1. I wanted to know that is it possible to downgrade using flashtool e.g if i flash a custom rom which is based on firmware .55 but then i flash with flash tool, version .50, would it work?
2. By flashing through flash tool, can i get rid of CWM?
1) yes
2) yes
Assuming you have an unlocked bootloader and you mean flashing ftf files

No. I'm not planning on unlocking bootloader but yes i was referring to ftf files. DOes it change the scenario?
Anyone?
The custom rom part put me off, sorry about that.
You can use flashtool to flash a stock ftf firmware over any custom rom. (also with a locked bootloader.
You could downgrade even to a gingerbread rom if you want

Ok and by flashing stock ftf, i would get rid of even clockwork right? in case of sending it to repair centre.
Thing is, i have played around with custom roms on different phones for ages but the whole part of unlocking bootloader etc is all new to me so before i begin flashing roms.
Yes it would remove cwm since it's embedded in the kernels and since stock firmware kernels don't have cwm it will be removed by flashtool when flashing a stock firmware rom

Hi there,
I unlocked, rooted and installed a custom recovery and rom on the Xperia S from a friend. Now he told me, that he would like to have everything stock again. How can I remove twrp from that device again? And is there a stock rom (even pre-rooted, but full stock) that is flashable through twrp?
Thank you
Instal stock ftf and than root via v root if u want.
Go in development section for stock ftf.

Hello @stalin.sk2,
Its my pleasure to help you. This way I too learn new things.
But I have a bad news.
I downloaded your zip file and flashed and alas my mobile got into a boot loop.
You should once recheck if the the files are ok or not.
I am not saying that te problem is in zip file itself but if you can recheck then we can be sure.
Moreover My mobile acting weird.
Everytime I try to deodex it, it goes tto bootloop each and every time.
What firmware is no-15.5.0.A.18. I mean what is the no- part. Am i missing something?

No, it replaces framework files so it will not flash them as it will make the phone freeze and the end up in a bootloop.

I've done a tutorial in the themes and apps sub-forum on the C190X deodexed files on how to push them manually. It should work for this phone too.

I didnt take TA backup before unlocking and installing cwm. And the ftf link doesnt contain the firmware version which i currently have. There is unbranded brazil firmware which is same as mine. Will it be safe to use or i need branded firmware?
I have a unlocked at&t r800at xperia play running the stock at&t firmware 2.3.3, I do have a 2.3.4 r800a north america firmware file, also have latest flashtool installed but even though i put the firmware .tft file in the firmware folder of the flashtool folders when i go to firmware option in flashtools the list to pick firmwares is blank.
Also when starting up flashtool it says something about for 2011 devices make sure mtp mode is off or something like that. Can anyone tell me the steps to install a firmware, such as does the phone need to be on or off and in what mode etc etc and why is the firmware window in flashtools is empty? Thanks

Maybe the file is corrupted re-download it and see what happens or try another firmware
If none of them works install an older version of flashtool like v 0.13.0.0 or earlier versions

Thanks for the info about trying an older version I didn't find the version you mention but I tried 0.6.6 version and it saw the firmware and it worked thanks.
I didn't like my T2 ultra until 5.1.1 (19.4.A.0.182) stock rom came along...it gave the buggy phone a new lease.
I like to root it via flashtoo ftf file. Does anyone has one to share? Also pls advise the steps...do I need to unlock bootloader first? Do I need to install recovery?
I wanted to root to remove bloatwares and use app2sd to install apps.
By the way Xperia Z already has a pre-rooted stock rom ftf.
Thanks!
