[Q] glite 2.0.1 - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thanks a lot for this rom. Its performance appears to be only one deserving the ultra smooth name . I cannot post in glite thread, so I'm asking here.> Is it possible to flash a ctr screen off animation onto glite? I also really would like to have the rotation animation like in ITLW cm7 ;p

Gingerbread screen off on other sense roms

Hi all,
I'm currently using C7 nightlies and Leedroid, I love sense but i do like some of the features which c7 nightlies come's with, Namely the Screen off / on style animation which is just superb, I don't know if this has been asked (probably has) but is there an apk or even a flashable file which can implement this to sense rom's, it truly would set off the rom i use currently.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks.
+1
Ive always stuck with Vanilla Android with my previous Android devicesssss and this is my first Sense UI phone and I like it.

Thoes animations are only for GB+, its like asking for aero on windows xp once GB gets an official release, you will be able to use thoes animations with sence roms, just be patient init

I am patient, I just didn't know whether or not it could have been implemented or not, c7 has it so I thought it could be possible.
Ill just wait innit!

Cyanogen boot animation for fla.shX2 ROM

Here is the new Cyanogen boot animation for fla.shX2 ROM
Try this and leave your opinions
Installation:
Just flash it via CWM.
Download this in attachments
Ahem - this is not cyanogen - so why put this up and annoy the developers of cyanogen.
They are working on cyanogen mod and the last thing they need is people posted stuff like this attachement and therefore falsely make some individuals believe they have the cyanogen mod or allowing individuals to falsely boast they have the cyanogen mod.
Cyanogen will come to us hopefully but if it does not, then it does not - but it does not allow people to use thier unique bootanimation.
Just my opinion and if you dont like it flame away as I will not respond to it.

i dunno y u guys are obsessed with cynogenmod .... tring to look as close to it as possible ... cause i am using fla.sh rom which is quite nice & who cares for cynogen ROM ... so try to flaunt this ROM rather than cynogen !!
I would agree with your comment about fla.sh - Im using X2.2 and it is fast and stable - I dont have the issues with SOD and therefore did not go back to X2.3 which had some build.prop tweaks, a new boot logo but wiped my APN for some reason.
I get extremely good battery life and I like the build. Its an excellent Rom and I have been recommending it to my friends and colleagues who have bought Aces.
I would just like to see an official Cyanogen build for the Ace - having had the pleasure of using it on 2 other android phone over the years.
I general, i think the cm7 bootanimation is pretty nice, using a MIUI bootanimation though

I'm obsessed with CyanogenMOD because it triggers all the power of RAM,It has all cool tweaks, all animations, cool Bootanimation, pure Google experience (cause Made from AOSP Build). All the things that possible for tweaking already tweaked! I'm a CyanogenMOD fan
I hope CyanogenMOD will come to SGA Hope 4 the best! Cheers 4 CyanogenMOD Dev team!
I tried this. Looks cool but I have a very slow boot time. I don't know maybe it's just me.

[Q] Which Sense 3.5 ROM do you use?

Hey guys, just trying to get everyone's opinion about which sense 3.5 ROM they use. Please no aosp, cm7, miui, or ICS talk. I have tried them all and sense is smooth, feature packed, and sexy as hell.
Ok, anyways, I have been running Newtoroot's Incredible 2 HD RLS1 for about a month, and it is flawless. I am an avid flasher and want to try Virtuous Affinity, but would like opinions about it before I wipe a month's worth of phone data. I loved virtuous on the OG Inc. and want to know if it is up to par with Newt's.
Thanks guys.
There is no meed to lose a month of data, just make a nandroid in cwm before you flash. If you don't like it, just restore your backup. I'm an aosp person myself so I don't have an opinion on sense roms. I've just noticed that some people are attracted to certain features, which makes if hard to suggest roms.

I'm on Virtuous Affinity right now .... not too much different IMO between it and Newt's Incredible HD 1.1 ROM, aside from a few tweaks and visual differences (i.e. EVDO instead of 3G). Both seem to get comparable battery life.
Currently using Rcmix Runny4.0. I like this 3.5 rom.
I've tired Newts version (incredible2hd), and really I don't care for all the added animations. Just not my thing. Not into the added Mik tab in the app drawer either. Remove those couple of things, and it would be really good. It's snappy, no complaints there.
I ran Affinity for a few days and really couldn't find anything to complain about with it. Good stuff. I just prefer Rcmix due to the transparent status bar tweak. I did like the fact that you could make Rosie transparent in Affinity though. If I could do the trans status bar with Affinity that would be my DD
I gave Runnydroid a try, and it wasn't bad at all. Just needs the Rcmix tweaks added, and it would be really good.
I plan on trying Nitsju's 3.5 bliss rom in the next few days as well.
Stability wise Virtuous is the way to go. if you want all the tweaks newts HD. Virtuous will eventually be the #1 sense 3.5 ROM.. Most already think it is. It's built to run better on our phones.
RCMix Runny 4.0 is definitely my favorite Sense 3.5 ROM.
Ok so virtuoso is the way to go, now being new to this how do I go about loading it onto my incredible2

-You can remove the animations with a zip
-You can remove the miktab by long pressing on it
-Affinity's lockscreen icons are small for some reason
-I agree about RunnyDroid
-Nitsuj's Bliss isn't as good as the others IMHO although I love his other ROMs

Thanks for info on Newts rom. I'll have to try it again with the mods.
virtuos
How do I load virtuos on my phone. And where do I find it?
Virtuosrom.com or dev section here.
To load it you need 3 chickens and a full moon to prepare for the installation ceremony.

