When I flashed CM7 the second time recalibrated and deleted battery stat battery life improved...now i get about 35-40 hrs on one charge.
But of course there are many factors that contribute to battery life and our devices won't be the same.
Not proper solution yet..

I had problems too but after the Calibration the battery works just fine.. try Calibration again
Thanks to all..will post after getting my problem solved.trying cm7 stable..

I tried cm7 stable..here battery is draining more quickly..is there any ROM for better battery performance..?

can you give us some numbers and specifics about your usage ? its not possible to give any view point or explanation till we know whether you are running on 2g or 3g wifi on/off etc etc .
that your phone remains hot can be caused by two things (in my experience): your cpu is always on 100%, or your gps is on. First of all, try wiping battery stats from recovery when fully charged, than let it discharge. secondly, try using setvsel to control the frequencies. if your battery still drains fast, check whether its water damage indicator is red (the - originally - white sticker near the battery pins), cuz mine is red, which means it was contacted by water, which couldve caused a short, and till then my battery drains much faster.
You can use cpu spy from market to see what is your cpu doing and the times for each state. Check if it's going to deep sleep.
I always keep my GPS, wifi off.
CPU is undervolted at minimum values as 300-16,600-26,1000-46.
I've already calibrated battery.
My battery statistics are: (approx.)
Display- 40%
Android system- 10%
Phone idle -15%
Cell standby- 10%
Android OS -5%
Remaining- other apps
Display is taking 40% while I always keep it at minimum brightness.

I finally got solution.. My defy's battery performance improved a lot. I have installed wakjiui ROM and calibrated the battery and it was unbelievable. Using it since last week. Almost doubled battery performance. At night it drains by only 2%. And one more thing about wakj ROM is it is perfect combination of miui and some apps from cm7. .

i got 48 hours.. sometimes more using MIUI .. highly recommend you to use it!
It is based on miui.

and what exactly do you do if your phone doesnt go into deep sleep?

Viper 1.01 drains battery a lot

even when one x is sleeping, battery is being drained fast. this afternoon, i left it sleeping when it had 9% of battery. after two hours i checked the phone, it had ran out...
I agree, even I'm experiencing this. I got equal if not worse battery compared to stock 1.29 ROM. I even had the CPU sleeper app installed and had fast dormancy on. I was using it with stock kernel though. I'm going to try the latest Faux kernel and see how it goes. It's reported to give the best battery life.

why you left your phone with just 9% battery overnight?
anyways there must be an app that is keeping your app awake when screen is off hence why the drain...install betterbatterystats and check what is keeping the phone awake..that way you can uninstall that app and no more drain for you.
plus faux i am using and is brilliant
Viper Rom

No problems for me, all running good
If fast dormancy is not supported by your network it will in fact increase battery use!

Battery life issues

I'm running Franco r248 and eclipse rom and can't manage even 12hrs of standby almost 10percent an hour battery drain with almost 80percent deep sleep. Any ideas?

From what I've read on the forums, update your kernel and ROM, and/or wipe your battery stats. I believe Clockworkmod should let you clear your battery stats. Boot into recovery with CWM and look for it.

Wiping battery stats does nothing..absolutely nothing. As system is deleting stats every time you unplug your phone @ 90-100% of battery. Wiping it just makes your battery information/calculations go berserk.
You could try can install with fresh rom. I suggest trying slimbean, full stock or with Franco's kernel. Also consider changing your radio/ril if you're in area with bad reception, 'cos it'll drain your battery also.
I'm doing easily 14-20h uptime with 3-4,5h screen on time with slimbean+franco. Idle drain is about 1%/2-3h (no sync, data nor wifi).

This. Every time someone says to clear battery stats, FSM eats a cute and fluffy penguin chick. Why this grossly erroneous advice still continues to be posted almost a year after it was clearly and concisely debunked is baffling.

From DX power booster, which shows hardware power consumption, the radio power consumption is basically negligible... 95% of battery was taken by CPU and screen

If you're referring to a some kind of an app which shows you battery drain, be noted that those figures are fully hypothetical since there isn't a way to measure power consumption inside the phone. Figures are made by algorithm with some data from spec sheets, Android battery stats, etc. It can give you some hints but can't be blindly trusted.
And I have had tested several radios with my ex-SGS and saw that wrong radio had huge impact to idle drain, especially in the low signal strength areas. If course CPU and screen are still the main drainers, but imho radio can't be left without notice..

Flashed to leaked Jelly Bean OTA and trinity kernel still draining like buckets. Got a a battery on order so hopefully that fixes it. Its not a CPU issue as its in deep sleep 80% of the time. Even in Airplane mode its draining at 5-10% an hour
Also 20mins drained 4% using stock 4.0.4 no apps installed. Completely idle
Reflashed to 4.0.4 but unchecked keep my phone backed up to Google and Restore from google and now only draining at about 2% an hour in standby. Now Im running eclipse with leanKernal and getting 1% an hour drain

So it was that backup service what kept your phone awake/running at higher CPU speeds. For a next time, go and grab BetterBatteryStats from chamonix's XDA thread. That one would have said that *backup* is keeping your phone awake (I have seen that in my phone also). Let's hope that you're phone now behaves nicely
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I did install better battery stats but nothing was keeping the phone from going to deep sleep. It was in deep sleep roughly 80-90% of the time

Ah okay, then it's little weird since backup service has always appeared in wakelocks and that's how it has been easily founded as a culprit for drain. But anyway, your problem is solved and therefore case is kind of closed

[Q]Drunk battery?

Hello guys,
You might not know me, but i'm new to the Desire HD forums. I just bought one from a friend and i realy love the device.
Anyway,
I thought i might aswell root it. So after 3 hours, i finally managed to root my Desire HD/ace.
While flashing This Rom, 4EXT recovery said i had 50% battery left.
After flashing, and booting, the Device said that the battery was 95% full?
Is there something wrong with my Radio?
Thanks in advance,
TheRinseM.

Radio has nothing to do with battery (at least as far as spikes; I suppose a more inefficient radio could drain more battery). Did you full wipe before flashing? How old is your battery?
No the flashed ROM's on our Desire HD particularly ICS and JB have a problem with Battery %. Sometimes you can get random falls and a reboot will usually put the % right again. If you charge to 100% overnight then go into recovery and reset battery stats it can help.

My battery said it was 56%, then i did a reboot, and it was 95%. But wiping battery stats works! Thanks alot!

Mine has the drunk battery too. I really have no idea what the battery percent really is ever, but it never runs out before getting down to 0% so at least I have some reserve. I have the original battery in mine.

wipe battery stats in recover, I think.
Did not work. Stock and cm10.1 it's the same no matter what I try. I "calibrated" the battery several times. Has no effect. I guess the battery isn't as bad as it first seems because after it gets below reading around 40% it drops slower the lower it gets. 1% will last another half hour screen on time playing a game.

New battery may fix this. I had this jumping around issue a few months ago irrespective of the ROM and it turned out the battery was dying.
My next step is a new battery when I have the money. That's what I think is the problem as well.

1% lasting 1/2 hour screen on is very good what are your battery stats, Mine is about 13 1/2hrs with 30% left using in 3g plus Sync and internet and calls and navigation on AOKP 7/4/13.

With screen on it can go from 100% to 45% in like half an hour or less iv think. Once below 40% it lasts a while. I can get a day out of it moderate use. Should be good once I replace the battery.