Just had a Major League flashback here. lol.
Virtuous is the best one for performance and battery life. It just works.
Virtuous' Rom is the Affinity ROM in the development section.
Do not install SetCPU or any Daemons - let the Virtuous scripts do its magic.
Also, be on the lookout for the Magnolia 3.5 ROM by Steve - Its coming soon and he knows his stuff.
Wow, really? When I ran it, I used a custom kernel and andrev_oc. I'll try it out stock.
Nano Droid Backup?
You don't have to loose evrything when you change your ROM. Just install ROM manager, use it to flash clockwork mod recovery, and make a Nano Droid Back up so you can always revert back to your old ROMs.

[Q] help with choosing a ROM

I am trying to find a perfect ROM for my needs so tried almost every type of ROM out there. I think Sense Based ROM-s suite me best, I love sense 3/3.5 based ones, but they usually run really awful due to lack of RAM I hate how Rosie gets killed and when I exit the app I have to wait for it to load.
Is there a way to make rosie be always in memory ? or at least make sense 3.0 ROMs work normal-ish on Desire Z ? Swapping didn't help.
If that doesn't work I think I'll have to stop with sense 2.0.
Which Sense 2.0 ROM is best ?
so I need
- good amount of free RAM
- good battery life
- sense 3.0 style lockscreen
- any kind of power widget/ quick setting in notification menu
- battery showing in percents
thanks in advance for help
I spent a good deal of time flashing several different Sense based ROMs and always ended up being frustrated with lags and soft reboots.
I'm now running a setup with CM7, Widget Locker which gives you a variety of choices for lock screen style (including Sense 3.0-like) and GO Dialer/Contacts EX with its smart dial functionality.
I must say that I miss the smooth camera app included in Sense but other than that Widget Locker and GO Dialer/Contacts EX fills in the blanks for me.
I think your best options are to either go with Virtuous Sense 2.0.0 or an AOSP based ROM and style it to your liking
Last link is the smoothest ICS skin I have seen.

Or you can also try running v6 supercharger ( there's a guide in general ) it helps a LOT
stop using htc sense
i got error :cannot stat 'psneuter': No such file or directory while downgrading
help please
whpsnp thank you for your post, but I have tried CM and I didn't like it that much I really like great fb intergration in Sense and amazing stock calendar. But thanks for reply.
noneabove can you give me a link couldn't find a guide. But I did find what supercharger is and I still don't think it's gonna make sense 3.0 roms usable, but it can make sense 2.0 roms a lot better, so I'll appreciate a link.
epic-tim dude are you an idiot ? your question isn't even relevant to discussion here, use search or open a new thread.
I think I found my solution.
I used Virtuous Sense 2.0 ROM and modified it with
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201255
for battery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210760
for notification togglers
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062962
for lockscreen
but still I'll be happy to hear any other ideas
You can use the Energized or beatmod sense ROMs, they are very smooth and fast on our phones, even without swap. You can use the v6 supercharger script just to make sure it runs even better. These 2 roms are the only sensible sense 3.x options for our DZ. Other sense roms are laggy and not very optimized for our phone. Best of luck
If you want sense then I would highly recommend Virtuous Affinity. It is available in the dev thread here.
It is the most usable/smooth sense rom that still has all the features enabled. No sense rom is every going to be as fast and smooth as CM but with a little work affinity is pretty close.
I would recommend using 4ext rather than cwm. 4ext has the option to reformat your partitions as ext4.
You should also enable a swap partition. Affinity with swap enabled will have a decent amount of free ram.
Also reduce the number of home screens. I use 3 screens. That helps keep rosie smooth.
The v6 script will help too.
With virtuou you cannot use any overclocking app other than OC/UV beater 2. Any other will kill the virtuous oc daemon.
With all of the above you will have a very good sense 3.5 experience. In my opinion the best possible sense experience on this handset.

Stock-Personalized!

Hello all, ive been using several modded firmwares, but however i really don't need all the mods except for few!!! but now i'm moving on to a stock and i wish to mod it myself so Kindly help me out with the following, just want guide!
-HTC sense 3.0/3.5 layer (The visuals and updates)
-CRT TV Lockscreen Animation
-CPU speed
-enabling 720p
-Ext4 (How do i go about, i already have a partition but how do i make the apps get installed there?)
In my opinion the RCMixS suits to you a lot ^^
I'm using it and I love that rom. It doesn't receive an update since a long time ago, but, anyway, it's incredibly stable.
Thanx Sbarabau , will download i soon
Can also vouch for RCMix ROM. Used it for about 6 months, possibly the most stable and reliable ROM of it's time.
I have recently upgaded to Runnymede, but would recommend RCMix to anyone wanting simple, stable and dependable.
